The Loomis character is so important because the characters around him are pretty grounded, there for it makes him seem crazy, but when Michael Myers comes out Loomis isnt the crazy one anymore. It gives so much depth when he speaks those lines of dialogue about blackness and evil. When everyone is saying it the meaning kinda dies.

Few things. 1. I think the whole thing with the 2nd mental patient not looking like Michael at all is supposed to show how blind the mob was even to the obvious. I totally agree with you and that’s the only way I could justify the decision. 2. I like that they are keeping Michael in tact as a character, that he is just a mindless shark moving from kill to kill. Makes me wonder if Michael would have just remained in his house for the rest of his life and not killed anyone. 3. Michael carved up the cops head outside Lori’s house in the last movie so Michael did display victims in that movie. 4. Tommy Doyle literally lookin like Elmer Fudd walking through Haddonfield. “Oooooo I’m gonna get dat kiwwer!”

Well if you look back in the 78 film Michael is already in his house and that's when Laurie strode came up and then he followed her . I think the premise is that he kills always on Halloween night in tribute or in a remeberence to what he did that night too Judith myers.

The actor who played Michael did fantastic when staring down the mob. Whipping his head like an animal, observing them and defiantly putting his Face back on. Truly getting across the point that even though Michael has a human face, that and his body are just the vessel for him being truly a fiend without a face.

I just saw it tonight and despite a few stupid characters traits, I actually really enjoyed it for what it was... A 'filler' between the beginning and the end. It was actually nice to see the reactions of the towns people to the murder spree of the previous film, instead of usually ignoring them. Like seeing Oscars Mum react in the hospital. I know that it was extremely scarce on a plot, but I understood that going in and treated it like a continuation of the 2018 night... Which is exactly what it was meant to be! I also did enjoy that they side-lined the main three for this film too. It made it different, otherwise it would've just been a repeat of the 2018 film. It wasn't amazing by any means, but I'm definitely looking forward to the finale. Ps... the 1978 scene was unreal and by far the best part of the film!

One of the problems I have with this movie and the 2018 film is the lack of stalking. In the original film, he chooses his victims carefully and then waits till the time is right to kill them. He slowly picks them off one by one and doesn't just kill them at the first opportunity. There is a method to his madness. That's a part of his character that was missing in these new films.

Part of me is hoping that Halloween Ends reveals that everything after the mob beating was all in Michael's head. As he's being beaten to near death, his synapses are firing, and he's just having what amounts to, essentially, a dying dream, and he manufactures this scenario where he magically stands up, kills everyone, then teleports back to his sister's room and kills Karen.

Worst part for me was the public in the movie not knowing who Mike Myers is or what he looks like. I’ve always liked the Loomis speeches in Halloween because it’s from him that we learn Michael is evil, not just a killer, but a dark force. But you are right, it doesn’t sit well when we hear it from anyone else. I think it was the juxtaposition of him being a professional in the field to treat people like Michael and yet he’s so adamant that can’t be done and they need to kill him. It still blows my mind. Either he’s right or he is a terrible doctor who has lost it big time.

, the idea of the mob thinking the escaped patient was Michael, That goes back to the original movie when Loomis told Brackett not to alert the town because it would cause a panic. People would see Michael on every street corner....Etc. That's exactly what happened in that hospital with an angry mob out for blood. So I don't have a problem with that scene. As for saying that the people should've been able to recognize Michael because his face was probably shown all over the news after the 1978 murders? That was 40 years ago, Michael is now gray and balding with a mustache and beard. He would look nothing like Tony Moran (Who played Michael in that one scene) did in 1978 when Laurie pulled his mask off.

I agree pretty much everything what you said. The main positives were; Michael. James Jude Courtney once again nailed the character imo. He's up there with Castle as THE Michael Myers. The fire scene was pretty well done and Michael emerging from the flaming house looked badass. The mask. Once again, it looked fantastic imo. Esp with the burnt half in some shots. The flashback sequence. They did a great job of recreating that. The part with Loomis was well done. They did the best they could with the mask. The bit where Myets walks out and just stands there was excellent. Some of the lighting and cinematography once again was spot on in this. Just like with H2018. That they got right. As well as most of the score. Although I wasn't a fan of the techno bit when allyson falls down the stairs and Michael walks down. The kills were brutal and varied. Myers was very angry in this one that's for sure. The main negatives; Pretty much everything else. The OG characters were so underused and/or used incorrectly. Tommy Doyle being the most frustrating. The whole mental patient thing was just ridiculous and made no sense to me. I was watching it like "Why is this a thing and why is it still going on" The ending I'm not a big fan of either. They should have went with the other ending of Laurie phoning Karen but Myers picking the phone up and you just hear breathing. There were other negatives too, like the stupid choices constantly being made by characters and some of the dialogue once again making no sense. 'EVIL DIES TONIGHT' Please don't say that again! I find this new trilogy so frustrating as thry do some great things right. But seen to get a lot of importance things wrong and those negatives overshadow the films for me.

