I was definitely let down by dominion but I think I still prefer it over Fallen Kingdom. Also I am surprised by the majority of people’s opinion on the Lost World. It easily my second favorite but I guess that more controversial than I thought.

The lost world has always been my favorite. That one just had the best scenes out of all of them. Of course the first one was definitely the most well made story wise but I’ve just always found myself putting the lost world on the most.

TLW was my favorite as a kid, and only as I got older did I start to appreciate the 1993 film more. I think TLW has better-looking dinosaurs than any of the films that followed it, aside from the obviously CGI stegosauruses. JPIII did have a great raptor design, but they didn't feel real.

One of the best parts of "Jurassic Park" is the music, and the use of it. The scene where Grant and the others see the dinosaurs for the first time, with the soft score slowly building. It's emotional, man, John Williams captures their awe, shock, and joy. Love it!

Rewatched TLW yesterday and it’s just as entertaining as the original with much more of a horror aspect to it. Easily a forever #2 no matter how much more they try to milk this franchise. - the raptor field sequence was awesome - every single T Rex scene was iconic in this film, especially the tent scene. - it still had the same magic as the original but wasn’t quite there. Still infinitely better than any of this new trilogy shit.

I’m with you. Lost world is #2 and #3 isn’t even close. It’s a decent sized step down from the first movie but the magic is still there. I wasn’t impressed with a single one of the world films.

I love The Lost World. It's my favorite film in the series, personally. The first film may be the better one on an objective level. I won't argue with anyone who says it's the best of the franchise and ranks it at number 1. But, I prefer TLW. For me, it took what was awesome about the first one and dialed it up to 11. It has a lot more dino action in it with a HUGE body-count. The highest one until Jurassic World came out. I guess that's why you said it has more of a horror aspect to it. It feels more like a monster-movie, I guess. I was actually quite shocked to find out that it's not popular amongst Jurassic fans and often appears towards the bottom of people's rankings. I will never understand that.

I don’t get why JP3 is treated like such a black sheep. It’s not good, but it doesn’t do anything lore breaking either. It’s basically just a theme park ride going from setpiece to setpiece with no downtime. Fallen Kingdom would be my least favorite because it’s just so dumb and it’s clearly a movie they made just to set up Dominion. JW1 is my favorite Jurassic Park sequel personally. The Lost World was too boring and had some weird editing along with a nonsensical ending. Jurassic Park 1 is a classic film and genuinely great, and I’m not saying anything controversial there

For me my rankings would be literally the way the order the films were released JP in first, JP Lost world in 2nd, JP 3 in third, Jurassic world in 4th, JW Fallen Kingdom 5th, and Dominion in 6th. I don’t hate any of these movies I enjoy all of them but I always think the original trilogy is better than the JW trilogy cause of the characters, the practical effects with the dinosaurs, and I have lots of nostalgia behind my rankings.

1. Jurassic Park: Of course. It was the first of its kind and it still holds up today. 2. The Lost World JP: This was a really great follow-up to Jurassic Park. For me this coincides with Aliens. Make it bigger. There are more dinosaurs, more T-Rex’s, and the thought to capture dinosaur life in the wild led to them making Sorna a biological preserve. 2.5. Cretaceous Camp on Netflix is honestly better than all the “World” movies we got. So shout out to this series. Hehe 3. Jurassic World: in the scope of things, it was cool to see the park reimagined and opened to John Hammond’s vision. Story wise and plot was off - but it led me to believe In-Gen and a rivalry company had a bigger role to play (but we never got that) 4. Jurassic World Domion: It brought back out legacy characters and it was a fun ride. It only has a leg up over Fallen Kingdom because of soooo many plot holes. 5. Jurassic Park III: nostalgia aside, watching this movie now is just unbelievable and terrible writing to get Alan Grant on Sorna. It was meh compared to the other Jurassic movies. 6. Fallen Kingdom: it was a rehash of Lost World. Get dinos off of island. Hire poachers. We want to create a sanctuary. BUT!!! Biosyn already had a sanctuary for dinosaurs that they secured from Isla Sorna. So dinosaurs are already somewhere in the world beside Nublar. What’s the point of that? Lastly the human clone isn’t even a clone after all. She’s an engineered baby, which is something people do. I think they’re called “designer baby”. Fallen Kingdom was just really dumb after Dominion was released. It became a mess with Jurassic World because so many subplots were suggested and hinted at and then never expanded upon.

