Coin Roll Hunting $1,000 in Canadian Loonies - Snagged some Low-Mintage and Colour!

The Canadian $1 coin, or "Loonie," as it's known (due to the coin featuring the common loon), has been minted since 1987, and there are lots of intersting things we can look for, includeing low-mint issues, commemorative coins, and even colourized varieties. This particlar box came from a local laundromat. Let's see what comes up through the wash!

Thanks, Ogir! I'm not sure exactly why the Mint chose to make the non-colourized lower mint coins. The general public will know they have something special with the colourized ones - perhaps they wanted to do something special for collectors?

I'm almost done with all of my US coin books for modern stuff but it's tough to get Canadian coins near me. My family is going to Michigan for a family visit in a couple of weeks but based on the rolling of the eyes, I don't think my wife is gonna drive to Canada to pick up coin boxes for me. Most of the banknotes I see in circulation are the standard, horizontal ones. I still see the vertical Viola Davis ones in circulation, as well.
