Here's the meaning of the different equals sign operators: x = y assign to x the value of y x == y compare and return true if and only if the two have the same value (but not necessarily the same data type, try to convert them to the same type if possible x === y return true if and only if the two are identical and have the same data type. Obviously, the === comparison is more strict, while the == comparison allows you to be sloppy: "2" == 2 // true "2" === 2 // false false == 0 // true false === 0 // false

PC Master Race there is nothing wrong with using libraries. Hell in some languages they are downright needed for certain things. For example if you force yourself to try to make a game in c++ without a library then you are literally torturing yourself. Sfml sdl and sdl2 are all libraries

I know this video is a few weeks old but hopefully you see this comment: you're doing a really great job with this channel, you're clearly a grreat programmer and an enthusiastic guy, which I really like. And of course, I'm not really qualified to give you advice on the direction of the channel, but for challenges like this that aren't timed, it going a little more in depth with the polish of the final product, the explanations you give for what you're doing being more detailed, and the length of the video increasing are not bad things. Also having the stream active on the side has a lot of potential, you looking at questions in the chat and responding to them could save confusion for people watching on KZbin who have the same questions, and interaction with fans is always a good thing. Ultimately, the channel is great regardless, just my thoughts on the coding videos, keep up the great work! :)

Do you think it's better to use percentages vs. "magic number' pixel values to make the game more "responsive"? For example when you want the ship to be slightly above the bottom of the screen you could set its value to (0.99 * height) instead of (height - 20)
@Fingeroo8 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you mean by responsive. Using a fraction or percentage of the screen height would respond better to having the window resized, but it wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of user input, if that's what you meant.
