This performance was in Kazakhstan (Gakku TV is a Kazakh television channel. I heard there were about 150,000 spectators and the city center had to be completely closed) and Dimash wrote this song when he was 19 years old and of course in Kazakh. The lyrics were written by Oral Baissengir. There he hit his highest note so far, his famous D8. You don't need to look for this note on the piano, the keys weren't enough for that anymore. Some say the tone isn't exactly pleasing to the ear, but it doesn't make it any less spectacular. Incidentally, Dimash himself said that this was not actually intended. He probably wanted to sing his "normal" G#7, but when he did, no sound came out of his throat. When he started again, the C8 came and then the D8. A 5 second accident with vibrato 😂. Only Dimash can do this. And then he continues as nothing has happened. Some joke that he actually sang the note before, but realized that we earthlings can't hear notes that high, so he "only" sang the D8. He probably doesn't just wave the microphone for the cool effect, but also to show that he's singing live. But he doesn't do it that often anymore. I think because he doesn't have to prove anything anymore. However, he sings a lot with a different microphone technique, so he cannot use a headset microphone either. Otherwise your ears would probably fly off🤯😂. He controls the volume of his voice by either holding the microphone close to his mouth or moving it away. You really need to know your vocal abilities to do that. That is really cool🥰

I’ve only heard Dimash refer to this particular song and the D8 one time. He was asked if it was planned and he said no. It was a last minute decision. He wrote the music for this song when he was about 17 or 18 I believe and I believe it was a relative of his that wrote the lyrics based on what Dimash told him to include. It is about him spending time with a beautiful girl and all the colorful romantic things that he felt about her. He sings it at every concert and now the audiences join him also at his direction.

Not only is the shaking the microphone a cool unique trick, but also shows that he is singing live.. There are a lot of Dimash haters that tries to say he lip sings.. Dimash has gotten to where he uses this effect more and more during his live concerts ❤. Thanks for the reaction I love every single one of your Dimash reactions.. That was the powerful D8. The highest note us Dears knows of Dimash hitting so far. It was actually a accident.. When singing this song, which BTW Dimash composed this song when he was in his teens but he usually hits I wanna say a G something, but this time. when he went to hit the note his voice gave out on him. That's when you see him shake his mic but nothing came out. So he went for it again and the famous D8 appeared.. I heard that Dimash was actually under the weather and running a fever during this performance that's why his voice gave out on him.. Anyways thank you for another great one.. Much love from a Oklahoma Dear 💕💕💕

Amazing is the fact he just released his concert from Kazakhstan on his You Tube Channel in 3 parts and it is utterly amazing from start to finish. El Amor En Ti, his first song in Spanish starting at 35.50 in the third part is absolutely outstanding. 4 Dimash's, three of which are avatars, one singing baritone, one singing tenor, one soprano and one real Dimash singing pop and all 4 singing together. I hope you will do it. There is over three hours of concert and every single second is spell binding.

Hi Tyler, Great indepth reaction to this performance from Dimash. Lots of others have told you, song written when he was 18yrs old along with a full orchestral score, always a fan favourite they can sing along every word with him when he sings this at his solo concerts. You were correct this was a festival and Dimash was the special guest appearing at the end. there are lots of types of 'whistle notes' but this was indeed a true whistle register in D8, there are quite a few examples of his performances on youtube where he employs this 'note' ... its way off the piano scale! and always a crowd pleaser.👍👍😊

That Dimash sang such a high note is incredible, but how he sang it is even more miraculous.Dimash's technique is different from others regarding the Whistle register. Anyone who has ever sung a very high whistle note has used a glissando. Because in this way it is easier to reach a high note, among them Georgia Brown also uses glissando, they generally start from the sixth octave and go up, but in the case of Dimash, the insane is that he started singing directly from the eighth octave with control. onset from 8th octave is incredible and no one has ever done it before like that. It's also incredible that he was able to sing this note for 5 seconds with vibrato quite easily, I'm sure he can sing a higher note. D8 is one hell of a pitch. But he's not only reaching it, he has so much control, he decides to think about the tone. He shapes the note and adds vibrato. Simply unbelievable Onset from the fifth or sixth octave is very difficult and professionals are amazed to hear this and imagine how phenomenal and impossible the onset from the eighth octave is. But this is Dimash his possibilities are limitless. The only and the best.

It is not Russian. It is in Dimash's native language of Kazakh. He is from Kazakhstan! It is similar to Russian. This is Dimash's own song that he came up with at 19 when he fell in love at first sight with a girl he saw in a park! THE note is off the piano D8. He didn't reach the note he tried when no sound came out so the D8 was to make up for the fail. As for the mic shake, he does it because he got sick of people saying he had to be lip syncing so he does that to prove he is singing LIVE! 👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠💓💓

@@bigtiger1964 You are simply repeating yourself! And what is the point of stressing the word LISTEN? That word has zero meaning when the person you are relating your message to isn't HEARING you. I am going by what I have heard and the fact that Russian is equally easy as Kazakh to Dimash as well as the fact it is also easy to others from Kazakhstan. That wouldn't be the case if it was so difficult for people from Kazakhstan to speak and understand Russian.!!!

