My name is Des Carnell and my family owned the Playroom from construction in 1966 to sale in 1986. From 1980 to 1986 I videotaped every major Aus and OS band with an in house 3 camera crew from our own video studio. This Cold Chisel video was one track of a full concert recorded by us and a copy was given to every band in return for us being allowed to play the concert in our video lounge nightly. How it found its way here I dont Know but enjoy!!

I, for one say a big thank you!

Do you still own this full concert? You should contact Chisel about releasing it
@ajo30852 жыл бұрын
@@wildthing3241 Cold Chisel included a lot of bonus material when they released their remastered album series quite a few years back. This song and Wild Colonial Boy from the Playroom (plus Taipan from An Evening With The Circus Animals & Houndog from Germany '82) were included as a bonus DVD with the Circus Animals set so based on Des's comment and the bands (slow) progress getting their bootleg series out, hopefully one day we will all be able to enjoy the full show.

1982. What a different world it was. Saw them live twice and bought every album, mostly on cassette. Plenty of driving done then. Loved the way they evolved. An embarrassment of riches in that band honed by hundreds of shows.

wow ...they had to work hard for that one ! Mossys guitar cuts out ....mucks with his amp and lead...then his pedals ....jimmy looked concerned as don held it together ,.,,,then jimmy went flat a few times ..but why not ? What a hard tune to sing ,,, what a great song by moss ! Has some 60s r&B elements ...i loved it ,

One of my favourite CHISEL songs. Barnes and MOSS vocals. This is even better than the version on Circus Animals.

Aside from the different words, it's the same way they did the vocals on Circus Animals with Mossy singing the same harmony parts on the album he sings here??

buzzachisel I'd say it's because Barnes is really, really pissed hence the made up lyrics

@@Aaron-uf3sl When, in those days, was he not? :) You may be right, though.
@andrewpower69343 жыл бұрын
@@Aaron-uf3sl these early versions of songs often had different lyrics. One example is "Four Walls", which was a song about loneliness, not prison. "Four Walls, Washbasin, Double Bed". Look closely, Mossy is singing the same when he does Vocals.
@ajo30852 жыл бұрын
@@Aaron-uf3sl Yeah, nothing to do with Barnesy being pissed. Chisel often played works in progress live to work them out before going into the studio. Within the Chisel bootleg community there's plenty of examples of early versions of songs being played prior to them going into the studio to record them.
