I greatly enjoyed this video. It's as if stumbling across MBTI for the first time was the start of season 1 of this whole theory, back when we had no idea where the types even came from and could only gaze with awe at our own ignorance. Then we picked up cognitive functions, watched a few episodes of CS Joseph, ate some chips, browsed Tik Tok for memes, and went to bed. However, now that CPT networks are here, it's like we're on the fourth or fifth season of this story where the plot has been made clear and the puzzle pieces we had been puzzling over at the beginning all fit into one beautiful picture. I'm so glad this channel exists and I can't wait to see where this journey takes us.

@@four2896 just four cognitive functions though. ENFP (Ne, Fi, Te, Si) ISTJ (Si, Te, Fi, Ne) ISTJ's are just inverted ENFP's, from a cognitive function view. That's why enfp's love randomness and ISTJ's love consistency. Different preferences with perception/judgement functions.

I think this risk becoming too abstract. Maybe you could do a video about the ordinary day in the life of an ENTJ (or similar hands-on type), and show how his interaction with the world works according to CPT. Another thing, you often talk about an "inner landscape" in connection to Ni. What is an inner landscape and what does it look or feel like?
@letsreadtextbook1687
@letsreadtextbook1687 Ай бұрын
But it _should_ be abstract, since the conrete stuff is unique to each individual. What an ordinary day is for one individual that happens to be ENTJ would be different to other ENTJ person. CPT specifically distance itself from behavioral mbti for exectly this reason--avoiding stereotype.

I might be off, but I think dip functions are our natural cognitive preferences such as i.e INFP as an Fi-Si convergent dips down into Ti-Ni, Fe-Se... Cognitive gateways is something to yet to be fully expanded upon I guess, and it is the way in which, for example, INFP and INTJ are cognitively approximate types and therefore have certain similarities. I don't understand it quite well yet though, but I hope that helps :))

I'd say for any type put yourself in a position that fosters your default stack but also one that fosters cognitive expansion. Of course there are multiple ways of doing the same task but I think we all need a fair bit of flexibility to be able to flex them brain muscles. I'm currently stuck in a role that values some of my dominant & tertiary networks but not my primary type network. Man it suck's plus it can become quite stressful even if I am consolidating them pathways over time.

So in a way, most mistyping is actually correct typing but just of that person’s auxiliary, tertiary, or inferior networks, they are demonstrating that classic MBTI type in streaks, and either they or observers are fixed on those streaks thinking they’re the primary network. I’m INFP, and make fast friends with INTP’s, and have totally noticed that playful ENFP side of them come out. And for myself, I can have streaks of outward focused ENFJ or cerebral TiNi or even executive TeSe (at times, but it doesn’t last long) come out. I originally mistyped as INTJ (for whatever value classic MBTI has) and then INFJ, so I don’t know how you’d explain that, but I’m guessing I had some idealization of Ni behaviors clouding my objectivity about how I really operate.

Interesting. Analogously to your INTP example ISTPs must have an SeTe (esfp) auxillary network then. It would certainly make sense with me. When I´m angry or pushed to the corner I am often prone to "acting out" and becoming absolutely boisterous, pushy and agressive. I can recall that when I was young I was more prone to bottling up my anger, when a sudden unexpected variable came out of nowhere (like an insult from someone) that I (with my blind FeNe) couldn´t foresee. Back then I used to get "frozen" or paralysed on the spot and I could never react properly. I always remember being very angry though, I just couldn´t externalize it. During my teenages however, I think I´ve come to activate this SeTe aux. network of mine and became much more (perhapse a little overly) confrontational about these little things... I don´t know if it´s an accurate assessment of my cognition but it´s certainly interesting.

