You can bet that Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL), Gov. Greg Abbott (TX), The NRA are all standing by with the ears covered (Like Nicolas Cruz) and blindfolded as well, so they don't have to hear any of this and can just brush off these mass shootings in the schools of their states so it can all "blow over" and they be about their merry way....continuing to divide, repress, discriminate against minorities or anyone who has an ideology outside of their own. And of course collect the donor money towards their next election.

Peter Wang was a hero that day. He opened the door and held it open for children to run through and sacrificed himself in the process. He should be honored and remembered always. His wounds are absolutely devastating. On August 27th it will be exactly 10 years since I lost a loved one to murder by 5 gunshots. (RIP James Nathan Groat.) It’s truly horrifying what happens to the human body when shot. My heart hurts so much for all of these families. 💔

Was a first thought, as well, and probably by many?! It does take a special kind of person to be able to stomach + perform this type of work. Hard to even wrap around our layman heads. Can't even imagine that your child is gone and you can't even see them 1 last time because of how unspeakable to us their injuries are with these damn assault rifles! So much sadness and grief that will last for life for everyone that knew + loved any of the victims, for all Schools and other shootings that an AR style is involved. But to be a parent, their pain and sorrow is unfathomable and then they have to try to sit through it whenever there is a trial. Just so heartbreaking. 😭💔 RIP to ALL victims, especially children, because all students are still basically children! All parents, even to adults, will always refer to them as their child or baby. 🕊️

Peter was a hero. Posthumously accepted into West Point because of his honor and bravery. There is no thanks enough that can be given for such a sacrifice. I hope his family can achieve what seems impossible and find some semblance of peace. I think reports state that Peter held a door open for others to escape and was then unable to escape himself. Cruz tried to hit the escaping students through a window. Maybe Cruz then just decided to destroy Peter Wang in an additional fit of rage. The poor young man was honoured by the army. He was an ROTC and was wearing his uniform when he gave his life for others.
@gfx2943
@gfx2943 2 жыл бұрын
He was likely targeting him in that moment as an outlet of frustration due to the fact that he helped a lot of people escape. All the more reason to praise Wang as a Hero, as he upset Cruz that much over his own personal failure to kill more people. Or that he was Asian. I'll bet Cruz never even knew Wang was in ROTC like he was.

This young MAN and a Solider perished while holding a door open and covering fellow students that were trying to exit and escape the killer. Yes he was shot approximately 12 times while holding the door. Those 12 bullets COULD have been put into 12 other kids that would have died . This young man went into a mindset of putting others safety before his own safety and life. “ No man hath greater HONOR the he that lays HIS LIFE down for a fellow man “ Peter posthumously received as an Army ROTC Cadet the “ Medal of Heroism “ what is in comparison to an active military solider the CMH or “ Congressional Medal of Honor. “ He also posthumously received a full acceptance into West Point Military Academy which was his life long goal to be accepted into. He received a military funeral with MANY high ranking Brass and enlisted and cadet personnel present that day. It’s sad that this young man’s life was cut very short when he wanted a future in West Point and to graduate from the most prestigious military academy in the country and become an officer and a leader and to command soldiers whether in peace time or in combat abroad . Yet God had other plans for this brave young man and solider. Another place at another time. It was there that moment that horrific day at that school under those combat conditions and saving those fellow students lives that he was to do what he felt was his job his command his mission. He did it WITHOUT a second thought or fear and most of all with the utmost bravery found in only a very few men who do it WILLINGLY . He was a leader , not a follower. He needed no orders or commands to do what he did. He went above and beyond the call of duty that day without any weapons in his hands. He carried nothing with him or on him that day but his bravery and honor. As a solider myself , I stand and salute you Peter Wang. You as a brother in arms have my complete and utmost respect ✊ I wish I could have served under your command one day.

He’s part of our society.. you wanna put all the blame on the shooter but not on our support systems that absolutely failed this kid. Mental health services, Law enforcement, the School, Nobody showed Nikolas that they cared for him which definitely is a factor in why he did what he did. Not trying to condone what he did of course, but if we could have only just have empathy for these people when they were showing warning signs, like getting into fights at school, making threats, and stop labeling them as troubled or crazy, and adding to this lifetime of loneliness and rejection they feel, and make our support systems better then they are now, then we can prevent these types of perpetrators from ever getting to a point where they have to go in a murder spree.

Cruz will pay a high price for his actions, but this tragedy never should have happened. So many warning signs and red flags that were either ignored or passed on to someone or somewhere else. Transferred schools 6 times in a 3 year period. Many people knew there was something wrong with him. Even speculation prior to the incident that he would be the next school shooter. The FBI tip line was called on January 5 2018 and told he had an AR-15, media comments and other things that I can’t recall at this time. The tip was not forwarded to any law enforcement in Parkland. They released it on February 16, too little too late. He was pretty much yelling for help. He stopped short of walking into one of the councillors that failed him office with his gun, stating I am going to go kill a lot of people. 45 complaints to law enforcement in a 9 year period. Cruz will never get out of prison. Death sentence or life without parole. There needs to be much more accountability for what happened.

