I HAAATED Coheed when I was in high school and college because I was a metal elitist and thought it was emo but now at 37 and more accepting, Coheed is really exceptional, great to blast at the pool, solid summer music for me

I had heard favor house Atlantic, and went out to buy in keeping secrets, but the hot topic only had second stage, and I bought it on a whim and I drove a 95 jeep Grand Cherokee when I was 17-18, and that album stayed in that cd player for a few years, it was literally the only cd I kept in that vehicle. Such nostalgia, remembering learning how to drive, with the boys, we all enrolled at the same driving school and took turns learning how to drive and we all carpooled to highschool. Man, those were the days.

I was 12 or 13, same thing bud. My dad died of a heroin overdose - my mom has moved us into my grandma's house and I was sleeping on the couch, failing at school. I didn't give a fuck about anything except my cd player and my skateboard. I don't even know why I got the album, my god. Grabbed it from the store I think along with the system of a down album both had just come out. Time consumer, delirium trigger, everything evil changed my young life. And I was already aware of a broad range of music too. Had never heard anything like this before, shook me to my core. Emotion pouring off. Good god it's been over twenty years.

I’m 30 years old, NOW... I will never forget the metaphorical branding that ‘Welcome Home’ bestowed upon my soul! But, shame on me , because I never delved deeper than Apollo:4! Longwinded point being is that I recently read this albums corresponding Amory Wars Deluxe(complete) and as I’m sure almost all here are well aware. So, now I have the privilege AND pleasure of being able to start from phase one and listen/watch with this beautiful, broad, mythological vision that has be n bestowed upon us from Claudio The Splendiferous. Seriously... sometimes music finds YOU at the right time and I feel like that is the care with my experience. I’m ready for so much more💿

The young stale memories of play the role to your part Librarian find me the pole, the one that kicks your head in To my own time, roll your own innocence by Grab on to my sleeve, the one that grabs at your ankle! Debate to understand that we all have a flaw Then fail to represent your life as you know it God grant you one wish to turn back the time Correct and create, making sense of Me and my star, Matthew, goodnight You know by law when you'll be forgiven Maria, my star, Matthew, goodnight You know by Lord when you'll be forgiven So they pulled your confidence down with those verbal discrepancies Now and then you'll gain what they've lost through a challenge of unpronounced Pain is only a pulse if you just stop feeling it You might be able to use the very things that make us up Me and my star, Matthew, goodnight You know by law when you'll be forgiven Maria, my star, Matthew, goodnight You know, my lord- Wait, now, here when will you believe me? Man, I miss old Coheed. Got into these guys summer of 2004, got to see them at Warped Tour that year. They were so little known, they played one of the second stages (haha fitting) at like 11:30 AM. Nowhere near top billing. I loved poppy punky eclectic and unique Coheed. Shit that just made you want to dance. The oohs and ahhs. Now its more like Progheed and Cambria. I'm just not into that.

I agree w/ CJ, there will never be another Coheed. However, if you want more music like this album in specific, i’d suggest looking into post-hardcore and emotional-hardcore as genres. As CJ said At the Drive In and Thursday are good places to start. I’d really recommend Circa Survive, there seems to be a lot of overlap between their fans and coheed fans. The Mars Volta, Glassjaw etc. Don’t sound exactly like Coheed obv, but same genre. You can find tons of post hardcore playlists online.

I don’t believe in Sub-Genra labels or any of that garbage. But if I did need to label Coheed I would call it Theatrical Metal with Power Metal riffs. It’s beautiful. I’ve just become a fan this year. ❌❌❌❌

It's a bit of a stretch to call this "metal", never mind theatrical/power metal.

It's progressive rock with a little pop punk. That's basically what most people call it.

I usually go with prog-rock, but it’s not a stretch at all to call Coheed metal. Consider how much Claudio sounds like Ozzy, and the sci-fi/fantasy/horror themes are strong with them as well.

I wasn't even born yet,. Headphones on. Walking through what I think was highschool. A black kid punched a window and I put ranch on my slice of pizza. Later that night. I ran for class president. As an unborn. Did not win. But my real name is Pedro. Allegedly. This song. This band made me the baby I am today.
