@Shield Boss I was not born Jewish, so I know that there is a lot of mis-information about the religion out there. I'll just take two examples, one is that food needs a Rabbi to bless it in order for it to be kosher. This is completely wrong. The laws of kashrut (keeping kosher) are expansive, but it is up to the person consuming the food to offer a blessing before eating. On the other hand, 100 rabbis could bless a bacon sandwich, and it still would not be kosher. Another example is that it is forbidden to work on the Sabbath. Whilst on some level this is true, it would be more correct to say it is forbidden to do an action that changes the world, irrespective of the amount of exertion required (even this has a few caveats, as they say two Jews, three opinions). As such, I could move 10 heavy chairs around my house all Sabbath, and I have not transgressed, but switching on the light is considered (by Orthodox Judaism) to be a transgression. I hope that this answers your question somewhat.

My question to believers: If God created everything, then who created God?
@NeoKingArthur2 жыл бұрын
@@fr3dstas689 Most believers believe that God created God. That God's existence is simultaneous to God's own existence. There's also some believes that God lives outside of our universe, that God creates the law of physics that we live in such as relativity and quantum mechanics. And our universe is "created" simply as a byproduct of the universe following those scientific laws that God created. Because we can scale them. Humans have created technological advancements in through computers, we created "mini-universes" where we have digital worlds like the internet where we have bots crawling around cyberspace. So, if we can scale down to the worlds that we have created, it can also be scaled up to who created our universe. This makes most believers see that since God exists beyond the boundaries of our universe, our minds are unable to comprehend what God really is. When you think of it, the small binary 0s and 1s in our computers are only limited to their own boundaries of interacting with other 0s and 1s and the electrons moving about. How different it is when comparing the little digital worlds that we created with our own biological cellular organism. Do you think those little worlds of 0s and 1s are able to comprehend the true biological world that we live in? Again, if this discrepancy exists between our biological selves with the binary digital world that we created. This can be scaled up to see how different and simple our biological world is compared to "God's domain" outside of our universe. So most believers see that God is incomprehensible. We can only see God as what we believe God to be. But it's all just theories, imagination, and simply beliefs.

I became very interested in Judaism after discovering and falling in love with Yiddish music three years ago. I am a Christian from Jordan, so as you can imagine, we sadly don't get much interaction with Jews or Jewish culture because of the political situation. :( Now i often listen to Yiddish music and Hebrew music. Sometimes I also listen to Ladino and Arabic Jewish music. I find Jewish music in general very beautiful. Especially in Klezmer music, there is something very unique about the melodies. I can only understand 30% of Yiddish music because I am an intermediate German speaker and Yiddish has a lot of German(ic) words. I am considering someday learning Yiddish so that I can understand the songs fully without having to read translations, and also to learn more about the rich culture that has produced these amazing songs. Thank you very much for making this great video! :)

Only criticism: Jews are first and foremost an ethnic group. That's the way it's always been. Judaism mostly served as a culture, and only became a religion during the diaspora. Genetic studies have concluded that the 3 main Jewish groups (Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi Jews) all descend from the same population that started in the Middle East (the Israelites). This can also be seen by the shared direct lineages amongst all 3 groups, furthered by the genetic connection to ancient samples from the Levant (Israelite and Canaanite). Over the last 2000 years (of the diaspora), very few individuals have converted to Judaism - so much so that the converted population is less than 1% of the total Jewish population - on top of that, conversion to Judaism is discouraged. Only in recent times has conversion and assimilation increased. This is one of the reasons that all 3 major Jewish groups are ethnically homogenous to some extent.

@@c_01m26 being Jewish is not a religion, it's a blood line, there were 12 tribes of the house of Israel, one of the tribes was from the son called Judah, so the descendants of Judah is the Jewish race, about 500 to 600 years BC the house of Israel split, Judah and Levi merged together, that's why the Bible speaks of the house of Israel and then the house of Judah, the 10 northern tribes were not Jewish, after the Syrian captivity they migrated north over the Caucasus maintains and become known as the Caucasians, inhabiting Europe, Ireland, Scotland and many more nations including America, most of which have no idea of there lineage, but that's why white people are called Caucasian,
@yosephbuitrago8973 жыл бұрын
Night Stalker that’s not true at all. Caucasians and white people already existed even before the 12 tribes of Israel existed and split apart. There were already white Caucasian people living in Scotland and England and the caucus mountains and Western Europe and Central Europe and Eastern Europe before the tribes of Judah and Levi ever even merged together. You just spouted completely false information. Everyone who is descended from the Hebrew tribes are now called Jews today in English. In other languages they are all called Hebrews while the religion is called Judaism and those who follow Judaism are called Jews.

