The fancy setup is a nice bonus but, ultimately, I'm here just to learn about coding so if this more simple setup allows you to create more videos, I'll be happy to watch this kind of videos, too.

I have always wanted a way to do videos from home and also something in a more "relaxed" setting so this is my attempt. Ideally this won't reduce the number of videos but just offer more variety.

@@TheCodingTrain how about you teach these kids math like probability theory \ statistics step-by-step in order to, someday, actually teach them machine learning properly instead of the "populistic" approach most of the people out there on youtube do?

If you're attempting this in Processing, there's no AngleMode function. So just keep the for loop in radians, like so: for (float i = 0; i < TWO_PI; i += (TWO_PI / 360)) { float k = i * d; float r = 250 * sin(n*k); float x = r * cos(k); float y = r * sin(k); vertex(x, y); }

Definitely a good change of pace. I think the main thing is how it is for you. If you find it easier to code (not on a live stream) in a less formal setting... But yes, the new set is good.

Hi Dan, I just wanted to say I am a fan of both styles of video and think they both have a place. The Coding Train videos are more "formal" and lend themselves to series or multi-part series that feel very instructor-lead. The cabana is more personal and I think well suited to quick demonstrations or one-off explorations of ideas. At least, that's my thoughts on it. Thanks for all you do, you've been an inspiration to me in the classroom. Keep up the great work!

Delightful video! It felt like being in the cabana allowed you to remain focused on this small project. (Having the chat to look at/get advice from is convenient, but often feels like you're being distracted.) This was a nice, concise little project. If anything, as others have said, maybe switching to a standard, small white board would be an improvement to eliminate the scratching sound of that (chalk?) board. Please continue with this series!

DAN! Gardening thru the winter is honestly kinda trickyy. Most plants cue their flowering seasons in response to changes in temperature but they vary wildly among plants and can be hella counterintuitive.For example tulips will ONLY bloom when it's cold, which is why some people have to put them in refrigerators to make them grow properly. Just be careful not to accidentally keep a plant warm that actually needed to be in the cold. Also don't ask me why or how I know any of this, cuz I have 0 idea.