I love all the films so 1. Jurassic Park: A masterpiece no question doubt. 2. Jurassic Park III: Ok I always loved this movie ever since growing up and was the most re-watchable one, the spinosaurs was a awesome antagonist, the pterodactylz were one of my favorite parts of the movie and yes I hated how they killed the Trex, The raptor scenes were pretty scary and cool. 3. The Lost World Jurassic Park: I watched this a lot of times and I understood what Steven Spielberg was trying to do, The Tall grass scene was my favorite part, The Trex loose in the city was cool and I didn't mind Jeff Goldblum as the main lead, That Ending is so beautiful. 4. Jurassic World: What brings this in 4th place is that I feel like the cast wasn't as good besides Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. 5. Jurassic World Dominion: Man the story really dragged it out but the best part where The cast and The Dinosaurs themselves and visuals. 6. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom: This literally the same formula from The lost World

The issue I had with Dominion was the fact that the trailers spoiled nearly every dinosaur scene that was in the film. Not to mention that every dinosaur only had about 1 minute and 30 seconds of total screen time a piece on average. The Giga which was advertised heavily as the main dinosaur antagonist only has a total of maybe 7 minutes in the film. It just didn't do a well enough job building any sort of tension and the pacing of the film was so off on Dominion. That's why I'd personally rank Dominion as the worst of the series so far.

My ranking 6. JP3( Love the dinos, but a lot of this film feels like it came from a different franchise) 5. FK( Really enjoyed the film, love the Indoraptor even if its my least fav out of the 4 hybrids. But a lot of plot holes & dinos feel like side characters at time) 4. JW( Love the I Rex, kills are awesome, the 3rd act is the best part of this franchise. But its not as good as the top 3) 3. JWD( Nice final chapter, i actually like the locusts UP though, dinos are awesome, nice to see some of the legacy characters, but i wish some characters like Billy & Lex & Tim return back to the film considering its the final chapter, the Giga doesn't do anything like kill someone, and the gore isn't there except when the Therizinosaurus kills a deer. Overall great film) 2. LW( Love the score, kills, how dark it is & the characters. Its a really good film with so many iconic scenes like the trailer attack with the Rexes & the long grass scenes. 1. JP( Obvi the best franchise no film in this franchise can top this classic)

Jurassic Park(1993) NOSTALGiA/PERFECTiON I saw it when I was in kindergarten (1994) with my 8yr old cousin Markus whose mom(my moms sister) rented for him on VHS. Jurassic Park:TLW(1997) EXTREME NOSTALGiA I was 8yrs old & I saw this movie with my DAD[r.i.p sunrise:7-03-63~sunset:3-05-21] my mom & my baby sister at the premiere of it @ the AMC in CityWalk & Universal Studios, CA. We had the BEST seats & it packed, there was no empty seats 5 minutes after we had sat down , I remember my dad buying my sister & i whatever we wanted, I had larger nachos, a hotdog, 5 bags of candy, & a large soda,this was such a memorable experience & I love you, & I miss you so much daddy but I am thankful for all the amazing memories that we shared together, I will NEVER forget you. This movie is still my 2nd favorite JP movie[as ironic as that number is]. Jurassic Park 3 Guilty Pleasure I love everything about JP3, even the TERRiBLE raptor talking to Dr.Grant on the plane scene(& I mean that scene is horrific) I love everything about this movie. Jurassic World PERFECTiON Everything about this movie is perfect to me, it’s the year 2015 in a perfectly imperfect time capsule & iLOVEiT!!!!!! everything after Jurassic World(to me)is 🚮. The thing is most of these species of dinosaurs are still land locked, so even she released them they can't travel independently to other parts of the world. Even the flying species would be hard pressed to make it across the ocean(I guess). So it would never be an extinction level event.

