What I loved is that she doesn't treat the meet n greets like an assembly line where she just signs something and then moves on. She takes time to chat a bit and she really expresses how much she appreciates all the fan support. Absolutely love her!!

Having read Nita's bio, she is so dedicated to the guitar. No wonder she plays for a legend like Alice. Both overcame alcohol also. Inspirations for myself as a metal guitarist and struggling alcoholic. Thanks Nita and Alice. And thanks to you Ola for bringing awesome musicians on your show, and keeping metal and electric guitars alive. I live in Fort Worth and my sister lives in Pantego about a mile from Dime and Rita's home. She is very sweet. Met her at a Machine Head, Megadeth and Heaven and Hell concert.

Devin Townsend (also worked with Steve Vai) also has a pretty uplifting story about his journey with his struggles transitioning to a sober artist. I find inspiration in people like this - MJK of Tool who works his ass off in building sustainable creative communities, tons or examples if one cares to look. Nita is one of the next generation - hell, most of em don't even smoke weed for fuck's sake. I think the future is pretty bright as long as we let the kids do the driving. #terrans #thekidsarealright #metalistruth As long as you are alive, there is always hope. Know that you are seen and heard. You are real and things are gonna be alright. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From Wikipedia: During the process of writing and recording the new album, Townsend stopped taking the medication prescribed to treat his bipolar disorder because he began expressing doubt about the initial diagnosis, and decided to stop taking the medication,[36][37] but continued with his substance abuse, and he eventually "flipped out" during the process, and later called the resulting album "toxic" and "psychologically very unhealthy".

Nita Strauss is a good guest, Ola! I grew up listening and playing Alice Cooper music in the early 70's, and thought his stuff was brilliant, even apart from his theatrics. He turned out to be a great guy too, and to this day is an energetic performer and all around pleasant man. My band was contracted to play in Nome , Alaska in 1973, and we played Alice Cooper music, but no one would dance. We had to reach back in our memories and play old play Creedance Clearwater Revival songs. Alice was a bit much for them.
