I've had this video on my "Watch Later" playlist for about a week now. I wanted to watch it, but also understood the possibility of PTSD. I was at that concert. I took my then fiance (now wife) and her little sister because I wanted to see her AND Before You Exit. I was the one who wanted to stay for the meet and greet. What's crazy is that I was trying to get both of them to stay, but after the concert, as is common, the line for the women's bathrooms were extremely long. So in frustration, I decided, fine, let's go to the store next door to use the bathroom. Then we heard the gunshots. I ran us out of there so quick and to the car. We went straight home. My work was worried about us, many of our friends knew we were there. My job allowed me to get counseling help, but to be honest, maybe I wasn't the one who needed it. My wife worked at Orlando Health and had to deal with the aftermath of the Pulse shootings a couple days later. It's crazy to think how long ago it was, but how vividly I remember everything. My now sister-in-law seems to be okay these days, my wife and I are good, but trauma, in any form, sticks with you. Christina did not deserve this. Nobody deserves this. And while watching this video was hard, you do an amazing job with your content, and I'll continue to watch these stories. Coffeehouse Crime, thank you.

I remember Philip DeFranco covering this story several years ago. I didn't know who Christina Grimmie was, but was shocked at how easy it was for an armed person to approach someone like her. I felt sadness although I didn't know who she was. Your coverage of this horrendous crime almost made me shed a tear. Christina extended a hug out to this guy and he shot her in cold blood. And for what? Love? Geez... I feel sick.

I was a fan of Christina. Having known her growth from the start made this so freakin' tragic. Knowing that her last Instagram post was her singing about having a good day, that she was so excited for the gig, that her brother is the one who tackled him to the ground. She was a genuine, real soul preaching love.

The most tragic part about this was her wanting to hug him to make the meeting less awkward. I haven't heard about this case but I suspected the murder would have been after the event (i.e. outside the venue) or after rejection, but it seems she was very embracing of her fans, including those faces she hasn't seen before. He had already planned the murder of what he was going to carry out no matter what rather than being an alternative plan. People need to do more to stop these creeps in the months and years leading up to these eventual outcomes.

Parasocial relationships can be a scary thing and it's something everyone should be mindful of if you have a social media presence to any degree. You never know who's watching you and the impact and impression you're leaving on the person. And people are very resourceful. A youtuber I follow once showed a small glimpse outside his apartment. And within a day he had people DMing him his address to let him know they were able to find his apartment just from the look outside the window.

Reminds me of Shiloh and how the walking puss-filled-boil Onision completely derailed her career, right when it was REALLY taking off. Completely destroyed her mental health, and when he finally pushed her too far and she had a mental break, he stuck and camera in her face *humiliated* her at her lowest, most vulnerable point, and put it on the internet to exploit her for views. It seems like she has done a lot of work to get over all of his abuse and the very public aftermath. And she is working to rebuild her life and career again. But tbh imo her career will never be where it could have had she never had the misfortune of crossing that sentient loogie's path. Who knows how great and successful her life could have been by now if she kept on the track her music career was taking her!!! Onision needs to rot in a hole in the ground for all the horrible things he's done to several other women too.

There are no public records for any 'Kevin Liobl', living OR deceased. A random driver's license photo with no further info on it is not proof. There are no other photos of this guy and there are no other indications that he ever existed. I also have reason to believe that this was another DHS exercise like the Pulse the following night. The mainstream media got out of the news reporting business decades ago and are now being used by lobbyist to produce propaganda for their agendas. That is why you can't believe what the media tells us now. They have been busted and debunked many, many times before for reporting false narratives. When you have far more questions about an event than media can answer, ..........chances are that it didn't take place like we were told.

I watch a lot of true crime, but what happened to Christina is one of the saddest ones. She was so kind and accepting of all her fans, truly tragic. As for what could be done, it’s very difficult to convince someone like this to get mental health help because they refuse to see they have a problem and likely don’t have insurance. It’s also difficult to enforce pat-down searches at an event largely attended by minors. A metal detector would have been good but it looks like an event at an old mall so the budget was likely minimal. A bodyguard wouldn’t have been between her and him with enough time to stop him, either. I think it’s important to have these conversations about what we can do. I don’t know the answers but really makes me sad that this would have been so hard to predict or stop.

If you report the person to the cops and they get held on a 5150 they don't need health insurance. No one can say for sure if he'd have said anything crazy enough to get held on a 5150 but there's no excuse for not even trying when you know someone is unstable and has weapons.

I've literally binged watched every single video you ever posted EXCEPT this one. She was only 2 years older than me when she died and I grew up listening to her and all her music. I loved her personality and she just seemed like a very sweet girl. This video was so hard for me to watch and after all these years I'm still so heartbroken. I never knew her in person but it's strange to think this youtuber you watch everyday like it's nothing, like they're gonna be around forever just...dies like any normal person. She really was an amazing talent and person. She was so young...and I hope everyone who knew of her can find peace eventually

her murder still hurts me. 😭 its been 7 years and its still feel like yesterday. 😭 I remember when the news came out, I was crying infront of my phone. 😭 my mom comforted me cause she know how much I love Christina. 😭 her passing is so hard to accept even through this day. 😭 In honor of my love for her, I named my daughter after her. 💚 i will always love you, Christina!

I think the plaza was mostly to blame for this, they failed in keeping her safe. I find it very appalling that the Plaza didn’t consider their guests safety as being a priority of theirs. With a large venue, they should have had adequate security in place in case a fight broke out, or in the most terrible circumstances, this. The fact they fired their entire GM team to cut on cost is ridiculous. You don’t cut corners when it comes down to keeping everyone safe. Honestly, it sounds like money was all the plaza cared more about instead of their guests. Rip Christina, you will forever be missed.

They venue is a lot of the blame. Kevin is almost entirely to blame, but her management are responsible for as much of the blame and should have made sure she was safe due to her rising stardom by refusing to allow her to perform if the venue didn't provide necessary security measures. This tragedy could have been avoided at several times before it happened. From the manager who refused the friend's request to force him to get help to the lack of security. I'd never allow my daughter to perform with inadequate security.

I've never been frisked at a concert, bag checks and bottle checks are most even for big gigs, idk how people think america is but rarely will you be frisked anywhere but a police detention or the airport.

@@User18422theboi every concert I’ve ever been to, from a KZbinrs gig to a massive name concert, I’ve gone through metal detectors, bag checks, everything. All done by the venue upon entry. I live in the UK and have gone to concerts up and down the country, there has always been at minimum bag checks and metal detectors. Other places had pat downs too and asking you to take off your jacket to check your pockets.

Love and obsession are not the same. Love is self-less while obsession is self-ish. He only cared about what she could be for him and didn't want anyone else to have her. When you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if its without you. Thank you for this video. I actually never heard of her before this.

No. Love, in all forms and sizes, can be selfish too and there's nothing wrong with that. The only difference between love and obsession/addiction is the former is controllable and stable while the latter is uncontrollable and most of the time, violent. And unfortunately obsession and addiction cannot be restrained with psychiatric help unless they truly wanted to improve.
