In the video we see the Codex Sassoon, also known as Sassoon’s Crown which is one of the oldest and most complete copies of the Hebrew Bible. This manuscript contains all 24 books of the Bible, dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries. It was written in ink on sheepskin, and bound in a leather binding, weighing about 12 kilograms and including 792 pages of written texts. Therefore, the Codex Sassoon is a testament to the rich Jewish life in the Middle East at that time.
The codex has an incredible history, having been passed down through generations, smuggled out of a synagogue to protect it, and purchased by David Sassoon, a collector of Jewish manuscripts. Now, it is part of a final tour before being auctioned by Sotheby's, with a price range estimated between 30 and 50 million dollars, making it possibly the most valuable historical document ever!

Dear Friend. Greetings from Germany. I've read so much in the last weeks about the Sassoon Codex and my question was, how it is presented to the public in Israel now. Thank you very much for this video. It so amazing. Such a great an interesting museum. Now I've found your interesting chanel and this is very good.

Thanks for watching! After its exhibition at the ANU Museum in Israel, it was auctioned at Sotheby's Auction House in New York where it was purchased by Alfred H Moses (former ambassador of the US to Romania) for a whooping sum of $38m! Interestingly, it has been donated to ANU Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv where it will join the collection!

Thanke for asking about Damscus Crown. Codex Sasson is not the Damascus Crown. The Dasmcus crown books are also very old and have interesting history to tell. You can find more information about the Damascus Crown here: www.nli.org.il/en/discover/judaism/jewish-people-treasures/damascus-keter And you can translate this Hebrew Wikipedia page to English (the english page lacking info): he.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%9B%D7%AA%D7%A8%D7%99_%D7%93%D7%9E%D7%A9%D7%A7

The background music never stopping, loud, irritating - a pure physical torture to the viewers - is a demonstration that the material is dodgy, to say the least. Remove the background music and re-load the material.
