The US version was based on the UK version, but given how long the US version ran and how different it was from the UK show, I think it's ok to distinguish between the two. @@4seeableTV You still seem to be missing the point, which is that “the British version of The Office” is the original. All other versions (of which there are many), including the popular US version, are remakes/adaptations of the original British series created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Ricky and Stephen created The Office itself. Calling it “the British version” makes it sound like it’s just another adaptation or remake rather than the original. Do you see what we mean now? It’s like saying Matt Groening created “the American version of The Simpsons”, which is ludicrous.

British version of The Office? You mean the original!!

Please stop saying “The British version of The Office” when it’s the ORIGINAL. It’s like saying “The American version of Cheers”. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant created The Office, which was then adapted and remade by numerous countries around the world, including the US. Give Ricky and Stephen their dues, please.

Funny man Mr. Merchant from a fellow Bristolian. Shared a workshop space with Banksy once. Still don't know who he is.

T Shirt dresses, Stephen, are the answer. They fit in all the right places and if they're short people just think they are meant to be minis.

Do you all recognize Stephen Merchant? He was briefly Amy Farah Fowler's love interest in The Big Bang Theory who was infatuated with her because she knew and had kissed Dr Dr Sheldon Cooper. He was a Cooper Groupie.
