I really enjoyed this review series. Well done sir! You also unknowingly achieved the impossible and motivated me to watch the entire franchise. I never had much desire to watch these films and figured that I missed the boat on them. I saw the end of Rocky 4 in college and watched Creed 2 on the plane to China in 2019. I really liked the Drogo storyline, but otherwise, had no desire to watch the others. After watching the first few episodes of your review series, I watched the entire franchise in a week to prepare for Creed 3. I loved all the films. Here is my ranking. Most to least! 1. Creed 2 2. My Mom loves the Rocky franchise and when I was little, I thought they were boring, except for Rocky IV so I have some nostalgia attached to this particular Rocky movie.

I love all these films. Usually I just watch them in a row and my ranking is pretty much the watch order but Rocky 4 is my favorite. But i really love going through the franchise in order. 1. Rocky 2- best final fight & my favorite ending of a fight. 2. Rocky 3- I love Mr T & this movie gives me more of my 3 favorite franchise characters 3. Creed- probably most well made movie 4. Creed 3- on 2nd watch this climbed up the list & I almost want to say best Creed movie but I'm gonna wait 5. Rocky Balboa- controversial but Little Marie is my favorite female character in the franchise over Adrian & Bianca 6. Creed 2- giving the drago's more depth & the throwing of the towel was a pleasant surprise. 7. Rocky- great movie but there are 3 particular movies higher up on the list that I believe are better versions of the same story (Rocky 2, Creed, Rocky Balboa) 8. Rocky V- love the risk Stallone took & street fight is my 3rd favorite fight 9. Rocky vs Drago- 2nd best final fight & not as cheesy. 10. I haven't seen creed 3 yet so my ranking would have to go 9: rocky 5 (ok but the plot is illogical 8: creed (good but it feels like more of the same) 7: rocky 4 (fun but cheesy at times) 6: rocky Balboa (good nostalgia trip) 5: rocky vs drago( a more serious and tonally consistent version of 4) 4: creed II ( a great story about Legacy and atonement) 3: rocky III (fun action packed film about Rocky getting his Edge back) 2: rocky II ( essentially an epilogue to the original film and I love that) 1: rocky ( a pure classic with great atmosphere, writing, characters and plot. Very inspirational movie)

Mine is the most controversial of al time and mine goes like this: (1.) Creed and wait fot it..... (2.) Rocky V (Yep R5. I love how Rocky returned to his roots because the political patriot version of Rocky was too cartoonish and unrealistic and I love how it touched on the issue of fatherhood and when the son is not getting the attention needed by the father, the son can easily become the product of the streets. Your critique of Adonis lashing out at people @16:10 proves my point whey fatherhood is so crucial. U see the difference between Viktor who grew up with his pops compared to Adonis who was a product of the streets because his father passed away. and I love the street fighting also. (3.) Rocky I (4.) Creed II ( a very good follow up of the first installment and it cleared the silly cartoon mess from Rocky IV and make it more realistic and plausible, particularly with the fighting scenes) (5.) Rocky Balboa (6.) Rocky III (7.) Rocky IV: Director's Cut (8.) Rocky II (9.) Rocky IV (The weakest of the series. It never felt like a Rocky movie with the exceptions of the training montages and the final fight but other than that, Rocky converting to the political world and Rocky all of a sudden a envoy and an ambassador of America? Not likely. Rocky is no politician and the fighting scenes was too unrealistic. I understand that it's just a movie but "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler said that Stallone hurt a lot of boxers when he did Rocky IV. He said: "How can you get knocked down 13 times and still get up and win?" Judge Mills Lane said that if he was a referee of that Rocky/Drago fight, he would have stopped the fight in the first round. Rocky IV was maybe the most fun as far as entertainment, but definitely the weakest of the series as far as realistic mechanics is concerned.

I haven’t seen all of the Creed movies yet, but out of the originals, Rocky II is probably my favorite. For the reasons you mentioned, the training sequence, the final fight, Rocky and Apollos lives post fight. But in a way, as far as them making Rocky appear dumb, I agree to a point. But also, in Rocky’s defense kind of, he was a street slugger with a 9th grade level education suddenly thrown into fame and riches. So I think, in a way, the reason he made such unwise decisions such as buying expensive watches, a car he couldn’t drive well at all, and a house he only saw the living area and kitchen of, was resonant of him feeling as though he was somewhat untouchable now?

I always find it fucking difficult, almost impossible to seperate Rocky Balboa and Creed 2.. and watching your video, AGAIN, you nailed it, Dixon was a dickhead!! I absolutely love Rocky 4(theatrical) I've seen it over 30 times easily, and quote it to this day. That being said, that movie is dumb as bricks. Haha. Me and my family love it cause we always treated it as half a comedy. So many ludicrous plot points and lines of dialogue. It's absolutley bonkers, that's what makes it so entertaining.

Been watching your review series and so I watched Creed and Creed 2 yesterday for the first time so I'm gonna give you MY opinion on your take on the franchise. Buckle up. Rocky 2 - you just don't get it. The 30 minutes of the movie that you find boring is the segment I enjoy MOST about this movie. I relate to this part of the movie so much. I've been in this position in my life - struggling to pay the bills, going from job to job and not being a good fit, not living up to my potential yet feeling there is no othe way out. Cody, you've obviously never been in this positition so it escapes you. Rocky 3 - again, you missed the point. You have no idea what it's like to acheive a level of success and to be knocked off the pedestal. I can relate so much to Rocky trying to stage the ultimate comeback and regain the edge that he lost... Rocky 4 - I saw the Director's Cut when it first came out. It was a nice alternative take to Rocky 4. But I far and away prefer the real version of the movie. I have no desire to watch the Directors cut again. Creed: You are correct sir, most fans had zero expectations when this movie came out. That's because these type of spinoffs are usually horrible. Movie watching fans currently lack nuance: they judge movies either as "the best ever" 10/10 or they say it's a total piece of shit. And BECAUSE Creed wasn't a total piece of shit - people automatticaly jump to it's "10/10". I beg to differ. I found it just "okay". It was fine. Creed 2: The best part of the movie was the 5 minute scene between Drago and Rocky. Otherwise, I was completely BORED. It was a struggle to get through both Creed movies honestly. You keep saying that the music in Rocky 5 is "dated" well I hate to break it to you but the music in the Creed movies is INSTANTLY dated as it's full of the shitty mainstream music of today. Without Sly, I won't be watching Creed 3. And my Rocky boxset is complete with Rocky 1-6 (Rocky Balboa). Cheers

I've just realized: in just 2 years, we had 2 genre-establishing movies that as of 2023 are STILL holding up as best ever: Rocky (1976) for sport movies and Jaws (1975) for animal-related horror movies. And yet, every time we have to judge a movie in the same ballpark, we still say "Yeeeeah... but Jaws/Rocky did better".

I really like the franchise, but I personally think it got a little too goofy after 'Bride of Rocky' (then it hit an all-time low with 'Seed of Rocky') ;)

I'm glad I'm not alone in liking Rocky 5. I really didn't think it was that bad, but is the weakest of the series. And I especially like how it's back to being filmed in my old neighborhood

I don’t care what anyone says Rocky V is good. I agree street fight is awesome. It’s weird to realize that Rocky’s last official fight is in Rocky 3 vs Clubber Lang, 3 also has my favorite training montage with Apollo. Rocky 2 I like to Rocky proposes to Adrian at the zoo where the driver of Gazzo trying to provoke in him in original movie tells Rocky to take her to the zoo because he hears…you know
