When dhar mann said to cody "not everybody speaks english as their first language" the sketches all suddenly made so much more sense to me ?? like to native english speakers, the simple dialogue, simple characters, and Very enunciated words can seem like you're being talked down to, but when you take into consideration people still learning english or just aren't as confident in the language, the simpleness is more helpful than anything else. There's also the english speaking disabled community, as there are MANY disabilities where easily understood content like his is important (I'm kind of embarrassed i didn't think of that one myself, as i myself am in the disabled community, but i suppose I just have more trouble with reading than any kind of auditory processing disorder...) Without that perspective, it's easy to find the conclusion that dhar mann isn't a good writer, or is lazy, but seeing him talk about it with cody really showed that he just really cares about his content's accessibility. not everyone wants super complex storylines and crazy ambitious content, sometimes an audience just wants to watch something simple that makes you feel nice, and making content to fulfill that is just as admirable as any other kind of online content. It was also nice to see cody reevaluate his opinion on something. It's a hard thing to do, especially when you were so vocal about it. It's very mature of him, and an excellent example for younger people, and i suppose it's also a lesson to be learned from this video lmao