If you feel Dimash's voice calming, you have to listen to Know, which exists in two versions, one with lyrics, and the other one without (the latter is also known as Know (Vocalise). Check out both of them, maybe in a double feature. And when reacting to the Diva Dance, make sure to take the version from the Bastau concert. Dimash's precision is impeccable even after having gone through half of the concert already. And because that version is not even 2 minutes long, you could add the duet version with Li Yugang in a mashup with Drunken Concubine. Regarding the whistle tone here, you are right that Dimash attempted to sing one while shaking the microphone, but no sound came out, so he hot angry and pushed out this incredible D8. There are versions of the song where he managed to do what he intended and failed to accomplish here.

Dimash composed “Unforgettable Day” as he was 19 ys. He sings in his mother tongue Kazakh. Oral Baissengir (father of a friend of Dimash) wrote the lyrics. He also wrote the lyrics to 'Aqquym / My Swan'- Official MV - kzbin.info/www/bejne/onyXZ3-sZtmblas (subt.) and co-wrote the lyrics to 'Qairan Elim'- Official MV - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWWYopeIdq6Kl68 A Dear said, Dimash first sings an ultrasound 🤣 I think, then he remembers that we humans can’t hear it and gifted us a D8 (out of piano) and he held it for “endless” long 5 seconds. This is a world record. Nobody has ever sung this high note in a live performance (captured on video for eternity). The shaking of the microphone is not only a cool effect, but also shows that he is singing live (is often doubted). This event was the 3rd Open Air Music Festival organized by Gakku TV on September 16, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan - (2015 - 40,000 spectators, 2016 (1000 years of Almaty) - 90,000 spectators. 2017 - Dimash was announced and 150,000 came. Hello from a California Dear;) Thank you for reacting to Dimash! Our Renaissance prince! If I may make a suggestion: please turn on the CC as the lyrics are as important as the music; Dimash is extremely deliberate in every aspect of his performances, and the lyrics have an important meaning. Also the backstory of each song Dimash performs adds and enriches the audience experience. Other Dears have posted information on Unforgettable Day. Lasted, please do not continue to talk over Dimash- every note and rest has been carefully crafted- your talking over detracts from Dimash’s performance. I hope these suggestions are helpful; some reactors have such huge egos that they are defensive and judgmental. Which is quite ironic, as our genius Dimash is a humble, kind, dedicated, intelligent, inspiring, and loving person.

Actually depends on the microphone the kind vocalist use actually fades sound out if you are not singing directly into it, which also keeps out unwanted distortion, I can't recall the two types at this moment but yes it would have that affect as well he is proving that it's live and not lip syncing as he is too often accused of. About holding he changes up but I don't know if it changes anything but he is absolutely great on controlling the microphone and that's a skill in itself. Dimash has mastered almost everything as far as a vocalist does. I just looked it up I believe vocalist use condenser type microphones as they only pickup sound directly into it verses dynamic which pics up sound from all directions.

Dimash talked about this performance before, I can't remember much, but if I remember correctly, he was a bit sick and had received 6 Injections in his Neck maybe days before this performance and I think his Doctor told him not to sing. Now about the D8, the explanation for the D8 was that he was trying to hit a G7, but probably because he was sick, his voice shot up an Octave. This happens a lot to me when I'm sick and there's an excessive build up of Mucus and Phlegm in my throat, your voice isn't 100% accurate and overstep or under step what you're trying to sing.

I will be brief, as the president of my country often liked to say. 1. Thank you for your next reaction. 2. You are very lively and emotional 3. You said that this is his best performance - yes, he took D8 live here, but when Dimash performs in front of his compatriots, this is always his best dedication, because the walls are native and the people are native around 4. However, you edited on The Story of One Sky, but it was an amazing cinematography with an amazing vocal performance 5. I strongly advise you to watch the live version of this work, again, where the walls are native and the people are native. I will not recommend anything bad or uninteresting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3mamZuJrJt2nLc From Russia with Love!

Dimash loves interacting with the audience. Here he is in concert singing "Screaming", in 2020 in Kyiv, being a security nightmare. There are many versions of this song. It was his first song in english so it is special to the Dears. In this version, there is a Kazakh rap, that is not in the original. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqC3pHmpeNJ_ibs Dimash has many versions of "Unforgettable Day" as well. This one is my fave. (There are subs!) 😊 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWanY2Opg9uhfrs

That D8 is an inhaled note not a note sung outwardly.
