COH2 FPV I'm probably never going to play this commander again

Literally fix the Puma timing that's literally the problem of this Commander for a Puma that comes very late than a Okw Puma and it comes nearly the timing of Medium tanks you could just wait a little more to get a Pz4 instead of getting a Puma

Yeah honestly if it came at 4 CP and they moved the Greyhound timing to 3 CP both units would be more useful especially in 1v1 games.

Im not sure why this doc is nerfed because its fine the way it is when Puma was 0 CP, then it was made 5CP and the entire doc is pointless because the Puma is way too late Then they removed Ostruppen and replaced it with the 251 camo post, the 251 camo post isnt bad, but its not as useful as 2 ostruppens on demand.

It was nerf because of the super early 251 Flame/222 + Puma combo tho there later patches that fix the timing of it so it doesn't come out to quickly. Idk why the nerf it again to the point of it's not worth it to use in it's current timing since it comes very late (at the timing of Medium tanks) and you could just wait a little more to get a Pz4

@@karlcraft2496 Yeah the sweet spot was around when you need to produce it from your T2 after. Right now the doctrine is just nerfed to hell and have nothing aside from the get out of jail free smoke (which is always nice) and command tank (which is meh)

@@RahmatTalua ​ Recon ~~Assault~~ Support for USF is good because you have Pathfinders, an excellent unit in all stages of the game, the butterfly bombs, which is pretty much a 'move or be wiped' call in that has very little warning and reaction time, and the Greyhound is a nice alternative to the stuart that comes out around the same time. You have a doctrine with a good infantry unit, an AT gun drop that's reasonably priced, an alternative LV option, and a very good anti infantry call in. In contrast, pretty much the entirety of Mobile Defense hinges on the Puma. You don't have a late game call in / fire support, you (used to) have Ostruppen, but this is really only a bonus to bolster your forces, not a core unit as it comes a bit late. You basically go Puma + Command tank and go T4. Now, with your Puma coming in super late, you basically only have the get out of jail free smoke (good) and command tank with a camoed up 251 (both mediocre), no fire support, no late game or early game call in.

The only strategy I use with this doctrine is smoke then quick capture and do it again through the whole match

@tightrope gaming, what is your current advice in this meta for a soviet build order in, say a 2v2 on your side on highway to Baku, vs ostheer and okw? Are penals your new fav vs okw, or conscripts into 1-2 guards? Is the scout car viable, or do you prefer a maxim start? And vs ostheer, conscripts can't take on the flank of the mg42 when it's guarded by pios, but penals makes you so static.... So conscript, mortar conscript? Do you play sniper at all? Esp even with the new nerf coming 😱

I only use pz taction and capture time reduce plus command tank I like to use smoke and then quick capture vp or fuel

I tried a few builds with this commander using the Puma and Command tank to skip T3 and go straight for T4. Puma usually came out way too late and while the command tank was good it wasn't worth it unless I went double Pak. But then without the Puma why not just go for any other doctrine? I tried variations using light Grens and Ostruppen call ins to overwhelm my opponent but if it was an equally skilled player it just wouldn't work out. If they improve the Puma timing it might be viable.

Pretty much the same experience for me. Maybe if you are against double light vehicles in a high command point game the puma can help, pretty much no other use case.

Allows it to camo and reveal enemies in the map at 60 range. (Must not upgrade with flamethrower) This ability is situationally useful only since 60 range stationary reveal on minimap is not very good when the 222 has a mobile 60 minimap reveal, but allowing the 251 to camo can make it a useful reinforce point later on in the match. The Puma comes in very late and usually you're already dealing with a t-34 when you have it

Is the command pz4s guns just a straight downgrade? Or is it better vs infantry than the standard pz4 gun? If only it could lockdown like in coh1 where it just massacred everything. At least it seems to be able to sometimes pen medium tanks in coh2

Consider 2 "phanter 4" with deff buff, how many anti tank shoot to kill it? How to kill infantry with defense buff all the time? Axis can trade resource very efficiently. If only they make UKF command tank can be this good. And dont forget axis command tank can decently kill infantry unlike UKF command tank. I hope my argument can shed a light. Please teach meme how to counter this in 4v4 or anything. Thank you

Puma should be a 3-4 CP call in or built in T2 with 0CP Also “mobile defence” requiers some sort of more mobility or better on the move fighting - like squad leader or g43s Also vehicle smoke would be nice and logical Camo for halftrack? If you use it as stealthed reinforce point it’s ok command pz 4 is useless here, yeah, it’s mobile and yes it give defence but not in this composition, having more than 1 doctrine unit of each type is bad for doctrine Take a look at soviet doctrines with IS 2. You either get kv or is 2 or t34/85 or is2, in both doctrines you don’t take both since they perform bad together cuz it’s easy to be hard countered American mech doctrine - lot’s of vehicles but you won’t see both shermans USF Armor doctrine - if you pick wolverine to you 105 you usualy loose cuz it doesn’t have range and penetration needed for supporting 105 and 105 can’t keep up with wolverine So command tank should be changed for something else Recon would be nice Mb shotrmtroopers since they can raid mortars etc. giving you some sort of “mobile defence”

Sure I could be better but I was playing a vaguely similar half track strategy with a different commander before this and I dropped from around rank 45 to 65 using this commander.
