Thats the power of gambling addiction. Im not trying to justify his actions or the kind of person he is but there is a reason why 1 in 5 people who lost everything to gambling addiction end up committing suicide. Its such a disgusting habit that is very hard to break and leaves you at rock bottom. This is why I've never gambled and will never gamble ever in my life. Twitch streamers have fallen into the same addiction problem and are taking their viewers down with them. The bigger issue that none of them seem to be thinking of is that, when that sponsorship ends, you are left with a disgusting addiction that will result in bankruptcy and ruined life. Is it really worth "the bag" Stake is paying you? F*ck gambling and anyone who promotes that garbage, especially to kids on Twitch.

There's a big difference between "borrowing" and "stealing," although only doing the first half of the borrowing and ignoring the second half leads to the stealing part. Well, I think 'scam' is a more appropriate word than 'steal'. "Steal" implies that something was taken by force or was done while someone was caught unawares. "Scam" implies that some level of lying and deceit was pulled to get someone to give up something under false pretenses. Sliker lied about the circumstances to get people to give up their money out of their own free-will. You can't convince me that he thought he was going to pay 100% of that money back, assuming he had plans to do so in the first place (which he likely did not).

4:50 Scamming and addiction aside, to swear on your mom’s life when you know you’re lying is despicable. Maybe I’m just overly-superstitious, but to me saying “I swear on my loved one’s life” is basically like saying “if I’m lying to you, may God take my loved one’s life” as if you’re literally putting their life on the line to prove you’re not lying. Obviously I know my loved one isn’t going to die (generally) because I lied, but to swear on someone else’s life, to me, is like the ultimate-ultimate way to prove I’m telling the truth and I would never say that, especially about my mother, if I knew I was lying. Man, I've suffered addictions before...and somehow, even at my absolute worst, I went through it without hurting or robbing everyone who offered me sympathy. Maybe some people buy his bullshit "I did it because I'm an addict please forgive me" shtick, but I don't.

You are the 0.000001% my friend, and a stronger person than nearly everyone on the damned planet then. Massive props to you. 99.99999% of other addicts, however, are not so absurdly strong and end up dragging everyone who cares about them even slightly into the trainwreck with them.

@@Nightstick24 it depends on the nature of addiction. Like weed dependency and crack addiction are two different things. You can be dependent on a drug and not be a full on fiend. Like how you have alcoholics who will spend all their money, but stop drinking when they run out. Maybe I'm too young. But I've done a many drugs and have been at points where I'd just be doing what I had whether dxm or Ativan. But he'll nah doing all this is a lot of work. My work ethic is shit. I'd rather just suffer till i get more money than switch up on my homies. If I ever got THAT bad I'd personally rather just off myself

@@Nightstick24 nope im just like op as well. Its almost like when you keep the damage to yourself you never hear about it because it truly is just a personal problem. You hear about every addict who does fucked up shit to others not only because it goes beyond a personal problem people also have a right to know if someones struggles are going to negatively impact them. Stop making up shit to try and justify slikers actions. Most people are significantly stronger morally than sliker could evr hope to be.

@@Nightstick24 Not even. There are lots of functioning addicts who waste their own money and don't go begging. But the reason you quit or control it is so that you don't end up like this dude.

The coming clean and apology are as genuine as the borrowing. All part of the act and he'll be hoping he doesn't end up in front of a judge.
