Just found you today. Great channel. I'm Italian (my paternal grandparents are from Bisceglie and maternal, Naples) born and raised in Brooklyn now living in Northern Colorado. I thought your comment about asking a bakery if they use hydrogenated oil or real butter is funny. I can imagine the look on the faces of the folks behind the counter at my favorite pastry shop in Brooklyn! That would be priceless. I'll try that next trip home!

I think it depends on the bakery & neighborhood. Health conscious New Yorkers can ask lots of questions. Fyi I'm in Brooklyn.

@@bewildwoman6577 I've eaten very healthy MANY years but indulge when visiting family in Brooklyn. The ingredients that go into making true Italian pastry is absolutely awful and hideous.

@@Zebrajellyfishphoto I hear you... and there are a few modern makeovers with better ingredients that are upleveling tradition. You might want to check them out next time your back for a visit 🥰

seed oils ALL become deranged when you heat them, causing systemic inflammation in the body, this is just fact, it would behoove everyone to avoid them at all cost, especially a chronic daily or even weekly intake.... if you're using the oil without heating it (not cooking with it).... and it was properly extracted, then its usually fine.

You can come to Spain to see how we can extract extra virgin oil with mechanical processes, only by mechanical processes, because it is possible.

To save you all from this video cold pressed and expeller-pressed are the only two you should look for in the supermarket. He says that in the beginning of 7 minutes

Hi Marcus, thanks for the information.. just wanted to clarify on the classification, in my country when pressing mustard, they firstly roast the actual seeds and then they press it... however they do not use the leftover pulp.. thats just feed for animals. So concluding, it is expeller-pressed and cannot be classified as cold pressed ?
@earlysda11 ай бұрын
Like he said, it depends on how hot it got during the process.

Hi Marcus, We do use cold pressed olive oil for salad topping, raw or baking. Most of the individuals, restaurants or hotels use oils such as canola, soybean, sunflower, and ground nut for deep frying. But how we as a consumer [individual, or business ] can use other cold pressed oil over refined oil? Even if we do use, especially business owner, won't they economically expensive for us?

Thank you for the video. I'm trying to make my own coconut moisturizer with expeller pressed and it's not working out like the videos I'm using. Nobody explains to make sure to use cold pressed. Now I know. Is there any way to firm up the expeller pressed to the consistency of cold for moisturizer? I hate to waste the jar I have. Thanks.
