Here’s a video showing how to code more Ambient lighting options onto a 2019+ 3 series BMW G20, G21 G26, G28 or G80. I replace Bronze with Red as well as add a Red and Blue combo to the options. Unfortunately no one has been able to figure out how to change the name of the colors in IDrive so you’re limited with the list thats currently available stock.
Also want to thank VipinLJ and a few other members on Bimmerpost who did the hard work of figuring this stuff out.

Just tried this on my 2019 X3 G01 unfortunately I can't find the 360D... folder and nothing else which had a similar name. But I do have multiple colors to choose from, not only two. Any tipps for me?

Is there like a list of some sort on how to know what code equals what colour? For example, what would the code be if i wanted a light blue colour?

Yes, Just found a way to create really any color you would like but you would still have to replace one of the preselected colors like i did bronze. I’ll make another video soon

www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_rgb.asp You can use the website linked above to find the hex codes for colors you want. The bits and corresponding hex codes can be obtained for basically any color you want. You'll have to divide the hex codes (# value) into three and input it in Bimmercode to get the color you want.

For example, the hex codes for M colors are (81 C4 FF), (16 58 8E), (E7 22 2E) for light sky blue, Yale blue and alizarin crimson. You can use those to get M colors if you want. Though sometimes, the difference is subtle and you might not notice a huge difference between the blues.

Okay so today I coded my 2021 bmw 330i with exact same steps. Didn’t miss anything and it got messed up. Lights on one side changed colour and other side it didn’t. Red came one but I couldn’t switch to another colour. This is not the proper guide

Hmm, You’re the first to comment that had issues and as you can see from the video it definitely works. Others have used it as well with good results. Restore your car to a backup that Bimmercode provides and give it a go again. Here’s my guess, You may have caused an interruption in the middle of coding, perhaps by opening the door, turning on the air or rolling down the window in the middle of coding. Keep the doors closed and make sure the cars engine is turned off and in diagnostic mode. Make sure the air is off as well and no Bluetooth is connected to your car.

It’s simpler than it looks. All you need to do is type the numbers and you’re good to go, just follow the instructions exactly. As for the screen mirroring I’ll try and look more into it. As far as i was aware it has never been available for IPhone since Apple is really picky with compatible mirroring programs and Idrive isn’t the most user friendly either. Still, I’ll double check.

Just looked into it and it will work for your m135i. Just make sure you’re selecting your car model and not the G20 3Series on the initial step using Bimmercode.

You will definitely need an obd2 plug. It doesn’t have to be the MHD one i use but this MHD one does make coding faster since it connects via wifi. But If you do choose another version just make sure it’s compatible with your car. After you get the obd2 plug then purchase Bimmercode.
