I believe in having tools that last a long time, and not in having or buying "consumable" tools where you have to buy them over and over again. These new stainless steel folding cones are a huge improvement over the softer canvas-based Phenolic folding cones, (that are light brown in color and wear out quickly.) These new folding cones could quite possibly last *forever*! ;-)
I also show how wrapping pipe thread tape around your folding cones can protect 100% of the inner detail of any coin that you're folding.

I have seen a lot of great vids, as i am just starting out, and i made my folding cones out of a couple of 4 way lug wenches, and have a good selections of size. i cut them off the end of the of the four ways and they work GREAT!

Hi Martin, Just got your steel folding cones, and rubber polishing kit. I have to say the stainless cones are SUPERB, I can stretch faster, more accurate, and with lithium grease, so smooth, they make the process a lot easier, and therefore I have the confidence to make more expensive, and desirable rings.I intend to make a dedicated polishing station for the rubber chucks, to remove the ribbed edge, when needed and to polish also, will post a video when I finish the machine. Hi, great informative videos, I have your folding dies and old style folding cones, SUPERB !!!!!. Just one point, could you make a half set,,,small and large. In UK the larger cones are un-used, I make Half Crowns regularly and only use the two smaller cones. Great work many thanks, keep up the great videos. Stu n Caz. X.

Thanks Gene! I wouldn't say that the Stainless Steel cones provide more stability over the previous cones that were made out of a polymer based material, it's mainly that these new cones won't develop groove marks in them and ultimately wear out. Some folks have also noted that it seems to allow them to fold their coins down with better accuracy... that's a good thing! ;-)

Hello, did you post a video a few weeks back about adding reeds to the cut edge? I saw a video about this pop up on my KZbin feed but it seems to have been taken off of KZbin. I've had multiple customers of mine ask if this was possible and I'd be very interested to see if anyone has accomplished it in the past.