My brain just expanded. This definitely helps clear up many gaps and patterns. And I will definitely be rewatching :) _ so in the past, I've noticed there are debates over mbti of characters where the two leading options have conflicting dominant pairings. An example is Sheldon from Big Bang Theory as between ISTJ or INTP, and from an observational perspective, I could see how both arguments could be valid. Same with Squidward as ISTJ vs ISFP (although many comments in these PDB display a novice level understanding of cognitive functions, I can come up with my own solid evidence supporting both ISTJ and ISFP, though always leaning towards one). The auxiliary networks explain why people type these characters a certain way: they are basing their type conclusion on certain situations where the character was in auxillary focus mode. I always thought Squidward seemed like an ISTJ, but I saw many people go for ISFP. Based on this auxiliary network theory, Squidward can be ISTJ going into ISFP then INFJ (which I vaguely recall from certain episodes). Or I could be wrong and he is an ISFP going into INFJ (which I'm sure has happened too but I dont have any recollection). I mostly notice this dilemma when trying to type people in my life, and I just used the fictional characters as an easy reference point. There are some people I see as ESFPs that also have an ESTJ vibe during certain situations where their Te seems most prevalent, rather than giving off ENTJ vibes. For myself, Im pretty sure Im an ENFJ though I have many close contenders, but for the purpose of this we are using ENFJ. I actually paused the video before to draw out my own diagram with ENFJ as the focal point. I see that from the primary axis i can branch into ISTP, INFP, or ESTJ (four sides). From the aux, I see ESFP->ESTJ->ENTP->back to ENFJ. All of these types besides ESTJ I have heavily considered potential types before (though I can pinpoint many situations where I engage Te-Ne in a workflow state. I have highly considered INFJ, ENTP, and ESTP as well, although I will have to reflect on whether my "ESTP" and "INFJ" moments are more of ENFJ->ISTP mode (Ti-Ni usage). One thing to note about my "ESTP" moments is that when I want to do something "Se," it doesn't seem to seem like a stereotypical ESTP would do, but I in these Se moments I actually appear more like an ESFP. This new aux network helps show why I may appear ESFP in these moments, or also why others may see me as an ENTP (when Im around certain friends who I know enjoy NE, I find myself engaging in an Ne-Fe state where Im bouncing random ideas for fun and reactions even though my natural state is more straight forward care and concern for a harmonious environment). Or I'm just confusing myself even more, but I will definitely have to think about all of this for a while, and I'm excited to do so! I just braindumped a lot and my brain itself is out of sleep fuel. A lot of what I wrote about was autopilot thinking lol but as usual great video Harry! I'm definitely curious to see more about the auxillary networks and even tertiary and inferior networks. There were some elements or examples you've provided in previous videos where I've had minor disagreements simply because of potential nuances, but this video helped close out those nuances. This is why CPT is the system I rely on the most (and like you said, the system is compatible with other systems) : D I know this video was only 19 minutes, but I spent 2 and a half hours to dissect the info and translate it into a version for ENFJ (honestly I spent one of those hours just writing this comment lol). And I will be applying this framework to other types I may consider, to help see if I really am an Fe-Se ENFJ, or really an Ne-Fe ENTP -> aux diving into Fe-Se all along!

Thanks for this brilliant comment! I'm typed by Harry as a divergent TiNi ENFJ. I definitely get what you mean: I've considered INFJ before on account of how convergent my TiNi is but now I realise there's obviously a subtle difference between convergent NiTi (conceptualisation) & TiNi (innovation). I think INTJ features somewhere in our network as well - this was a type id strongly considered at one point & it's not difficult to 'convert' our auxillary into the dominant as Harry said. I'd also strongly considered ENTP before as well...it's sounds like you're on the right track with ENFJ here...there's so many ubiquitous stereotypes about us that I rarely find actual ENFJs in forums (many tend to be ESFPs & ESFJs). Heads up as a divergent subtype I related much more to Harry's content on ISTPs as the ENFJ video was centred a bit more around extroverted variants of the ENFJ. Do you think what networks we access might be contingent upon intratype variation (ie subtype) to a degree? I can't access INFP readily as my FiSi is pretty unconscious (something I'm working on).

I think that from the aux it's INTJ instead of ESTJ :) Since the latter is already accessed from the dominant network. + I'm also probably an ENFJ, at least the closest to that type and I was typing myself as an ENTP for years! And also an ENFP, but that was mostly in the 16p era while my knowledge was based more on stereotypes.

