This song is based on an old Cherokee grandfather teaching his grandson about life. Grandfather said there's a fight going on inside of me. It's a terrible fight between two wolves. One is evil he is anger, sorrow, Envy, regret, arrogance, self-pity, greed, guilt, resentment, inferiority, false Pride, superiority, and ego. He said to his grandson the other is good he is love, joy, peace, hope, sincerity, kindness, empathy, benevolence, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. Grandfather said the same fight is going on inside of you and inside of every person to. The grandson thought about it for a while and then said which one will win grandfather the old Cherokee replied which one you feed.

Addiction is a symptom. What helps the most at least in my opinion is getting away from the noise and the lights and being willing to dive deep in yourself and see the things you've been avoiding. Horses help to. If ever interested in going really deep look up Carl Jung.

As humans we ALL fall. Just keep getting back up and moving forward. I quit more times than I care to admit. Finally realized that my entire life, many people said I was the most stubborn people they'd ever met. I figured if that's right then I'm stubborn enough to quit. January 1, 2015 at approximately 1:00 am I put that stubborn to work. First 3 - 6 months were rough, then it was a few years before I felt strong enough to be around people who drank. HOLD FAST.

One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. “My dear one, the battle between two ‘wolves’ is inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other is good. It is: joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.” The grandson thought about it for a moment and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee replied, “The one you feed.”

I knew this artwork was a play on the good wolf/bad wolf dilemma. An old Indian man told his grandson "in every man, there are two wolves, struggling for control of his soul." the grandsons response was: "which one wins?" the answer: "the one you feed the most" this is one of your best, cody!
@willardhoward51415 жыл бұрын
Good words. That internal battle. As old as humanity itself. That existential dichotomy. The Yin and the Yang. But which one to feed? Why not both?
@kristaberck68215 жыл бұрын
Willard Howard you should feed both, but not overfeed either. you may need the bad wolf someday and he must be ready when that day comes, lest you become food for someone else's bad wolf.

I am the river that flows through my veins I am the black crow, I'm wings of change I am the rock that the rain couldn't conquer I'm above, I'm below, I am hell and high water I've been the song carried in on the breeze I've wept with willows and I've fell with the leaves I am the badlands and the silence it holds A warrior who walks but is never alone There's a black and a white wolf in me And I live and I die By which one I feed It's a war old as time, this fighting inside And I live and I die By which one I feed I am the hunted and I am the hunter I am the feast and the famine, the hunger I am the eagle screaming for peace While the beasts on the inside sharpen their teeth There's a black and a white wolf in me And I live and I die By which one I feed It's a war old as time, this fighting inside And I live and I die By which one I feed There's a black and a white wolf in me And I live and I die By which one I feed It's a war old as time, this fighting inside And I live and I die By which one I feed Which one I feed I am the river that flows through my veins I am the black crow, I'm wings of change

@@mtnmama4076 oh I like Eric church but hes too pop. Not as traditional. He hasnt gone full blown pop country he has a good mix. But I dont think he is filling the shoes of country music legends.
