I think it is great that not only do you say own your success but own your failure. We learn alot from our failures to improve in the future. It is ok to not succeed right away. Also of course talking about your self esteem growing up i think helps so many kids know they need to be comfortable with themselves! YOu are not only Olmpian in the sport but in life!

at my high school, everyone laughs at me when I say I’m a swimmer. the people in my class tell me it’s an activity or a hobby, not a sport. is getting up at 4:30 to swim, a hobby? is buying a $400 racing suit a hobby? they laugh at me because I wear a cap and they tell me that they work so much harder. they tell me that they’re way better at swimming then me, and they say it’s easy. at this point I’ve just about had enough and I don’t know whether to change schools, quit swimming or what. some people might tell me to ignore it or don’t let them get to you but when it’s day in and day out, I can’t ignore it. I mean I’m the only competitive swimmer at my school and there’s only 15 kids on the swim team. the coach is a teacher and he just sits on his phone and asks me to teach people how to dive and flip when I want to help myself achieve goals. in the yearbook, swimming isn’t even considered a sport, were labelled as the swim club. I’m 13 and I started competitive swimming just before I turned 12. I barely knew how to swim but I worked my butt off for 2 years now. my 50 free time is 28.92 I’m pretty proud of that but apparently it’s easy and everyone can do it. I respect people who play hockey or soccer or baseball or basketball because I know they probably work just as hard. but why do I have to be labelled as a ‘club’ when I train 6 days a week morning and night and get home and do hours of homework. this was a long rant but I just wanted to put it out there to tell non-swimmers that just because something looks easy doesn’t mean it is. loved the video Cody, thank you for inspiring me everyday and encouraging all of us to always do our best♥︎♥︎ p.s I should mention I’m not from the US so I’m guessing you guys have more dedicated high school swim teams and actual coaches ??

Julia Rubino, keep going! Ignore them and show them who you are! The fact you have been swimming for two years and would be pretty fast in a us competitive meet is amazing. Ignore them, you’re really good and never give up. It isn’t easy, swimming isn’t easy but plz never give up and just block them. Go for your dreams. Good luck! 👍🏻 you got this! I know that it isn’t hard for you to ignore it, but your talented. You’re a gift and tbh I would call you inspiring. Those kids are jealous. I know I’m like the people who say ignore them, but you’re amazing and just never quit. Don’t let them stop you from your dreams

It took me until I was 17 to go a 28... (That's mostly because that's when I started... I technically did middle School, but do to my Asma and overall laziness I never actually worked in practice. I learned decent technique, that's about it) working hard at something feels good which is why I'm swimming outside of Highschool even though out of Highschool I wasn't fast enough to swim college (I go to a community college that doesn't have a team), at this point a good majority of D3 schools would probably take me, hard work pays off, I've dropped 16 seconds off my Highschool 200 IM time, 12 seconds off my 100 butterfly, and 8 seconds off my 100 breaststroke, and March was the last time I swam short course. (Did summer long course season of pain) I'll likely make even more drops this short course season. Also good way to show them up, tell them that if they think it's so easy why don't they try it for a day, they will than think that it's less easy and dumb (make sure that they witness a 100 butterfly, and than you can watch them fail a 25).

In my school, 2/1000 students are competitive swimmers. I go to middle school so there is no swim team, and I just try to avoid the topic when I’m around my friends

Best superpower would be having a "save & load" power, where you could save one moment in time, say before making a hard decision, then if you chose the worst outcome, load back and chose the better one

I am a former swimmer. But I dont know how to swim now. I am good then but I stoo for 3 years. I dont know how to get back in to it. Now I am jealous of my former swim mates because they’re faster than me. (I just want to say that I dont call myself a swimmer anymore because I am just a kid whos fast back then but its just sad to see me like this being weak and having sick always).

Hey so I don’t know if you’re going to see this but like how do you stay motivated because I’ve been loosing all of my motivation and I just don’t try at practice like I used too anymore and I am just on the verge of quitting so idk if you would have any tips but I’m just struggling so much mentally and idk what to do also my coach doesn’t really focus on everyone mainly the fast people and I’m really not one of them I’m kind of in the middle and it’s just I would love if my coach payed attention to me and like everyone on the team and not just his select people but ya idk I’m just like tired of it

Dude! You're using Metagenics' Endura but don't like energy drinks? Yes it doesn't have caffeine but one standard scoop of it has even more Taurine than a Red Bull. And for a lot of people that can really interfere with a good workout. Then again many aren't bothered by it and I really hope you're one of those folks.
