To the people wondering what makes this good technique.. 1. He's not trynna be heavy handed and loading his punches and gassing out like a lot of newbies do.. 2. You can see he's using visualization and imagining an actual target as he's shadowboxing 3. He's applying footwork and head movement. 4. He's making sure every punch he throws is with good technique. A lot of mma fighters even in the UFC don't have good solid boxing fundamentals and Cody clearly does.

J S If your strictly trynna practice on accuracy for your power punches then no , but if your one of those guys that just try to unload on shots and burn your self out as quick as possible then I guess for a cardio exercise no but other than that It's completely pointless

Grant Franchey yes! finally someone understands! Shadowboxing, and for that matter bagwork, doesn't have to look intense all the time. Cody is even switching stances in this session. He knows what he is doing.

Might be obvious question, but for someone who knows what theyre talking about, what is the point when they do these repeated uppercuts, i see all boxers do this in shadowboxing. Is it literally just for conditioning?
@AaronSaucyDog
@AaronSaucyDog 6 жыл бұрын
Rujewitblood they have multiple purposes, such as loosening up your shoulders, cardio & muscle conditioning (if you go as fast as you can for timed rounds) and building hand speed (by going fast & keeping your nerves adjusted to a quick tempo

Wow dude, some real fanboys laying into you. Sorry to see that but yeah prefect technique in mma just isn't safe. But unlike what some of these try hard want to think good boxing technique is valuable. Cody is a perfect example. Dom cruz even said that most mma techniques follow a straight line to the target and that boxing is the one that least does that. No wonder he didn't do so well against Cody. All these guys replying gotta chill 😂 Connor mcrgregor and stipe are good examples too.

This is Horrible shadow boxing.. Completly unreal, he doesn't fight like that nor does he throw that many shots in 1 round, noone does. Lol, what good about this... The rule is train how you fight. This is not that.. It's counter productive.. Lol, he fights MMA, not a boxer. He needs to be more serious and take himself seriously as a fighter. False training is never good.. Thisnis that. His center of gravity contradicts his timing and strength... This is all off!

universalpopper First, thanks for making sense with what your saying. Personally, I would tend to disagree about a few things. I agree that shadow boxing is for footwork, muscle memory ECT. I don't however agree that Its for speed. If his muscles at not fully engaged, then they arent preloaded, Plyomectrics is for speed and muscle loading development. I agree about training agenda, fighters vs non fighters, and scheduled fighters vs general upkeep. You train how you fight... Go ask a Seal, go ask a Ranger, or an SF guy, a Sapper, an MP. Its basic psychology... Following that path has not yet failed the entire US arsenal. Your talking semantics. Yes I agree. Different stations for different reasons.. That's not what I'm referring too and You know that. Every limb needs a to be trained, yes! That's obvious! Boxers have been training like this for a long time... Im not saying its not efficient, I'm saying its not sufficient for Accuracy, endurence, strength, timing are all factors of proper training to the degree of the ability of the asset. This is not about athletics, This is about if he has enough knowledge and proper training to beat TJ this time. If he needs endurence; most of his training need to be rounds and rounds of even toned sparring. And running a spacific distance every week. Look these are things that come with the science of fighting... You understand anything then you understand what I'm saying. His training camp didn't doing last time and he gassed out... Cody needs to listen to himself and stop listening to others... I can tell he has people in his ear. He's not focused. I wasnt isolating one workout from another, I was verbally referencing his inability to perform a said function within a paramter, in a truthful way; according to the way he personally fights. I was not talking about his. Conditioning as fat as stamina, they should have taken care of that.. Cody will lose again if hasnet fix the issues needed.. That a fact. Thanks at least for not. Talking like a dumb ass. . .

universalpopper. What we just Spoke a bout is the entire circumstance of fighting A Jab should be fast cumulative and explosive. Im not talking about a broad jump.. You have to either understand the training your doing or you dont understand it.. You cant compare a broad jump to a jab. Then say their both similar and different at the same time but say it still has power.. All you did was agree with me, with more words. Ali was a Boxer, I coved that when I said , it was ( "efficient, but not sufficient" ) efficient* for boxers, that's their whole focus; but its not sufficient for. Mixed style fighters. Every real trainer knows, If you tell a fighter to throw it as fast as they can...They will get fast, that is basic plyomectrics.. Sprinters get fast from running fast.... Its simple.. Where does his kicks come in, when his center of Gravety is off. He can't kick, that's part of his problem weak kicks. He cannot shadow box like a boxer because he's not a Boxer.. Lol I'm sure he's always resetting his front foot. And pulling his weight back to balance his incirrect posture. TJ is gonna take advantage of that if he's not careful. The philosophy is true, in life everywhare... Wanna learn how to walk, baby starts learning... Wanna learn to write, Practice. Wanna learn lift weights go lift.. Lol the train how you fight is a perfect universal concept. Then only difference are the choices of the individual.. If Cody wants to win. He needs to stand in the middle of that ring and fight the air slowly at first.. He needs to learn his errors of himself.. Noones gonna fight that fight for him, except him and you know that. Cody needs a renovation. HES A GOOD FIGHTER, NATURALLY.. you can see the frustration on his face.. NOONE KNOWS WHAT TO TEACH HIM.. Becaus they are athletes not fighters either.. That why they calling in Van Damn... HE DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. Hes trying to figure himself out.. That loss to TJ damaged him you can tell... It seems like you know only as much as his training camp knows. As I said I do agree with aspects of things you said but for the most part. We are pretty much not on the same page with.. What i think are big things.. Bleasings to you brother.

universalpopper That was a serious statement. (if you understand training)... I meant no offense. Clearly, I can see that you understand how these things work.. I think thoery and current regimens have to be challenged... Or fighters can't excel the way they should. Not that some of it doesnt work. Most of it works. I've just personally found things within training that work better. I think those small things are always gonna separate the muzzle from the trigger. Tkd sparring for muscle memory is good. The only problem i have with that, is the lack of power, Weak kicks... Personally and seriously, ive been training since I was 5 and in sevral disiplines 7 to be exact... Im not jerking your chain either... I'm serious about Every word I'm about to say to you... I know what its like to have a foxes in the den.. And to deal with it... I also understand Competetion. Weather small federation stuff here, or big stuff in Thailand... Personally ive developed beyond that since then... The fact remaines, that Every one sees everyone at some point. There is a witness to everything.. Im not talking about invIsible ones... Give people what they can claim for themselves, not what they cannot have.. They can only see what you give them. I truly am and being very serious... I agree with a lot of what you said.. As you agreed with some things Iv said... Yes that's athletics and technical training.. When it comes to combat mentality, I have found that, the "train how you fight" to be authentic, and automatic, like a machine that only does what it does, but does not chose. Feelings get in the way of fight capabilities.. As you expressed indiretly... My philosophies line up together. Even though we disagree about small portions.. Those are big portions. Thanks again brother for clarifying whare you stand. I appreciate it.. Best wishes to you. Naaa, Tj, really?? You think so? Jones, never liked the guy... PED'd out, guys been transforming for a long time. Def Juicing! The Brazilians are all juicing.. Dont wanna generalize but what's said is said is said.... And yes def RDA.. God bless to you as well Brother.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qITOkKqcf7CgnLc