I think the characters are better in The Lost World. I prefer Jeff Goldblum's snarky pessimist as the protagonist, and Julianne Moore's charisma and know-how make her a great co-lead alongside him. And Pete Postlethwaite is a great minor character: a hunter with a conscience. I even kind of like the contribution of Malcolm's daughter, as silly as it is.

Going to see Dominion tonight, my expectations are low. Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies of all time. I agree with your ranking for the most part, I rewatched Jurassic Park 3 and actually enjoyed it alot more compared to the new trilogy. Something about practical effects makes a huge difference. After watching these movies again, I think I can confidently go with the following ranking: 6) Jurassic World: Dominion-- the only one of these six films that I can honestly say disappointed me. Pretty much agree with everything you said in your review. 5) The Lost World: Jurassic Park-- again, I mostly agree with your review. There are some good scenes, but as a whole, I find this story to be a little unmemorable. After watching Dominion for the first time, I wasn't sure if Dominion or The Lost World was my least favorite. After watching them again, it's Dominion without question. 4) Jurassic World-- Definitely fun and I like the return to the old Jurassic Park scene and the commentary on having to engineer dinosaurs to be bigger and meaner with more teeth just to keep the attention of modern audiences. It was hard for me to buy into the Chris Pratt and his trained raptor idea though. I had to warm up to that idea because it was just too silly for me at first. 3) Jurassic Park 3-- again, I pretty much agree with you. I've always liked the pace of this movie, the main Spinasauraus dinosaur was very cool. Alan Grant makes a better lead character than Ian Malcolm and there are some very memorable scenes here packed into a tight 90 minute film. I don't really get the hate for this movie. Well, aside from the talking raptor dream lol. 2) Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom-- the only movie in this franchise where I very much disagree. The opening scene is, in my opinion, THE best opening scene in any of these movies by a mile. But I also like the horror movie feel of this one. I do feel that the disappointment of Dominion kind of weakens this movie just a bit because I thought the ending of this movie set up what could have been my favorite Jurassic sequel (instead of my least). 1) Jurassic Park-- no explanation needed. It's Jurassic Park. Spielberg has made a lot of great movies. This one is probably top 3 for me.

My main gripe about a lot of new movies today is the total reliance on nostalgia and fan pleasing like having original characters come back in minimized and very often dumbed down roles. This combined with over hyped marketing proves that they know that the movie is lacking in some regard and this is their strategy to counteract that as much as possible. We need more original ideas coming out of Hollywood. Enough sequels, remakes, requels, and reboots. They just don’t seem to work anymore.

@@gabrielanthony1129 dialogue isn't natural sounding, it sounds like exposition. The intro of the hunter isn't good writing at all, because he has no introduction, he's just there and tells us exactly what his goal and motives are (a writing no no). The plot is fine, but it requires characters to be stupid to work, such as a predatory animal expert walking around with a bloody coat. I love the ending, but it is a tonal whiplash to the rest of it. It makes sense in that it's not confusing, I'll grant you that.

I’m still recovering from my disappointment in DOMINION. I don’t know what Universal was thinking but hey, JWD raked in some serious cash this weekend which should keep the Jurassic franchise alive and kicking!

Can't agree with you about Lost World. This movie was to Jurassic Park what Aliens is to Alien. A much bigger and more badazz movie than the first. More action, higher stakes. A group of soldiers stuck on an island with monsters trying to kill them. That premise and the King Kong throwbacks especially won me over.

