A vocal coach was talking about Dimash in a video. He said we sometimes get singers who are naturally gifted, and sometimes we get singers who are willing to put in more hours of practice than anyone else. Dimash is both, to an insane level. It makes sense, when you think about it.

Dimash performance hitting the D8 high note was out of this world but I'm more impressed by the fact that he composed this song in his teens. I have a much better respect for him as a complete musician, writing this song, playing several instruments, singing in several languages and emotional performance. As great as this Gakku performance was, the Singer 2017 performance of "Unforgettable Day" is the better version with stage production, lighting, live orchestra and instrumentation, and of course Dimash's vocals was superior. Enjoyed your "WTFudge" moment. Typical Dimash, when you know what to expect yet still get surprised when it happens. Thanks Krizz!

He sang the same song at the Singer, but he did different vocals in that high part that sound more than bird song than a human voice. That version has english subtitles so you can understand the beautiful Kazakh lyrics. Maybe you want to compare both versions to see that he doesn't like to sing the same song two times the exact same way. He likes to improvise.

With this reaction, good one by the way, you have made it to Dimashs tribute page on my website. Have been accumulating reactions to his D8 note on his page. Scroll down to the bottom to the newest posting for yours. Down the right side, is a reactor with numbers 698.64Hz in the photo, he has to use an app to find out the note in frequency, that Dimash hits as it doesn't register on his full size piano. Also, having tech problems trying to work out with GoDaddy as site only can be viewed on tablet, laptop and desktop, having issues on mobile phones. Time stamps for each are at the section for the D8 to save listening to entire video, just scroll ahead to that spot. Also at the top of the section for the D8 reactions is the explanation for what appears to be a microphone failure, is not. His voice gives out according to opera singers, who reacted, who say this happens sometimes when hitting high notes and moving the head around relaxes the neck muscles and vocal chords, which he does.
