Thank god you're back, I was having withdrawal symptoms. It is so nice to have a coin tuber that teaches us about our hobby as we watch. So many just flick through coins and put them in a book and often don't even remember the names of the coins let alone anything about them. I'm looking forward to this. Welcome Back!

Fun hunt mate!! Was recently given a 1946 penny by a friend. It was the first time I had ever seen one. I love the design with the seated Britannia and it has become one of my favourite coin designs. Then I found your channel and the 999 old pennies video. Loved it, hope you find just as many good ones in this batch! Nice Napoleon coin, Hope you find at least one Australian too.

Oh Paul -How much Fun was the first part of this hunt. I started metal detecting here in Australia a little while ago & found a Penny & Half penny. After looking at a couple of sites to see if they were valuable. I Ended up looking at your Threepenny bit hunt. I have a couple I brought over from UK Do you remember Refreshers ? well-- when I was a kid in the early 60's there used to be a Refreshers machine outside the sweetshop in New Southgate It was screwed to the wall with wooden plugs So we used to pull machine slightly off the wall to get some of the Fruppnies out (Never took too many otherwise the shopkeeper would have sussed us. We used to spend all our ill gotten gains in his shop buying Bangers !! (I have only just realised its Guy Faulks night in 2 days time) Penny for the Guy outside the Ranelagh was sometimes Very good -Once one drunken old bloke gave us Half a Crown We were RICH !! How do you remember all the oddities & rarities? I found a load of old pennies in an antique shop and was going through. All i could remember to look for was the mint mark 😃 glad you are back to refresh my memory

Nice video and 1863 penny - the exergue looks like the one on some of the 1865 5 over 3 examples, so perhaps it was struck with a die that was subsequently revamped for the 1865 penny production....

I can assure you as a wee boy in my short trousers going to the ‘shows’ to play the old penny slots, I needed a belt on tight to hold my trousers up with all the heavy pennies I had scrounged off of parents and relations 😂
