I think that's because actual Reagan was kind of adorable. I mean, it was a very intentionally crafted public persona, but Hartman didn't miss it.

@retroguy94942 жыл бұрын
@@chet6286 Actually dude, it was his FIRST. He wore a stroller coat with striped trousers and a waistcoat. It was the very last time a president opted for formal wear for his inauguration. His second was actually held twice. Once just a swearing in at the White House because January 20th was a Sunday. The following day they had the more formal ceremony but due to the bitter cold it was moved to the Capitol rotunda. He wore a regular 2 piece business suit on both days.

Nancy Reagon is portrayed like a witch in this scene.
@arcanondrum65432 жыл бұрын
Right? It's pretty silly when actually, Nancy was Trailer Trash. The skank very clearly understood that she was on Press Camera, trying out dresses for Reagan's Campaign when she kept exclaiming that she "didn't have any money". So, the money flowed in, the favors from the White House soon rolled out and Nancy Reagan even had enough cash to hold many dinner parties at the White House (the first family, regardless of whom, must pay for their own food). Well, I'm no fan of the Queen of England but Nancy fancied herself quite the equal to the Queen but the Queen understands Trailer Trash and looked askance at Nancy until Nancy lowered her dinner guest expectations (more of the "favors" crowd, they're very practiced at being nice for brief periods). State Affairs continue for a President, however and the true hero of the Cold War came to town (Reagan's Staff had to find Wall that was still standing for Reagan's " Tear Down This Wall " Speech, I remember it well, Glasnost was very much in the News when I was in my early 20's). Anywho, if Gorbachev is a great man (and he is) it often means that behind him is a great woman and Raisa Gorbachev was indeed, lovely both inside and out. Raisa was very gracious with Nancy Reagan but Trailer Trash would have none of it. Do the planet a favor and find out who Pilot Barry Seal was ultimately working for. Then compare that to Trailer Trash and hubby making " Just Say 'No' " commercials. It will help you and others understand why people who knew Reagan well BUT had morality, did not like Reagan nor Nancy. I can say that the United States would have been better off with Ed Muskie as President but he, like Gary Hart, like Albert Gore, like Howard Dean AND like Bernie Sanders seem to be ignored or sabotaged by the corporate owned media, meanwhile Mr. _"The media ignores me but that's okay"_ was on EVERY Corporate owned Network, EVERY Day. ....say, do YOU think it is a coincidence that Reagan, Dubya and Trump all gave massive Tax Cuts to Corporations and Billionaires AND that the Judges they appointed keep favoring corporations? That sure would be a strange coincidence all 3 times when each of those 3 were very corrupt BUT *on TV for their campaign every day, all you kept hearing about was "their fans"....*
