When the first segments were released, I was longing for some more heartfelt moments with them… finally, this clip is it. If anyone wants to get to know Barbra’s mind, I would recommend the audio version of her memoir - it’s actually a breeze and a joy to listen to. I have to say, I'm Jewish and gay, and grew up with Barbra but never saw Funny Girl until this past week. Her book is the most entertaining and insightful, inspirational and truthful autobiography I've ever encountered. I completed the audible version and can't recommend it more. I say Barbra Steisand is a treasure of truth and I am grateful for her devotion to all she loves. Thank you Barbra! And than you to your husband Jim.

I love that Ms. Streisand’s favorite smells are babies and roses. The Barbra’s Baby Rose story is wonderful. And the fact that she sneaks oranges is so funny. It’s like she’s sneaking an orange and not telling her esophagus. That is a great sense of humor right there. Her appreciation for the beauty in life is palpable. Barbra Streisand is pure magic.

Just finished her book. All of it. It confirmed all that I had hoped it would about Barbra Streisand and straitened out the many unbelievable untruths that have been written. about her and Jason. Seeing Jason for the first time recently in a you tube clip. What a credit to you he is. As a very young man, I first saw Barbra at our local cinema in the film Funny Girl having no idea who she was. I was and still am, smitten. Since then, her voice and acting has never failed to give me huge pleasure.

Did anyone else notice that he only asked 12 questions not 15. The most glaring omission was “What happens when we die?” I wonder if Barbara got to edit out questions she didn’t want to answer? Hmmm. Finally, the answers that Barbara did give reminded me a lot of the way Henry Winkler answered the questionnaire by adding so much back story to many answers.

However, when they are standalone comparisons, based on flavor, oranges are the hands down winners. Barbra is just a beautiful miracle of human nature. A work of art of talent, intelligence and resilience. I wish everyone knew how amazing she is. The doors she opened for singularity, individuality, different beauty standards, women, raw talent… These are the things that put her on the map when she was barely 19 years old. Colbert is ok but boy if I had Barbra for an interview would I ask her better things than who’s the best kisser and boy would I not make fun of her when she answers so eloquently to what animal scares her the most.

I would diplomatically remind her how she made a self degrading joke about her work on Meet the Fockers once then after I had also reminded her that her favorite of her films seemed to be dramas (Funny Girl, A Star is Born, The Way We Were, Yentl and The Prince of Tides), I would tell her that I think her comedic talents are unparalleled as featured in Funny Girl Whats Up Doc, The Owl…,For Pete’s Sake and The Main Event and how I wished there were more of that Barbra on film. After that long introduction i would ask her what she preferred drama or comedy and ask her what she thought of AI and the idea of her being in movies generated by AI since she cloned her dog Sammie. I would also want to know why she never speaks of The Guilt Trip. (Not a great film but she’s not known to shy away from the truth). I would ask her if she regrets it? I would also inquire how she felt about starring in a great film in her 80’s where she plays a Grand Mother whose sisters and children and grandchildren reunite for a summer holiday for her birthday starring Cher, Madonna, Ariana, Mariah, Beyonce (the adopted daughter) and Taylor Swift if Scorcese were to direct. I would also want to ask her with all due respect how she became so wealthy by singing other people’s songs (she wouldn’t explain no doubt). My list is endless.

I would diplomatically remind her how she made a self degrading joke about her work on Meet the Fockers once and after I had reminded her that her favorite of her films seemed to be dramas (Funny Girl, A Star is Born, The Way We Were, Yentl and The Prince of Tides.) I would tell her that I think her comedic talents were unparalleled as featured in Funny Girl Whats Up Doc, The Owl…,For Pete’s Sake and The Main Event and how I wished there were more of that Barbra on film. After that long introduction I would ask her what she preferred drama or comedy and ask her what she thought of AI and the idea of her being in movies generated by AI since she cloned her dog Sammie. I would also inquire why she never speaks of The Guilt Trip. (Not a great film but she’s not known to shy away from the truth). Does she regret it? I would then want to know if she would care to star in a great film in her 80’s where she plays a Grand Mother whose sisters and children and grandchildren reunite for a summer holiday for her birthday starring Cher, Madonna, Ariana, Mariah, Beyonce (the adopted daughter) and Taylor Swift if Scorcese were to direct. I would ask her also with all due respect how she became so wealthy by singing other people’s songs (she wouldn’t explain no doubt). My list is endless.

Here at the Portland International Rose Test Garden there is a whole section of the Barbara Streisand rose. It is fabulous, one day I hope to find one of the rose bushes to plant.
