I used to work at a country club, and let me tell you, some of them elderly gals will be prim, proper, and absolutely scalding of your etiquette, while their husband is on the golf course with a literal zip locked bag full of cocaine. The handshake is really good for professional environments and so is the small talk. In more casual settings perhaps the conversions dont need to remain light, but the rules on how to intoduce folks to other friends and how to interact with new people you've never spoken to are highly relevant.

I thought this for a second but my brother is a chef and in a fancy expensive restaurant this is good because you do want them to see it. If you’re paying A TON for food and it’s got something weird in it or it’s cooked wrong they will hopefully see it and ask you what the problem was and then hopefully offer a solution so then you don’t have to be a Karen and bring it up. I feel like it’s the most polite way to say “hey there’s something wrong with my food”. Cause it’s not often as an adult ordering your own food being able to read a menu that you get your food and spit something out. Because you know what you’re ordering so you probably like it or like the idea of it. So it’s likely to be an issue with how it was cooked or there was something weird in it.