And anyone who'd say "well what about a little emotion?", I'm sure letting a little show will just open the gates. It's nothing personal. I don't know in what order they were made, but he was obviously trying to shield his face by the way his arm and elbow was shattered. All we know for sure is that the last time he definitely felt pain and terror were the shots to his head. The woman giving the autopsy report said the only lethal shots were to his head. Honestly...as a healthcare provider I feel like the death penalty is too easy...he gets put to sleep and is dead within 6 to 10 minutes after meds go in. Not enough. Life sentence is another 60 or 70 years of reliving the horrors he committed in his head, being despised and targeted by other ruthless individuals, never again getting shown preferential treatment, watching each and every loved one you have grow old and die, living locked away from society like an animal in a kennel with no hope of ever being let out...I am a forgiving person but for that type of body count death isn't enough. If you kill one person you could get death penalty and he killed 17. He suffers no differently than someone who killed 1. Life without chance of parole doesn't grant mercy, it extends his sentence. Each of us will die. The only difference is he would know when and be kept alive and safe until that time. With life sentence he would likely live his entire life in fear of his surroundings and with very little movement. Life sentence is more appropriate for him. Death row means a 10 to 20 year sentence and a peaceful passing. Life is 60 to 70 years of hell on earth.

@@kjh6903 Sentencing him to death would not have stopped another shooting. One of the jurors that voted for life is a mental health Dr. She understood perfectly. The anger is misplaced at the jury. The anger should be directed at the failures. FBI failed. Law enforcement failed. Medical professionals failed. School security failed. Fix those problems to prevent anything. Nik will pay a very high price for all of those who failed. Will probably cost him his life. Prison has their own justice system.

The people in the gallery aren't looking at the autopsy photos whilst the Doctor is testifying. Nothing will happen to Cruz in prison. There are many mass shooters in prison and they're not harmed at all. He will be in his own cell 23 hours a day and then he will be isolated outside for the remaining hour for exercise or whatever he chooses.

It’s completely shocking and tragic that this young man suffered such catastrophic injuries. The fact that he sacrificed himself by allowing others to escape to safety is truly heroic, a person who deserves every bit of honour and respect he gets. It must be heart wrenching for his family to listen to this medical professional describing the horrific injuries. RIP to all the victims, and sincere condolences and prayers for their families and loved ones 🙏🙏. I truly hope that Nikolas Cruz experiences the most devastating and terrifying treatment while in prison, and trust that the hardened criminals in there, torture him for the rest of his miserable life.

The amount of damage.....the amount of cold hearted pure evil....I struggle to empathize with Cruz. If you needed a hug or needed a friend or needed a support system there's always options! Hurt people don't have to hurt people. Break the cycle! This was awful beyond words! Finding out all he did before during and after....he didn't do it cuz he was hurt he did it because somethings very wrong in his head. Now Uvalde? These are children! Babies! Innocent lives....I don't know what to say. I'm really disgusted that this is still happening 4 years after parkland! We are shitting on all of these innocent children's lives so nra and their people can have their weapons of mass destruction! No laws have been changed ! Nothings been learned. My heart and soul ache for both parkland and uvalde parents and victims. We owe all of these children and future children so much much.

There are strict gun laws all over the US and many of those states have some of the highest rates of gun violence and death. If someone wants to commit this type of act, they will find the weapon necessary. No amount of laws will change a criminal because they don't follow the law.
@christianjward
@christianjward 2 жыл бұрын
Of course there's something wrong with his head, you're right with that, but saying "if you needed a hug or needed a friend there's always options" is quite frankly incredibly naive. What I find so bizarre in cases like this is that people are so quick to just sum it up as someone being either good or bad. It is clearly not normal to have done what Cruz did. How about as a society we stop and examine what's happening with these people mentally, and why. It's more comfortable for society to just brand someone as evil and sentence them to death rather than trying to fix the parts of society that contribute to someone committing such a terrible act. One person reacts differently to trauma compared to another depending on their makeup. The sad reality to all this is society did play a role in what happened - it's like a perfect storm where all the ingredients come together in one person. Cruz was not born a killer, he became one through a complex set of causal factors such as his life experiences, upbringing, and the fact that his brain (like yours and mine) is unique and responds differently compared to another person. That doesn't make him evil, despite the fact that he committed such a terrible act. Until we all start to do things to change society, end the toxic culture within schools that lead to bullying, look after children better when they have parents who abuse them and have drug addictions, tragedies like this will happen again and again and again. No amount of putting perpetrators to death will change that.

People wanna put all the blame on the shooter but not on our support systems that absolutely failed this kid.

With all the gun laws that are already in effect, plus the decade-long assault weapons ban that had *ZERO* effect on anything, what "new gun law" would have prevented Cruz from murdering these innocent kids?? And before throwing around the term "weapons of mass destruction" you should educate yourself a little on the definition: "a chemical, biological or radioactive weapon capable of causing widespread death and destruction".😉
@ukmedicfrcs
@ukmedicfrcs 2 жыл бұрын
@@paulfrehley7352 I'm not in favour of banning firearms but to answer your questions. Age restrictions can be very useful. More than half of the mass shooters/school shooters in the last 10 years (I believe ) purchased their firearms legally. Longer waiting periods may have changed the outcome especially in the case of Uvalde shooter. Parents being held legally responsible for providing guns to their children when there are obvious red flags can also be a deterrent. We haven't had a mass shooting in the UK since 1996 so the laws do work.

We need stronger gun laws , no one should be able to buy an AR-15 with modifications and thousands of rounds online, we need better policing of individuals like this who made public posts about murdering people years before they did it, we need better mental health treatments,. That all happens when the jury sees the aftermath of what is being allowed to happen in America.