I would say that it’s a set of related ethnicities.
@yosephbuitrago8973 жыл бұрын
Jared F yeah. In the past the Jews were a majority ethnic group with a large percentage of the population being a homogenous ethnicity, but after several different empires like the Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, romans, and Abbasid caliphate all conquered the land of the levant, exiled Jews, and oppressed them to the point where they moved away, many Jews left fled to different countries like those in Northern Africa, the surrounding Middle East, Eastern Europe, Central Europe, and the Iberian peninsula. They lived there for generations, doing their Hebrew practices while intermixing with the local population of people, that’s why Jews today have so many different ethnicities. Still, though, the majority of Jews in Israel come from the surrounding Middle East and Northern Africa, so they are still at least somewhat genetically identical to the early Jewish populations
@cameronstrickland6423 жыл бұрын
What about the Khazar's tho? They were a whole steppe tribe that converted to Judaism in mass, without any genetic link to the ancient Israelites. They're kingdom was the only independent Jewish state during the exile period. Surely they're existence proves that there have been non Jews that have converted to the religon thought the centuries. As does the fact that the Jewish population is racially diverse. For example the Ashkenazi Jews are white because they intermarried and accepted converts from the local European population. Just like the Beta Isreal of Ethiopia are black because they intermarried with and accepted converts from the local African population. Conversions to Judaism have been happening for thousands of years.

@Timurjul Munrahmadhan Actually, Hebrews were those who spoke Hebrew. Since the Diaspora ALL Tribes of Israel, "Israel" not to be mistaken for the Esauite State of Israel run by Benjamin NetanYaWaY, went into seclusion. The Diaspora opened the doors for the Cana'anites (Vatican) to create "Countries" "nationialities". American as the greatest brain dead after the "Christian". When you accept being "national" you agree to being a corporation. As well, lettuce look at Formosa or Ceylon as examples. When Formosa was changed to Taiwan were the inhabitants still Formosans or Tiawanese? Ditto for Ceylonese to Sri Lanka. You are an Israelite (of the 12 Tribes) and the Judah branch/house ... or Levi branch/house ... or Ruben branch/house. While the Israelites went into diaspora the Esau-ites unilaterally changed their spots to hide their genealogy. This is especially true at Genesis 36:2. At Genesis 36:2 Esau entered into the Matriarchal society because Eve was a good girl! Incidentally, there are the Ishmaeli who have been counter-fiated into the Muslim at Genesis 36:3 thus a possible reason for the division between the Ishmaeli and Muslim? The Esauites are not of the seed of Jacob. They are of the seed of Abraham through Isaac. ALL tribes of humanity are set out in the book of Genesis yet you would be hard pressed to locate the "jew" tribe. The Esau-ites claim "Jew" and "Judah" are synonymous but far from it! Queen Elizabeth II is Judah and has yet to set foot on the Esau-ite State of Israel soil. "Judaism"? What is so special about Judah? Weren't the Levite High Priests next to God? Incidentally, the Esau-ites have Rabbies while the Israelites have Levite High Priests. The Esau-ites even invented its own language: "Rabbinical Hebrew". Esau-ites are NOT of the Seed of Jacob. The Esau-ites are out to destroy the 12 Tribes. Cana'an is out to destroy all life on this planet and the Esau-ites are gladly helping for they can have all the mammon they can choke on by assisting the Vatican in its quest for destruction.

@Timurjul Munrahmadhan Esau is the prodigal sun ... it loves mammon ... it honored its dad Isaac thus its life was long(er then Jacob) on the land Yahuah gave to it. You are correct ... Esau is a mindless wonder ... At Genesis 36:2 Esau marries into the Cana'anite/Vatican money masters as Esau just adores mammon! Butt, Esau is also of the seed of Abraham thus the mRNA shot will affect it's heirs and successors but NOT affect Cana'an. Don't you find it interesting the laws of the State of Isn'tReal reflect the code of Cana'an law v. the Constitution Written in Heaven? And Benjamin Mielesky's family changed their name to "NetanYahu(ah)" in contempt of Yahuah!

740: In 740 A.D. in a land locked between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, known as Khazaria, a land which today is predominantly occupied by Georgia, but also reaches into Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, and Romania, the modern Jewish race is born. A modern Jewish race that incidentally is not Jewish. How can this be, you ask? Well at that time, the Khazarian people felt vulnerable people as they had Muslims on one side of them and Christians on the other side of them, and thus constantly feared attack from either side. Furthermore, the Khazarian people were of neither faith and instead practiced idol worship, which made them ripe for invasion by a people who wished to convert them to an established faith. The Khazarian King, King Bulan, decided in order to protect themselves against attack, the Khazarian people must convert to one of these faiths, but which one? If they converted to the Muslim faith they would risk attack by the Christians and if they converted to the Christian faith they would risk attack by the Muslims. He had an idea. There was another race that he was aware was able to deal with both the Muslims and the Christians on either side of him, predominantly in matters of trade. A race that also dealt with Khazarians in the same manner. That race was the Jews. King Bulan decided if he instructed his people to convert to Judaism he could keep both the Muslims and the Christians happy, as they were both already willing to trade with the Jews, so this is what he did. King Bulan was right. He would live to see his country unconquered, and his people convert to Judaism enthusiastically and adopt the principles of the holiest Jewish book, the Talmud. There are many things the king would not have to see, however. He would not live to see his Asiatic race of converts to Judaism, one day represent 90% of all the Jews on the planet, and call themselves Ashkenazi Jews, when in fact they were not Jews, but simply an Asiatic race of people who converted to the Jewish religion, whilst still continuing to speak the Khazarian language of Yiddish, totally different to the language of Hebrew. He would not live to see his people turn to the descendants of a man, far more powerful than him, who would be born just over 1,000 years later in Germany, a man named Bauer, who would spawn the Rothschild dynasty. He would not live to see this dynasty usurp the wealth of the world through deception and intrigue, which they would finance through the vast riches they accumulate as they usurp the wealth of the world by gaining control of the world's money supply. He would not live to see his people demand a homeland for themselves in Palestine as their birthright, and ensure every Prime Minister there from its inception in 1948 is an Ashkenazi Jew, even though the true homeland of the Ashkenazi Jews, Khazaria, is his kingdom, some 800 miles away. And he would not live to see his people fulfill bible prophecy, as the "synagogue of Satan."

