How to make a Latte and Cappuccino:
For all those watching this video. It is is two parts. The FIRST half is on lattes and the SECOND half is on Cappuccinos. The cappuccino part, gives TWO common different ways of foaming, the first is the old fashioned way (with a spoon) which gives a dryer more peaked foam and the second is a more micro foam (wetter) cappuccino foam.
I am not in anyway saying that this is the only way to do lattes and cappuccinos and this video is merely intended for those who are totally new to coffee and not designed for competition events etc. It is a friendly, hopefully informative video to get people started in the wonderful world of coffee...

For the people criticising the video: the fact that you're here means that you wanted to learn how to make a cappuccino and/or latte. You can't really criticise someone if you have little or no experience yourself.

People bitching just for the sake of bitching. This being youtube the only valid criticism to a video like this should be a video reply showing what the bitching commenters consider to be the proper way to make the drinks. As it stands they could have saved us all time and comment space by posting their bitching to their blog.

nice vid, try to get a whirl pool going in your milk while you are texturing it. Also try not to use a spoon for your cappuccinos, if you start by pouring the milk close to the cup with a slight wiggle in your wrist you will get the nice smooth foam in first, then end by pulling up from more of a distance and the normal milk will go in. You shouldn't put your foam in last! Your way results in a lumpy surface when it should be a smooth glossy dome. Great Lattes!! :) xx

If you don't have any suggestions or something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Is your problem really about the coffee? Everybody has their own preferences, there is no right or wrong way, he was just showing another way. And BTW it's Espresso straight that has no milk.

Being a barista is not that hard of a job. There are camps and classes to learn how to be a better barista and stand above everyone else, but either way, just because you love coffee doesn't mean you'll love being a barista. It's not just mixing milk and coffee, I promise you that
@ingdanify
@ingdanify 10 жыл бұрын
I get your point, but I said; I'm thinking of being a Barista. I'm not 100% sure! It's not all mixing milk and coffe, I see that but I want to do that and also make someone's day better by serving them a good coffe. Being a Barista means that you make coffe. Of course you have to learn about the coffe's history and lot of it will be readding and practising. But I think it sound very fun.

Yes, and it is very fun. But I meant as all the other tasks that baristas have. I manage a coffee shop in san diego and just had this girl who "loved" coffee but didn't think that more than half of her work would consist on cleaning and stocking. I'm not trying to discourage you, we need more baristas in the world =]

Two questions if you don't mind: 1.) Do people brew into the cup or is it better to brew into a small cup and transfer to a bigger cup, or does it matter? 2.) Do people put sugar into these drinks and if so...how?
@Xiia0Sn00pY
@Xiia0Sn00pY 10 жыл бұрын
1) its better to brew straight into the cup (because when you transfer, crema is left in the previous cup/glass you brewed in which isnt good for your espresso drinks) 2)yes people do put sugar into coffee?UH ... buy pouring sugar in? Is your 2nd question a troll question because it seems kinda obvious
@gibranalfatah_
@gibranalfatah_ 2 жыл бұрын
@@Xiia0Sn00pY i dont think he's trolling. i think, what he means by that was how do we put the sugar into those drinks. is that before the milk (right into the espresso) or into the milk before it gets steamed, or how? it's a pure curiousity

Put your machine on the second you get up in the morning, have a shower or go for a run or do some activity that takes roughly half an hour and then come back and make it. Always let your entire machine get hot first. No matter what machine it is. Even $3000+ machines require time to get hot.

@arpit5317
@arpit5317 4 жыл бұрын
puspita dyah latte is microfoam, the espresso is mixed with microfoam. You froth the whole milk but not big foam like seen in cappuccino. And cappuccino was simple right as u saw in video. The main takeaway is that when making latte don’t break the top layer called crema. It’s silky therefore you wanna drink your latte through that crema.

Cappuccino should be in a smaller cup with same amount of espresso as a latte . So by that conclusion , there be less textured milk added, however it may be steamed by a barista or yourself at home . so it should be stronger coffee flavour that a latte.

Help! I'm still struggling with the milk consistency.. I'm not getting enough micro bubbles incorporated into the body of the milk.. It looks like wet paint but it isn't. The bubbles are sitting on top of the jug.. Even after I swish the milk, when I pour the latte, the micro bubbles stay on top and milk being poured is mostly solid. And the bubbles that do flow out of the jug stays on top of the cup too, stifling the surface flow needed for latte art. :(
