Something about the lower quality cameras and narrators of the 90s made these so interesting. These HD cameras and news reporter true crime shows are just not the same.

There is certainly something to be said for the different visual quality of actual film and Analogue sound, rather than digital audio/visual. I've noticed this with music, as well. That's one of the reasons the old fashioned LPs came back into fashion, about a decade back. A lot of people began to realize that the CD/mp3 format did not always provide the highest quality sound reproduction. Sometimes, older techniques can be better.

@@stargo2931 I'm no expert, but, from what I've seen, alcohol and drugs change people and make them uncontrolled, unpredictable, mean and make bad decisions. It brings out the primitive and takes away a lot of the ability to think or consider anyone else. I don't trust drunks or druggies and I don't have any sympathy with them. They choose to take drink or drugs. I'm glad you did the right thing with your son. We all have some responsibity for our children, although, at the end of the day, they make their own choices through teenage and adult-hood. It sounds like he must have listened to you, at least when he's going to visit you, but that may be a start, hopefully. Good luck.

What I've noticed time and again is that since Reagan started attacking "Welfare Queens" and his "Trickle Down Economics" which no other Country in the World has used because it doesn't work, caused a recession that raised Taxes to clean up the mess then the Rethuglicans bullying Clinton into the Welfare reforms, then getting a budget Surplus that should have been reinvested into poor, lower middle class Community's to lift them out of poverty, but wasn't because George W Bush decided to starve the Federal Government Institutions, a War in Afghanistan that Putin tricked him into taking over, then Iraq and passing Reagan's "Trickle Down Economics" again! And then the Economic Crisis and Banks Crash that Obama had to try and clean up, with Rethuglican Obstruction that reduced the American Rescue Plan to a much smaller scale than required but coupled with raising the Taxes of the Millionaires, Billionaires and Corporations started Economic Growth for something like 78 months that Trump rode on the back of until he passed "Trickle Down Economics" for the Third Time! And now Biden's trying to sort the mess out again after a once in a Century Pandemic and the Rethuglicans are Obstructing everything again, but he passed the Covid Rescue Plan, passed the Child Tax Credits (Which Joe Manchin managed to put a stop to it being resigned for the next 10 years by blocking the Build Back Better Bill) BBB has a lot of things in it that will deal with the causes of Crime, instead of punishment for Crime and I for one am sick of the crap that the Rethuglicans put us all through, they have no common sense policy's that will help ordinary people and make their lives better, just Culture War 🐂💩 Fear Mongering, Lies and oppression topped off with undemocratic Legislation that makes it harder to vote, because as according to the Arizona GQP Attorneys in a Lawsuit at the Supreme Court said about voting rights "Politics is a zero sum game for us and we need to Suppress the number of people who are able to vote, to give us an advantage against the Democrats Popular Policy's " and that tells everyone everything they need to know about the Rethuglicans, they can't win without cheating, because people don't want to vote for someone who doesn't do anything for them and now we have another War because Trump weaken Ukraine with his corruption and attacks on Europe, our Allies and NATO and Putin's gone into Ukraine because he thought we were to divided and distracted

Cold Cases are very hard to solve as the suspects get older and peoples memories aren't always as good as they used to be as people get older. I would love to be an artist for the law enforcement and re create someone's face on paper. I restored my sisters old prom photo with a young man who she can not track down in Ireland ... she remembered he was a nice kind guy. My hat's off to the forensic work that these detectives do. but it's too bad that the judicial system don't do much with the person after they are caught. I mean a death sentence is more or less just life in prison and some of these people really do deserve the death penalty.

Although it's a learning experience to watch these stories , I'm saddened so many people had to hurt , suffer and die, so that detectives would have experience, that society would realize we're not safe, and that every situation is not the same, some people run off with lovers and some didn't even get chance to run. There should be no statute of limitations on any crime. Yes, some crimes are far more severe than others. But if people are allowed to get away with things because "too much time has passed", it only encourages criminal behaviour, especially petty criminal behaviour where the statute is of a short duration. All crime should be able to be punished when it is discovered who the perpetrator is.

Case 1: John Famalaro was sentenced to death in 1994. This POS is still on death row in California, supported with food, bed, medical attention, legal rights , etc etc all the taxpayers expense. My Q: How much consideration did he give his lovely young victim Denise ? Her parents have never recovered from the brutal death of their child who was raped. murdered and kept frozen for 3 years. Case 3: Ward was sentenced to death in 1989. In 2010, his sentenced was changed to life. [I think that this episode forgot to mention that Nikia was also 5 motnhs pregnant - so Ward should have been charged with 2 murders]

The woman who called police when she saw a truck on the guy’s property is an angel, and deserves praise for helping bring an end to a killer. I hope that all murderers are caught, and put to death. That being said, she wouldn’t be someone I would want anyone to meet at a swap meet or anywhere for the fact that she had no reason to call the police other than she wondered if the home owner was breaking laws by having the truck there. I wouldn’t want to invite someone to my house then have them call the law because my grass is too high, or I have an old rusty truck there that isn’t being used, or even call the law cause I have one too many dogs. Invite her to your house to sale her paint, and end up with a dog being put to sleep, a truck towed, and fines for unkept grass.

The killer of Denise Huber had three years to get rid of her body, but he kept it in a stolen U-Haul truck in his yard. I know that murderers sometimes like to take trophies from their victims but with the exception of the likes of Jeffrey Dahmer, I never heard of anyone keeping the entire victim's body as a trophy. Lt. Joe Kenda (the Homicide Hunter) said, "Most criminals are rather stupid and we're glad they are because if they were smarter, we wouldn't be able to catch as many of them." So besides being evil, John Pamalero was bone stupid. Kudos to the woman who came to buy paint and stayed to help catch a killer! Pamalero was sentenced to death and this program said he was still waiting on death row, but this program is many years old. Does anyone know if he has been executed yet?
@MariaPetrescu
@MariaPetrescu Жыл бұрын
From an article published in 2016: "Now 59, Famalaro is awaiting the fulfillment of his sentence in San Quentin State Prison, but like other death row inmates in California, it’s an open question whether the day of his execution will ever arrive. Although the California Supreme Court upheld Famalaro’s sentence in 2011, another appeal is pending, and it could take years to resolve. But even if Famalaro’s appeals concluded tomorrow, his punishment would still have to wait because California has no approved method to execute inmates. Capital punishment has essentially been on hold since 2006 because of a judge’s ruling that the three-drug lethal injection used at the time could cause inhumane suffering. “He’ll die of old age in the prison, I believe, before he gets the death penalty,” Dennis said. “And we’ll probably die before he does,” Ione added. The couple have been married 52 years. Dennis is now 77 and Ione is 73."

I could not be a Homicide Detective and have to look at a murder victims dead body cause I don't have the stomach for it and it would cause me to have nightmares. I imagine that law enforcement must have to take special classes to prepare their minds for such images and be able to still perform their job effectively. It takes a special kind of person to do these types of jobs, and I have much respect for such ppl. I could do fingerprints and be an expert in that field however or other forensic work. I just couldn't deal with having to look at mangled dead bodies and I know I'd end up vomiting and crying, especially involving women and children.

Isn't that kind of thinking a little contradictory? The whole idea of "legal" murder is pretty fucked up to me. I don't always disagree with the death penalty in certain extreme cases, but you sound like you want to start handing out death sentences like cops giving people speeding tickets. Considering not all murder cases are cut and dry, I'm very happy you're not in charge. Many innocent people have been put to death after being wrongfully convicted. There's way more to this subject than it sounds like you realize.