ah thank you. I grew up to Christianity, in a very religious christian country. Needless to say, such upbringing brought much close-mindedness. and ignorance. Judaism seems like a very historically important move in belief, more so than Christianity. Now I need to find a video about Orthodoxy to see why do we hate our neigbouring country so much.

RedCubUK The only upsetting thing was the animations of G-d. It’s a shame that these images were made, for obvious reasons. Other than that, smashing video.
@RedCubUK3 жыл бұрын
@@musti12312 Religious Jews refrain from creating an image of G-d. That’s why a shul or synagogue is dressed with more abstract images and concepts that cover Jewish theological ideas without showing an image of the Creator. But we are also used to most non-Jews using images of G-d mostly because Christianity over the centuries has had much less problem with it. And the image used in this video is definitely referencing the Christian concept of G-d. Also, pronouncing and speaking G-d’s actual name out loud is avoided entirely - but again, Cogito says this detail about the religion directly - right before he pronounces the four-letter name which, in Judaism, even if his pronunciation is inaccurate, speaking it out loud is a big no-no. But that’s what the majority-Christian world does all the time. Out side of these things, the details he gives about the religion and theological ideas are accurate, which is very rare on KZbin.
@RedCubUK3 жыл бұрын
@@musti12312 There are many similarities between the concepts of G-d between Jews and Muslims. For Jews, G-d can occupy a physical place if they so choose. It is said the Shekhinah (the presence of G-d) came down and entered the Holy Temple in Jerusalem once it was constructed and consecrated. The same with the Mishkan - the traveling tabernacle that they carried with them through the desert for forty years. It is even said that the Ark of the Covenant was a kind of "throne" for G-d to reside. Does G-d literally sit on a throne? No. Does G-d have actual corporeal features such as a face and hands? No. G-d is essentially beyond comprehension, and any description of G-d with body parts is just a way for our minds to be able to comprehend G-d in some way. His absolute oneness, his singularity, is what we focus on in our daily prayers through the recitation of the Shema. As for saying/writing G-d's name, it is in the the ten commandments: You should not say G-d's name in vain. So Jews not only refrain from saying it in vain. We refrain from saying the name at all, lest we say it in vain on accident. In fact, the reason I type G-d with a hyphen is to avoid even spelling out a name that refers to Him. So yes, it is completely out of respect and reverence.

Orthodox Jew here. You did a great job!! Just one point that you missed. The Talmud is a combination of the Torah Shebal Peh (the oral Torah given to Moses on Mount Sinai and passed down from generation to generation, equally important in Orthodox Judaism to the Tanakh or "Torah she' biksav") and the written Torah. The laws are dictated by a combination of these two forms of Torah, and a combination of logical arguments and "mesorah" or laws given to Moses determine the halacha or "laws" that Orthodox Judaism abides by. Overly complicated, but it wouldn't be Judaism if it wasn't 🤣

As I understand it, anything kosher is also halal because kosher is more strict and does not contradict it.

Wow this is very well researched! I'm impressed! Most times I see people get a lot of nuances wrong, but you did very well! Besides for the תנ״ך being written backwards, which many mentioned already, I just also wanted to comment abt the kosher laws, there's also a whole other world of kosher concerning mixing meat products and dairy products which you didn't even mention Also you didn't get this wrong per say but ppl may misunderstand when you talk abt yiddish. yiddish is mostly german from like 600 years ago or something (idk the exact number) and has a bunch of slavic and other lang's influences too; hebrew only makes up a small percentage of words. You didn't say otherwise, but also ppl could understand you meant it's basically hebrew. Also most orthodox jews I'd say don't see the exile as having ended in 1948 when israel was established, only when the messiah comes does the exile end according to them. Again, I loved the video! Great work! Just wanted to comment a couple things

Very late to this, but speaking of Yiddish another criticism is that not all Ashkenazim speak Yiddish and not all Sepharadim speak Ladino, even historically. Most did so I understand making that generalization in a video like this but even among fellow Jews people don't seem to know this!