@@Tified967 Thanks for the brilliant reply! :) (Pt 1 of 2) I'm not sure if I fall into divergent or convergent ENFJ (I haven't thought about how the other ENFJ subtypes are yet so maybe I'm one of the other subtypes) because I am comfortable with both FeSe and TiNi depending on the situation. LONG STORYTIME: SKIPPABLE (I just describe periods of my life where I was Convergent vs Divergent) ____ When I was younger (elementary school days), I definitely engaged in a lot of the FeSe network, where I was very outgoing, and wanted people to like me. I would be controlling of the vibe, which would actually lead to me being a bully to those that were a threat (or what I perceived as a threat) to the vibe of my group of friends. However, when I would get in trouble for anything, I would feel so much shame and guilt that I would cry, sometimes to the point where I detached from my Extraverted Functions. I don't remember what I would be thinking, but this state likely was an Fi-Si state. After I was done crying, I would always return to my "reality" of FeSe. However, in middle school, I screwed up with FeSe at some point and everyone would tease me for it, and this ruined my confidence and eventually ruined my love for the FeSe world. Looking back now, the kids around me didn't mean to destroy my world (it was just teasing and a joke). It was just how my underdeveloped TiNi at the time perceived it that made me feel ousted from the community. However, this is when I started looking into the future, creating a vision to escape the FeSe. Part of this was because I preferred being alone, and this gave me time to think of what I actually cared about, just in case the FeSe world I knew "would forever be against me." During these years however, I was very private of my vision and did not let anyone know, not even my closest friends. The funny thing is I still had a lot of friends, but for some reason (maybe FiSi) I still perceived this larger FeSe (or maybe NeFe) world as hostile. This mindset continued through the first half of high school but slowly diminished throughout the second half. In the first half, when I was around people, I felt like I had to FeSe conform to what I thought was their ingrained perception of me (FiSi), which made me have no confidence around people. There were also notable moments where I felt ousted from the crowd. One time I was left out from an event, and even my closest friends got invites, and I heard that the host expected me to crash. I took this personally, and I think this is when I really became a divergent ENFJ (Or maybe you can argue Im an ENTJ and I became FiNi focused). The night of the event I remember going to my cousins house and watching Over The Garden Wall, feeling betrayed once again by "my community." This is when I really dove into TiNi, because this was where I began building my confidence. My TiNi was to be successful to prove to this "community I felt ousted from" that I didn't need them to thrive. (Just a quick note that I have no malice towards any of those people anymore and in my mind I've "forgiven" them, though I don't think I will ever forget this event, so it must be some strong FiSi) Around this time (~2016), I had compiled three albums (27 songs) worth of song foundations, which I knew I would save for the future. In the second half of high school, I started becoming comfortable with the FeSe world again, though still building most of my confidence from TiNi. This is when I started to realize that people didn't care about what had happened in middle school anymore (now I know they never cared even back in middleschool).I felt welcomed back into the community that had actually never really kicked me out in the first place. In fact, I got so comfortable to where there were times I would end up like my elementary school bully-like state (the either Te-Ne or Ne-Fe) to get specific reactions. However, by this point the people I'd "poke fun at" knew I was teasing, and I by then I knew how to joke around without crossing the line. In fact, this is how I became friends with a lot of introverts :D This is definitely when I was in my convergent state, spending most of my awake hours interacting with people in person or online. I put aside actively working on my TiNi vision, though I would still have it as a safety net (I might have made some more song recordings but it was in the background of my FeSe focused world). I think the more I was interacting with FeSe, I would accomplish more achievements that made me feel valuable to society (many of these were in leadership roles). I also remember that in most of my friend groups, I was the one member who was close to everyone else in the group. At one point I had to rationalize that some members of the friend group didn't talk with each other outside when we all met together. I valued getting to know everyone in my groups, and was better at managing one on one or small groups. In small group setting, I would be more personal, and could freely share my thoughts and reasoning. In large group settings, I realize I tend to be more chaotic and playing more of the jester role.

