1923 …… king tuts tomb is opened, First issue of Time Magazine, The Disney brothers cartoon studio was founded, and so many more 👍 nice finds. So you refer to the “facing” of the coin but I never see or notice the difference 🤔 I don’t understand……. Show and explain please. Be well brother 👊🏻☮

A lot happened in 1923! Thanks a bunch bro, a nice productive box even though it was pieced together by the bank. As far as “facing” do you mean when I say “obverse and reverse”? If so, obverse is the front side that I see when I find it in the roll, same goes for the reverse side. I honestly like seeing the reverse side as I find them because it wont reveal the date and gives me a more “natural reaction” when I show what year it is under the scope. Whenever I see such a fine specimen as you have uncovered, I think about how many years those pennies have sat undisturbed in someone's sock drawer until getting scraped up and rolled because rent is due or someone got hungry and cashed it in. Hopefully, they can sit another 50 or so years until you are in need of rent money or get hungry one day.

I think about things like that all the time, especially if I find a very old coin metal detecting. One time metal detecting a town commons in an old section of Massachusetts, I found a 2200 year old Greek coin about 5 inches deep in the ground. I still look at it periodically and wonder how it got here and when was it lost? Blows my mind every time. Hopefully I never have to sell off my collection like I have several times in the past. Hey S2C!! Great finds in this box! The RF on the euro coin means "Republique Francaise" which is French Republic in english , so you were rght this coin is from France! Its probably one of the first minted coins , i dont know if there were minted any euro coins earlier than 1999 anywhere in europe!
