I saw on Twitter from one of the Army who was in the audience, that this was the second recording of the performance. Apparently, Suga wasn't happy with the sound of the backing track during his verse, so he made them do it again and pulled Jungkook aside and directed him to sing the backing vocals during his verse. I just love that they seek to deliver quality performances and don't hesitate to make adjustments when needed.

I'm honestly blown away. Im a new fan but fell in love with them very quickly. their talent is unmatched. I love how intimate this feels without the dancing cus I feel I can focus on their voice more. they look and sound absolutely stunning. At first i wasn't sure if it was a good idea to perform without dancing at an American show since they sing all in Korean and usually people can forget the language barrier when they see how talented they are at dancing while singing live at the same time, but i should have known that i was worried for nothing. These boys are just so good, whether they dance or not, and because they are so used to singing live while dancing so hard, when they actually sit down, they are even more incredible. I'm glad they did this performance, so now people can see that they are really good live singers and rappers and not just good dancers. Also, i truly love this song.

I feel each BTS member’s vocals and rapping shine when they perform ballads live, standing or sitting. Each BTS member adds so much to their vocal ‘moment’. It’s incredible, and unusual, to have 7 members who can all sing or rap-each brings his own flavor to a song (verses being divided among the 7-each one so beautifully interpreting his part). I wonder how it’s decided who sings what verse-do the words have a special meaning to a certain member, so he wants to sing it? Is it high notes (Jimin or Jin sings), low notes (Tae sings)? Each voice flows into the next. I’ve listened to this beautiful song on Colbert’s show multiple times. And BTW, J-Hope’s voice is lovely as I’ve seen him mostly rapping (he’s very talented whether rapping, dancing or singing).

A lot of people, especially western audiences can't believe they can pull off intense choreography and sing live, but they don't realize BTS trained for years before they put out an album to pull off stable vocals.