(Pt 2 of 2) Halfway through college covid hit, and I was forced to go back into a TiNi state. I began writing songs to express emotion, and realized I could connect this back to my previous music endeavors. Back in my early highschool days, I only made songs out of guitar riffs. During covid, I was only writing lyrics, so I realized I was learning the songwriting skill that would have synergy with my guitar playing skills. This shot my TiNi back into action, as now I had realized a major stepping stone in this Ti-Ni vision. The following spring semester I moved into a house I had signed a lease for before Covid, and I was able to FeSe with my housemates. They were all heavy thinkers, with my closest housemates being heavy Ti users, which allowed me to develop my Ti based frameworks better through lots of challenge in discussions. I also brought down a guitar and was shredding to jam tracks, which I had never done before in my guitar years, and this in itself was what I considered a new skill that could be a benefit towards this musician vision. After the end of that semester, I saw a snapchat memory appear of the 16 personality result I had gotten from exactly a year before. When I had taken the test originally, I brushed it off, but when I saw it a year later, I realized that my "Protagonist" personality type made sense considering my new experiences and understandings from living in a house of friends. This is what started my deep dive into MBTI. However, the biggest reason I have doubts about being ENFJ is the fact that I got it on the 16 Personalities site XD (I dug deeper and found an MBTI test I had to take for a business class Freshman year of college and saw ESFJ. I've tried finding the results of the MBTI test I took freshman year of highschool for a freshman seminar class, but could never find it. I just vaguely remember back that i got "I" as the first letter then.) My senior year of college involved a lot of investigation into the different schools of MBTI and picking out which ideas made sense, with the general understanding that the different MBTI systems could coexist and represented different nuances within typology. After college, I got a sales job (multi level marketing) where I once again fell into the trap of becoming an embodiment of what I thought society perceived me as. I thought that since I was an "ENFJ" who was supposed to be warm and bubbly, and had a weakness of "introverted thinking." I was a pushover who sacrificed many of my goals for others, and was used a lot because that's how I thought the ENFJ should be, despite me not having been that way for pretty much all of my life. I let the stereotype take over, but the FeSe crowd also benefited from me, so I wanted to feel good despite knowing that I was basically a donkey (and I had always thought to myself to not be a donkey ever since the uninvited event in early highschool). I also wasn't very passionate about sales (which affected me performance) because with how much time was being dedicated to the job, I couldn't spend meaningful time towards my music vision. Even if I made it to the dream "manager position," who would bring in hundreds of thousands each year, it would be more time away from my music, which was what really mattered to me. The money wasn't worth sacrificing my vision, and my goal at the sales job was more of helping other people succeed, which would never lead to my personal fulfillment. Once I left the sales job was when I was able to reflect and refocus on my TiNi. This was one of the largest moments of growth in my life (definitely Divergent during this time). I began putting my lyrics into music, as well as integrating some of the old guitar riffs into these new songs. I then learned more about mixing in the process, and began seeing another stepping stone towards my vision being realized. This is also when I really discovered CPT and realized how similar it was to what made sense to my understanding of typology. I saw many nuances in the ENFJ world, and finally there was a system that acknowledged these nuances. This helped me break free from the MBTI stereotypes and realized that no matter what type I am, I can do whatever comes to mind. I became more confident in my internal frameworks, as well as looking into a lot of self-help youtube channels. I spent about two months to myself to reflect, but I then jumped into action the start of this year. This year, I've been able to balance a steady job with my music hobby/vision, and I also think I am pretty balanced in terms of my FeSe and TiNi usage. Although looking back at the year I do think there are times when I'm focusing on my TiNi and then after I complete a project deadline I am in more of an FeSe mode. So that's the journey of how I have been both Convergent and Divergent ENFJ (or similar mistype). I don't know what's up with me and these essay length comments but I honestly learned more about myself while writing this so thanks lol. __ END STORYTIME (if you skipped, start here, this is where it goes back to being a regular reply) Also, you are correct on INTJ, I relooked at the diagram in the video. I think some of what I may describe as my potential ENTJ behavior could just be NiFi activating from SeTe state. As far as the network accessibility, I agree that subtype (or other variation) can have an effect. I think my bad Fe-Se experience has become a part of my Fi-Si lens, and my TiNi is a strong push towards a brighter future, away from these negative emotions. I don't think every divergent ENFJ is trying to escape negative FiSi feelings, but I also dont know the trend among divergent ENFJs and unconscious FiSi (so if you see this let me know what networks you tend to access). Maybe subtype is a factor along with the current state of the ENFJ's circumstance. I'm still not sure what subtype I fall under, but I don't think I access many of the introverted based networks besides TiNi and FiSi, which both seem to revolve around my FeSe wanting to create value and preserving harmony for others. I'm in awe at the fact that I just wrote a comment that was double if not more my initial comment. You are allowing me to understand myself more : ) One day I will get to the bottom of what type I am! (ps I split the comment into two because even KZbin thought it was too long lol)

