True but I kinda agree with Brian because Shiv is the one Logan abuses the least (the bar is in hell with his parenting) he emotionally manipulates her but seems to have a genuine affection to her that he does not have with his sons. I think it's Roman that says early on how Shiv is like daddy's favorite and Logan even calls her pinkie which is as tender as Logan can get, he said he regrets spoiling her and you can tell that's why she turned out entitled, expecting to be the chosen one because she's good and "the favorite child". Logan has no problems verbally and physically abusing Kendall and Roman but not Shiv, in fact when he gets mad at Shiv he hits Roman instead because while he is awful he is not awful enough to hit a woman especially not his youngest daughter, so he takes it out on Roman. The worst he ever insulted Shiv was calling her a coward and mocking her in the season finale which compared to what Roman and Kendall have to endure from him that's nothing. Connor is smart not too get too involved with him and I guess he had a better mother than Caroline since he is the most normal of the bunch.
@geneparmesan8748
@geneparmesan8748 Жыл бұрын
@@kira-zk6op Adding to this I could see Connor get low regard just for being so generally unfocused. I don’t see Logan being proud of Connor or his accomplishments in any way. At his best he’s doing things (like hosting the Sad Sack Wasp Trap) for Logan’s approval. I could definitely see Shiv being the favourite, though part of me also leans toward Roman. I feel like Logan can constantly see the potential in Roman even when he thinks Roman doesn’t see it in himself, and it’s Roman failing to meet that potential that elicits the sternest rebukes from Logan.

I almost guarantee he would be just as bad as any of them if he actually had means. But I guess we’ll see in season 4.

Logan is a typical NPD, ASPD, Sociopath. He was fine with Shiv having it so long as it was all on his terms. She got too eager and intrusive, and tried to assume power, and he took all the power back and shut her down. She did need to learn her place, so some of his pullback was legit. Meanwhile, Kenny was a traumatized CPTSD cyborg who was Logan’s lapdog, which is what he wanted. Kenny then moved up in Logan’s eyes. [Even despite his horrid rap and the idiot actress he dated.]
@maddudehahaha
@maddudehahaha 3 жыл бұрын
I have a theory that Logan's sister who passed away young, Rose, was a redhead like Shiv. So he probably loves her a little bit extra because she reminds him of the sister that 'he couldnt save'. The only nice thing the audience ever sees Logan's brother say to him is that his sister's death wasn't his fault, so we can clearly infer he felt guilt for her passing for a long time. Likely wants to protect Shiv unlike his boys because of that.

It's funny to see this is Kieran. The only other time I caught an interview of him was with Conan and he was the sweetest, most humble and even sometimes shy guy, which shows me that as he said in that interview, he absolutely adores Conan. Amazing.

Did Brian forget about his two younger children? 😄 And apparently a snippet of the "who's Tom's real partner?" conversation was cut -- Matthew mentions that Tom, Greg, and Shiv are rarely in a scene together (Sarah goes "that's funny, hmmm..."), and Nicholas says that Tom "keeps the side-piece away" from the wife. 😂 I'm guessing HBO asked them to cut that part out!

So many time when a character clicks or becomes iconic, people tend to appreciate the actors more than the casting and writing people. Most times the game is won when writers know what that character is and who fits it.
