As an amateur keyboardist, the first time I heard Jon in an interview and sort of a review of his album and a couple of tracks were played on either NPR's 'Morning Addition' or 'All Things Considered', I nearly had a third stroke as I was laughing so hard. My father was a serious Jazz pianist as is my brother and they both would appreciate this humour and also laugh their heads off. This is absolutely BRILLIANT and I appreciate his humour and must remember to buy the album as my son (another musician in our family) and I will laugh together. well it's not the first time he's picked up a trumpet lol. I've seen him with one before. I have spent about an hour with a trumpet before in my life time and I could probably do what he did. If you're already a singer, and know somebody well who can play it does help a lot.

Reebok Thom Gaming I played for years....he clearly had picked up a trumpet before. most can get noise to come out of it....he has an embouchure that has some experience. he has also used the word embouchure before, which is evidence that he knows how to play a bit.

Reminds me of a band called Half Japanese. They basically did the same thing by going into the studio to record a rock album and none of them really knew how to play their instruments. It's actually quite amazing how something great can come out of chaos but they pulled it off. Check out their song called "Firecracker, Firecracker" to get an idea of what it sounds like. I, too, support Jon's endeavor into jazz even though he has no experience at all playing an instrument. Now I'm off to the Google so I can find somewhere to buy it!
