Roman and Gerri was such a genius writing move. I love that they flipped the script like that from the usual older man/younger woman game.

One of the best "freebies" was in Tern Haven. After Shiv blurted out she was the successor and the dinner was over and everyone else left; they kept the cameras rolling and Brian Cox and Sarah Snook improvised the scene where he just tapped against his class and both of them looked at each other. That was such a good scene.

@@BatmanHQYT Ledger was the first to get "serious" film critics to universally enjoy a portrayal of the Joker. It's our modern benchmark of quality acting because Heath Ledger was able to take something that was usually campy and usher it into high quality drama. Now every portrayal of the Joker has to have some kind of gritty Pagliacci origin story until someone else blows everyone's mind with a new rendition.

This show is actually great at revealing obscure aspects of human nature not shown on other TV shows. In Gerri's case it's how men of all ages are attracted to older plain Jane's who are very private and don't really welcome attention that is not attributed to their work as they are extremely professional, career driven, capable. loyal but nurturing at the same time! Gerri is so FN womanly and feminine and doesn't need to flaunt it which is why Roman is going crazy for her! She's like a velvet sledgehammer GMILF! :)) PS. And Tom would laugh and say 'And she knows where all the bodies are buried Greg!' :)) PPS. The show is so brilliant when they have such an entertaining character like Connor as the marginalised sibling. My favourite episode of all is S2 and E4 where they have the shooting in the company building & Tom & Greg in the panic room, Roman doing the Wayco Management course but the highlight was when Connor and Willa were the family representatives of the controversial former executive Mo Lester's funeral and when Connor delivers the vague eulogy that Willa brilliantly and spontaneously so as to deny the Roy Logan biographer any ammunition in her would be book! 'Mo has now passed on. We will all die one day. Mari,. Lester's wife of 15 years is now sad.' :))))

Jeremy himself said Kieran tried to make him laugh when they were filming a scene and he laughed but then he was upset he messed up a scene and broke character. I agree with Brian Cox who said he should be kinder to himself and the people he works with. I don't think his absence here had anything to do with that though, probably unavailable.

This is a whole big deal about a show I refuse to watch. I do not find stories about shitty wealthy people entertaining. Maybe I am simply sick of seeing my family members portrayed as far more interesting than they actually are. Wealthy people have the same DNA as poor people. They are not special. They are far less interesting than not wealthy people. Wealthy people are about 1 thing: maintaining wealth. Story over.
@Damasiofa
@Damasiofa 3 жыл бұрын
Although I agree most your points, the reason the show works for me, specially, it's because they portray wealthy people as much worse than everyday people. That endless quest for power e control make them deranged, sick and completely unnerving people. You don't like the characters as much as you nauseous by how they talk and act. In the comedy scene you don't laugh with them as much as you laugh at them. Its more like Arrested Development than it's like Dallas or Billions. They make clear, exemple after exemple, how little they care about everyday people, how they can't relate to them, how they make decisions that crush thousands of people's lives and livelihoods in a wim. That said, this is the reason the show work for me, because they choose to focus in how sick this people are than romanticize their. But this doesn't mean it will work for you.