Now with network theory everything is coming more full circle. When it comes to Fi, I think I have the FiSi dominant functions with the backdrops of NiFi all the time. That's I guess, my dominant (convergent) network. I'm a concrete/specific feeler but I also have very vivid imagination (esp when I was younger) and I'm interested in more abstract and archetypal view of Fi. So I kind of synergize both, but always in a way which is specific and makes sense, to me at least. I still don't know if i'm more protectve of my FiSi or NiFi tho 😅 Edit: that being said, now i wonder how INTJ does the same thing, having FiSi side network? I.e synergize but with NiFi core...

Harry this was another stella video! Can I ask would the auxillary, tertiary networks etc be influenced by intratype variation at all (for example Im a divergent ENFJ subtype)? As my TiNi+ is more convergent than my FeSe+ in terms of conscious magnitude does this have any ramifications? Would rendering Fe hyperconvergent be as much of a big ask? Or am I missing something here? I'm sure I could work it out for myself but could please tell me what the networks for an ENFJ would be? I'd certainly appreciate independent content for each cognitive type. It makes sense now why A-LOT of ESFPs (like thousands) mistype as INFJs as it's their inferior network (ok & other things like they simply don't understand cognition at all lol & there's no wander they perceive Ni-Ti as this unconscious mystical force)...yup I'm still the 'troll' of supposed INFJ forums though I feel it will autocorrect itself as systems like CPT become more common place; some people simply cannot be reasoned with & invest too much of their identity in the INFJ label...I do find the likes of Wenzes unethical though, she takes peoples money without vetting/substantiating what cognitive type someone is & doesn't understand cognition to begin with but rather plays to ubiquitous stereotypes...Apologies for tangent, I've just received a lot of angry kick back to simply pointing out that people might be behavioural INFJs but not cognitive INFJs in the Jungian sense..it's worth it though, I found a few new recruits for CPT who since rejected the INFJ label...can't stand someone playing on others insecurities whether that be neurodivergence, HSP etc 😊

I wouldn't necessarily say your TiNi is ISTP level convergent in that manner, but it would make the FeSe+ seem more demonstrative of knowledge than the more dynamic FeSe+-NeFe+ dipping you see in more convergent subtypes. So hyper convergent Fe would definitely be a bigger ask in your case than it would be for a more convergent subtype :)

This is a lot of mental information to process, but it's interesting 😄 Oh an also I can't believe you found the reason to being back "tertiary" and "inferior" i find it so redundant but, idk yet what it's exactly referring to so i'll wait i guess lol I hope the next individual type video will be ESTJ as it's the only type you haven't yet dipped down into 👏

15:35 is that part of projecting yourself into the future and knowing how’d you feel also a thing for ESFP? And is there a difference between using that pair to do that in convergent and divergent ways? For me it’s usually pretty rigid thing to do. Like I’d lock it in place and just “know” how’d I feel about something and it can become like a self-fulfilling prophecy. And I’d love to see more network maps unraveled, especially ESFP and ENTJ 🤗

It's fascinating to see this channel developing in this direction! Having watched this video a few times, I've wondered whether access to the tertiary network may be somewhat influenced by (interestingly) socionics type, e.g. ENFJs I've known who are IEE may use more Ni-Ti than ENFJ EIE. It works the other way too; ESFJ LII are just as stuck in their Ti-Si ways as ESFJ ESE, but having greater convergence of it. Would be nice to see how the systems relate to each other in this sense.

Very interesting, as shown in the visual representation at 16:37, how, let's say, if the dominant network obeys a codec agenda, both it's auxiliar and tertiary networks will be lens based functions. Basically MBTI "coming back" to it's roots. It would be amizing to have videos exploring the implications of this CPT "expansion" :)

When you show the conginitve network i would say you are missing an arrow from the top conitive pairing to the bottom one, right? I mean, you need to, for example with infp, connect eFS to eTN. Otherwise, why would an infp be able to dip to iTN from iFS?