Jurassic Park: Iconic. My favorite movie of all time. Very suspenseful with great dialogue and intelligent characters. T Rex is my favorite dino. The T Rex breakout scene is one of the greatest scenes in movie history. Legendary. I've loved it since I saw it in theaters as a 10 year old ❤ The Lost World is HIGHLY underrated. 2nd favorite in the series. Very dark and suspenseful with great death scenes. I love when Malcolm tells Kelly "We're in a completely different situation" and you hear the T Rex roaring in the distant darkness in the rain. Eddie Carr's death was great. Jurassic Park 3 for the longest time was my least favorite but now it's # 5. I was upset at the young Rex losing to Spino and Grant and Ellie were no longer a couple. It wasn't as suspenseful as the first 2 but had good raptor scenes. Spino was a menace. The Kirby's were ANNOYING. My favorite scene is the raptor running in the background after Amanda hung up the phone. Jurassic World is excellent and my 3rd favorite. The Indominus brought back that old feeling the Rex gave me. The breakout scene in this was excellent as well. My favorite Jurassic fight took place in this film. Rexy, Blue, Mosa vs Indominus. The raptor chase scene in the truck was fun scary. Fallen Kingdom was good. The indoraptor was creepy and a great villain. This is my 4th favorite. This film had, by far, the greatest opening of the series. Rexy and Mosa on Isla Nublar. Didn't dislike the Maisy clone story and didn't care too much for it. Benjamin Lockwood came outta nowhere. Dominion sadly is my least favorite at number 6. I was disappointed in the underusage of the Giga, the locust plot wasn't really necessary, the villains in the beginning didn't do enough, and they cut the Rexy crashing the drive in scene. Positives were Grant and Ellie getting back together, Therizinosaurus scene stalking Claire, seeing the barbasol can, Dilophosaurus making it's return, and old cast meets new. Overall it didn't give me enough to be satisfied with the closing of an iconic series. It's still part of the family.

Great list I would put The Lost World second place legit loved the dark tone of that movie same with JP3. I sure hope we get a JP remake that follows the book someday. I think The Lost World has aged just as well as the original. Especially the CGI. Yeah there a couple of wonky moments but it looks amazing. Remember these visual effects actually broke more ground than the original with one being the first time CGI characters were placed in handheld shots, when the frame was bouncing around and all that. That wasn't even possible to do during the first movie. Not to mention the animatronics being able to pick actors up in their mouths. I also love the story, it's complicated and rich with great layered characters. I love it.

5. The Lost World: Jurassic Park & Jurasic Park III (These two are tied in last place for me because the cast and their chemistry is part of what made that first movie so magical. Splitting these characters up on their own not only highlights how they can't stand on their own, but how boring and forgettable the new characters in these sequels are. These two sequels are also so dull that I can barely make it past 5 minutes sitting down to rewatch either of them.) 4. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (Is this movie perfect? No it's not. However it avoids the mistake the Jurassic Park sequels made and kept Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the same sequel together.) 3. Jurassic World (This movie is perfectly fine. Not great. Not bad. Just fine.) 2. Jurassic World: Dominion (Yes I love this movie. It gave me what I wanted and I had fun. It delivered on what the trailers promised. I got the original trio from Jurassic Park interacting with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and running away from Dinosaurs. The chemistry they all have together is as magical and fun as the original Jurassic Park.) 1. Jurassic Park (The original is a timeless classic that can't be topped, and that is okay.)