It was pure idiocy. They literally shot Michael numerous times in the torso, watch him turn over and try to reach for his knife without any indication he was dying. Once they grounded him, they should've gone for the head. It also didn't make sense how he took stabbings to the stomach by Allyson with no problem but gets stunned by her mother using a rake, and later after being beaten by the mob. It's kinda inconsistent with the kind of damage he can take before being downed or stunned. Either that, or Michael likes to lure people into a false sense of security.

That's what really brought the movie down; the idiocy of all the other characters. It also annoyed me how no one thought to consult Laurie or her family before going after Michael since they have the most experience combating him. It makes her character under utilized somewhat.

Here’s my nitpick: Two movies and everyone more or less knows that Myers is about. Why did no one tell the couple to leave the Myers house? No call? No police visit? Nothing? I guess everyone just kind of forgot.
@andyholland21303 жыл бұрын
Who was around to alert the couple living in the Myers house that Michael goes home after he kills? The sheriff in the original movie is in his 70s and busy with the scene at the hospital, Hawkins is in the hospital, nearly dead and everyone else who knows that is dead. No one else on the police force more or less even know anything about Michael and the sheriff completely blew off the big deal of him being loose in the 2018 movie. Everyone in this universe has been running on the assumption of Michael’s motivations from Loomis and Laurie. In this timeline, only Hawkins seems to know Michael just wants to go home and just kills whoever is in his way or comes to his house. Hawkins didn’t even make that conclusion until the end of the movie.
@xengar3 жыл бұрын
@@andyholland2130 The couple isn't killed off until past the midpoint. By then, everyone knows. The townspeople have time to make posses, patrol streets, cause riots but no one thought to check the one house that Michael will inevitably return to? Just like before? In a world of unlimited texting no less.
@andyholland21303 жыл бұрын
@@xengar So in this timeline, Micheal has been unleashed in Haddonfield on two nights. The first being obviously in 1978 and the second being in 2018 and this movie. Michael went home only one time before. Everyone involved with the first night is either retired, dead, hospitalized (Hawkins), Brackett. Hawkins didn’t even put it together until towards the climax and only came to that conclusion because of his mother forcing him to play with Michael as a child. Lonnie figured it out while mapping out reported sighting of Michael. No one else has put that together yet that his motivation is to just go home. One of the biggest points that was driven home with the mob riot was most of the town doesn’t even know what Michael looks like let alone where he’s headed.
@xengar3 жыл бұрын
@@andyholland2130Every time a Halloween film takes place in Haddonfield, Michael always returns to his house. Sometimes it’s early, sometimes it’s late; but when this movie puts such a heavy emphasis on the community of Haddonfield, it’s odd that nobody thought to let the couple know. Myers’ motivation aside, Tommy never thought to check? Marion? Hell, Laurie is so safety obsessed, you’d think she’d kept an eye on the Myers house all these years.
@andyholland21303 жыл бұрын
@@xengar And in this timeline it’s only the second time it’s happened. None of those characters are even aware of this behavior. You’re confusing information that the audience has for information the characters have.

I've seen it twice, and am kind of still processing.. First of all, GREAT analysis and despite a few items that you openly admit were nitpicky, I feel that you're watchable because it's obvious that it comes from a place of love. You want the movie to blow you away and anything short of that will be taken to task Secondly, I saw it last night and couldn't stop smiling because the one thing you touched on but didn't drive home was how BRUTAL the kills were. Cameron's kill was legit hard to watch, not to the mention the older couple, Big John which you touched on and the spoiled by every trailer fire fighter kill orgy. Michael was in the warpath and from a "I'm here for gruesome kills" perspective, this movie ranks #1 in the franchise and its not close. Even the RZ satellite movies weren't this brutal and in your face Courtney is the best MM and yes that's ahead of Nick Castle as well, who I know everyone loves and rightfully so. If Halloween was just a book series and your mind had to invent what Michael looks like and feels like when you see him, Courtney IS Michael Myers in my mind Great stuff and would love to buy you a beer and talk more about it with you, if that opportunity randomly presented itself...lol
