Strong accent, but who fucking cares? Since you are understood, it's just awesome. And, just between us, an accent makes girls more interested.

Thank you for your video. I’m researching Brazilian accent for an audiobook that I’m narrating. The voice is of a teenage boy; only a few lines but your video has helped me enormously. Ciao!

First and foremost, it is of paramount importance to point out that there is a difference between fluency (how fluent you are) and accuracy ( how correct you speak). Unfortunately, there are a lot of Brazilians who are much more concerned about accuracy by studying just grammar. I am NOT saying that accuracy is not important, it does play an important role when it comes to speaking with precision and confidence. Both things, fluency and accuracy, should go hand in hand. However, it is crystal clear on this video that his level of fluency is far higher comparing to his accuracy level. nevertheless, he did manage to get the message across, in other words, he made himself understood. What is more, you do not get rid of your accent over night, it is really time-consuming and it requires a lot of patience and constant practice. Additionally, learning English does not have anything to do with where you are, I have been given the chance to meet people who lived in the States for quite a long time and did not pick up the language nor spoke English like this guy. All in all, it is not about where you are, it is all about exposing yourself to the language as much as you possibly can; and as he has mentioned previously on the video, listen to English, read in English, but it is also vital to take a more active role by speaking and writing. Remember, when you read and listen, you are just receiving information (input ), on the contrary, when you write and speak, information is coming out of you (output). I am glad there are Brazilians who recognise the importance of the English Language in a globalised world that has been changing constantly. Way to go Gabriel!! and keep up with the good job and remember:PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. ;-)