6: Jurassic world fallen kingdom. The writing is stupid. The script is the lost world but bigger. And the characters suck especially mazy and the indoraptor is way underused it’s fun of course not bad but forgettable 5: JP the lost world: it’s long and not good. The final scene with the T. rex in San Francisco is awesome better than anything in fallen kingdom. And the writting is good. 4: Jurassic park 3: this is injoyable.. I guess that’s it. The spinosaurus is a good villain 2nd best in the franchise. And that’s it 3: Jurassic world. FIGHT ME! It is great. The indominus Rex is the best part. She is threatening, killer and awesome. The characters are good. The action is awesome! 2: Jurassic world dominion: I know the problems. But I don’t care. It’s lots of fun! The dinosaurs and locust get equal screen time not one over the other. The locust do give some good drama. The old characters are great to see again. Mazy is the best character by far. She is likable, fun, relatable and she is well written. Unlike in fallen kingdom where we don’t care, and she makes bad decisions. Every moment with the dinosaurs is awesome. Blue isn’t here long but her daughter is cute. And the final battle is entertaining enough. This is a great 9/10. 1: if you thought anything else would be better than your dead wrong. Jurassic park: this movie has great writing great direction and great action and great characters. Everything is perfect. Nothing is wrong with this movie. My ranking (based off of my subjective, personal opinion *controversial*): 1. The Lost World: Jurassic Park (I pretty much think this movie & the original are pretty close, the reason I have Lost World higher than the original is because I think Lost World has a more interesting story to it, not to say the 1st movie's story was garbage it's just a little more interesting because there are higher stakes than the 1st one, instead of a group of people at risk it's likely a whole nation/continent at risk much like the "idea" dominion takes on, I'm going to say it Vince Vaughn is very underrated in that movie, it's one of the only times when he takes a more serious role that he us actually good in, and there are more dinosaurs in this movie, whish they included the diloposarus, though not all of the characters are as good as the ones from the first film) 2. Jurassic Park (say what I just said about Lost World but this movie in my eyes is more like "Hey we can make dinosaurs look real again, and while your ingesting this special effects galore there is a theme park that blows to hell and the survivors need to reboot the system" while Lost World is more like "Hey remember the first one, well we're going to do the same thing but with more story & higher stakes to it, there are two teams the gathers & the hunters, can the gathers stop the hunters from bringing the dinosaurs to the mainland to avoid further loss of human life, watch the movie to find out" 3. Jurassic World: Dominion (now before you say anything, yes the ending is underwhelming, and yes there should've been more dino action in it, as well as a few other things like diving deep into the clone girl ascetic & retconing how the dinosaurs can reproduce was a little dumb, but to be honest those problems never bothered me, the rest of the criticism gets I don't get, and if I did see some problems it was more less a raindrop in an ocean for me) 4. Jurassic World (not a bad movie, and for a while it was my favorite theater experience I've had until Ghostbusters: Afterlife came out, then Dominion came out and became my favorite theater experience) 5. Jurassic Park III (while it has some good dinosaurs & fun action scenes, there is not a whole lot to this movie) 6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (basacly Lost World on Nublar but less interesting, not to mention the villains are a little too mustache twirling for my taste) I'm sure someone is going to send a sniper after me for my rankings but please understand why I rank the movies the way I do, because I am more of a story first guy (with the acception of the Big Lebowski) feel free to disagree with my ranking in a respectful way, but please don't be an asshole about it (examples threatening me or harassing me)

AYYY AWESOME TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE WHO PLAYS JURASSIC WORLD: EVOLUTION. Did you used to play Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis? Also here’s my ranking. 6. Jurassic World: Dominion - 29% (Garbage: the concept Fallen Kingdom setup was completely tossed to the side for locusts and a kidnapping. This movie also does not feel like a Jurassic Park movie) 5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 38% (Awful: Not as bad as Dominion but still terrible. The first act on the island was all around pretty decent but after that it again doesn’t really feel like a Jurassic Park film) 4. The Lost World: Jurassic Park - 66% (Alright: A big jump from 5-4 here. This is an alright film as even though I don’t care for most of the characters, there’s still a good amount of fun dinosaur sequences). 3. Jurassic Park lll - 81% (Great: I have a lot of nostalgia for this movie but this movie is genuinely a ton of fun. It’s great to have Grant back as the lead and the pacing is really fast making this very entertaining). 2. Jurassic World - 96% (Amazing: I also have nostalgia for this movie but I have so much fun with Jurassic World. The action is awesome, the plot is actually pretty smart and I enjoyed the characters). 1. Jurassic Park - 100% (All-Time: It’s just a timeless classic).