INTP here and the portion you talked about our silly NeTe streak clicks with me, sometimes i wonder if I'm really INTP or ENTP because i relate a lot with the wildcard archetype and in your video of 5 signs you're not an ENFP discussed basically this; that Fi auth don't like what they're told, INTP feels the same way but since Fi is unconscious and anti-constitutional to its Ti counterpart we repressed it and become meek. Now i think about the next thing wondering IF with CPT we can in the long-term adapt more sound bawis about humans free will. For instance, few years back I would abandon just the thought of cultivating ENFJ-like attitudes but if these gateways are continual I wonder if there's a way to securely detach ourselves from the ego if you will.

ENFJ here in CPT. It can be done. I had to take a Cambridge aptitude test for philosophy & this was very TiSi heavy. Can't say I did the best on it but I scored well. Sure I can't spend extensive periods of time in that network & getting to that level/stretching that band was difficult but I did it at 17 no less (oh I'm now 39 & have regressed somewhat!)

@@Tified967 Contrary to popular belief many INTPs (I'm so/sx 5 in enneagram as many INTPs are) are thirst for deep connection with a potential signficant other, and we compensate that through counterintuitive ways that more often than not push the other toward an unwanted direction. Charming women is easy for me in the initial step, but once I got slightly intimate with her i drop the Fe-Ne atmosphere that can be taken the wrong way- sometimes even more childish than the ExTPs. Tbh there's no getting away from the fact that say NiFi or TiNi aren't abstract. I'm an ENFJ & if you ask me to explain TiNi to you in concrete terms I'd really struggle even though it is a fully conscious progress as I'm a conglomeration of Ni data points into alignment with my Ti. This is from speaking to other people on the discord & Facebook: most have found they have light bulb moments when they see themselves using the functions in action & have some prerequisite knowledge to begin with. Whatever way we frame it I don't think this is easily digestible as it's much more akin to reality (which we can't change). I could give you examples of me using TiNi but I fear that still wouldn't describe the actually thought process to you. I think Harry knows he's audience & knows it will expand gradually. Yes, perhaps some cognitive types are more naturally predisposed at giving more concrete examples however. I see where you're going ie 'a day in the life of' indeed I think this is really cool idea.

Harry how would you explain my SiTi parallel network as an ENFJ? As this is distinct from my TiNi is there therefore no 'paradox' in rendering Ti hyperconvergent? Does being a divergent subtype fit into this at all? My ISFJ network seems to be in closer proximity to my primary network even if distinct (yes paradoxical) than where the ISFJ network would fit in re the dom, aux, tertiary etc networks would dictate. Apologies I hope I'm making sense! Am I confused; is SiTi for me distinct or am I dipping or extending into SiTi? This is all starting to click but when looking at my write up I'm a bit confused as TiNi & SiTi appear to be distinct...they can't be operating simultaneously so I'm missing something here...

@@CognitivePersonality thanks Harry. I'm wandering if this is causing me some issues in real time re expressing myself as they're running simultaneously. I generally express myself a lot better in writing when I've had the chance to really 'weave them together'. I can even feel myself in interviews being pulled in 2 directions that I end up either going too broad or too specific & the myriad in between. It's ironic as it's a brilliant duo for capturing specificity & the whole picture that elucidating that thought process can be difficult in real time. Maybe the perfectionist in me needs to loosen up a bit, as well as the feeling of imposter syndrome despite being qualified 8 years with a diverse range of experiences in my profession. Then again the lack of conscious TiSi- can't be helping either...it's so difficult for me to improvise on the spot/recall information which is generally why as a type I guess we're ultra prepared if it's something we want enough.

Socionics Model G shows the correct Auxiliary Formula for TiNe (LII/mbti-INTP) should be: Ti - Ni - Fi - Si - Ti Ne-Fe - Se-Te - Ne The top 4 functions we use more publicly in society. The bottom 4 functions we use more privately when the stakes are not as high. So in private INTPs behave more NeFe, like mbti-ENFPs do. Vertical Blocking also exists. So INTP's Ti can dip down to Ne. Their Ni can dip down to Fe. Also in Socionics Ni = past and future.
