Highly recommend the Afterman albums Pretty approachable as far as Coheed goes, and gives you a great taste of their range. For deeper cuts I recommend the Willing Well II: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, Delirium Trigger (live version at the Stalrand Ballroom is amazing), The Audience, 33, and a song from their original band Shabutie, called Strung Short. I hope you enjoy!

I love this song so much.... I just learned to play U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday on drums without sheets (after a lot of practice).... now I am going to practice every day Message in a bottle.. In the end it's my goal to feel the song flowing in my body while drumming, just like what is happening with Josh Eppard. A drum demon is taking over his brains.:-) It is amazing. Greetings from Amsterdam. Drumeo is such an amazing channel.

Coheed is one of the craziest rabbit holes. Might scare you away at first but trust the process. Try the album with the big "IV" cover.

@@Kathayne636 Can't really go wrong with that but I think Good Apollo is a better introduction. It's way better produced for starters and if you hit the rabbit hole, the whole writing writer meta-narrative is pretty dope.

Don't be self conscious about it!! If you look at most amazing musicians when they get lost in what they are playing their whole body gets involved and that's beautiful to see

There's some visual resemblance with Josh and Lars Ulrich, but, regarding drumming, they couldn't be more apart from each other, hehehe... Great video!

@@exknoll4755 that’s for you. Lars is his own drummer, and so is Joshua. For you to criticize someone by them saying that they look like Lars and you getting offended by that just because you hate Lars is what you should be ashamed of yourself. Why don’t you take a stand for yourself and apologize to that poor person for what they said? They probably could use it and you could too. And get off KZbin if you’re gonna be like that.

Josh's love for drumming is so contagious! I had to immediately jump up and head into the practice room. Seems like all I (attempt to) play these days are Coheed songs. His kit sounds SO GOOD. I love that Keywork snare so much, holy smokes.

In my opinion, Message In a Bottle is one of those cases where the recording version hasn´t been surpassed or ¨improved¨, even by Stewart Copeland himself. Also, the studio version has some ¨overdubs¨ like ride bells. Having said that, I think Josh makes an excelent job.

I love this and love Josh’s playing. I feel like the 4 on the floor with syncopated rimshots during “message in a bottle” is a really important element of the song he missed the mark on. He was doing too much with the high hat and kick stutter ghost note thing.

Yeah cymbal placement to me always mattered when it comes to the way you play and the build of the drummer , he got long arms and he’s playing open handed. That’s a comfortable setup for his style. I love it tbh
