I hated bad boys for life when I saw that movie on january of 2020 I felt triggered and depressed because at the start of the movie I felt triggered and angry when will smith character and martin lawrence were on screen on that 2020 film. Because that trigger was probably a prediction of police brutality or a pandemic or before will smith slap. and I hate 2022 because of bullshit uvalde texas school because that school looks stupid and that was before I started taking antidepressants in the summer of 2022 but bad boys ride or die was WAY better than bad boys for life. Bad boys for life is one of worst one's in the series

Just wanted to give a little update on the criticism about them replacing Marcus's wife: Apparently the actress who was her previously, Theresa Randle, was apparently on a walker and was said to be "sick." She was also spotted on Skid Row as well. Not sure of all the details, but it seems the executives and crew had to make a decision and replace her for health reasons. I know it's jarring but I just found this out myself. That might be the context for the re-cast.

Literally such a badass movie!! The action and especially camera work was incredible! This one ranks with the second easily!! The choreography and action was incredible. This movie cant get enough praise. Martin lawrence especially took over this film imo 😅

As a point of reference, I enjoy the first two Bad Boys films as solid movies from Michael Bay. However, those have never been some of my go-to movies that I love going back to. Even with me not being a big fan of those first two, I think Bad Boys for Life is the best of the three. With all of that out of the way, I saw this movie last night and had a blast. Smith and Lawrence still have great chemistry, the action sequences are exciting, the side characters stand on their own two feet, and I found several moments of the film to be very funny, even though I can see some Bad Boys fans not liking the humor too much. Overall, I think the franchise is on a hot streak. I certainly wouldn’t mind another one of these.

The panic attacks part had nothing to do with being old. It was about Mike losing people that he loves. That definitely went over your head other than that the age thing was definitely not overdone. And the comedy was the perfect mix of slapstick. This is definitely better than bad boys for life.

I grew up with Will Smith movies in 2000 and 2001, when everybody watched TV, I saw Bad Boys (1995), The Independence Day (1996), Men in Black (1997) and Wild Wild West (1999) on TV. Later came Men in Black II (2002), Bad Boys II (2003), I, Robot (2004), I Am Legend (2007) and Hancock (2008). From new movies I saw I, Robot (2004) in theaters in 2004.

Not sure if it was only one or several but the cage in the plane was on some pulley system. So that helped with the weight when they grabbed the rope. Still definitely with a lot of FF vibes though...

Dam Cody! You are hitting some good points about this movie. I think Bad Boys: For Life is still my favorite movie in the franchise. Bad Boys: Ride or Die had some good action sequences, the humor was way too over the top for me, and it just felt like I was watching a movie generated by AI.

This was the closest ive seen Martins character act like he did in the first film which is a major plus for me…the first film he seemed more annoyed about the gun fights than the fact they were getting into them and each film until this one he acted like u said had a gimmick or something making him the scared or reluctant one…which is a step away from the original film until this film

Glad to hear that it’s a solid summer blockbuster. While I haven’t yet seen the film, it sounds like while the third one (my personal favorite) was aimed more for fans of the first whereas this one is for fans of the second, which I also enjoyed despite the ridiculousness of it all. The last thing I’ll bring up is that Adil and Bilall are rumored to be one of the many options that could direct Spider-Man 4 in the MCU. If they have a good script that focuses on the street-level aspect (in contrast to Sony’s plans), would you honestly prefer that?

Your review was spot on with basically every point I had as well. I'm a die hard Bad Boys fan.. I've seen the first one probably 30 times and the sequels many times over. This is probably my least favorite of the franchise (it's still a great movie) but I agree I don't love the direction they took Marcus's character and I want to see Mike as a bad ass, not a softie. Overall, still a fun movie and I hope they continue the franchise. Oh.. and the REGGIE scene had me clapping in my seat.. loved it!

This was the best Bad Boys movie hands down! I've always loved the 2nd one as well since high school. I enjoyed the 3rd one and the style but this one was off the Chai. I was laughing my butt off and the action and story was smart. The villain was also cool as hell. 10/10

Well its not as good as the critics say it is. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. Its somewhere in the middle. The best thing about this movie is the pairing of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence and you have to credit the 2 actors that their combination is still a good enough foundation for a movie. But this movie is more of all seen that done that. A plot that you probably saw in dozens of action movies in the 90's and 2000's. An update was required and while this movie isn't bad or boring it feels that Smith and Lawrence's storylines have just not been updated. The previous one was far better.

Yea this is more of a part 2 to 3 instead of a part 4 because 3 had a drop off ending and the post credits scene of 3 is an exact scene of this one this had that full ending and a perfect way to end the series right here I wasn’t into the movie till Martin was on the roof in the hospital Goan this isn’t a spoiler it’s been a few of the trailers but the second he woke up in the hospital and just had that break down that is when I was all in and from that point till the credits hit it’s the best bad boys movie ever made especially that jelly bean scene that had me laughing the hardest they built a perfect trilogy here this will be the best trilogy of all time if they end here
