What an emotional song that just rips your heart out of your chest wow. Met Scooter May of 2023 and told him how Year of the Spider came out the same year I lost my Mother and it that album helped heal my pain. He hugged me and said sorry man. What a humble guy. ....wow, same thing my mother died same year I found year of the spider, the oceans of tears I cried to that album saved me from myself during that time...crazy how someone else went through something so similar to me, hang in there, time don't heal all the pain but there was at least a time where our mothers lived right beside us and loved us with all their hearts and most likely still do somewhere special in our afterwards...🤘

@@davidm.schreckii1426 Crazy how the parallels of life do that. Meeting someone you never met, and here we are sharing the same story. You’re right time doesn’t heal the pain but I learned to cherish the time I had with her. To see all the sacrifices now and not understanding them so much then makes me realize the amazing woman she is. Year of the Spider was therapy. I still remember driving around in my car listening to each song and feeling every word. I met Scooter in September 2023 during a VIP meet and greet and to tell him that exact story 20 years almost to the day was surreal but you could see he truly cared and I tag named him for saying what so many of could not. I hope you’re well now my brother and to know someone else experienced and feels what I feel all these years later makes this all come full circle man

This song hit hard.... RIP my handsome little boy. Time will never heal this pain. UPDATE 4 YEARS LATER: I found this video originally during one of the darkest moments in my life. I had turned into a serious alcoholic at the time. I am now 100% sober. I have PTSD from everything. He was my youngest son. He would have been turning 11 years old this year….. this song helped me get through getting sober. The pain I felt and still do is very deep. Nothing prepares you for losing a child. It’s odd because burying a parent is a different feeling. But a child is so much more worse. I had a complete and utter mental breakdown when it happened. I’ve gotten better since then. Thank you to those whom sent kind words. Please remember if you are in a dark place reach out to someone and ask for help. Don’t turn to alcohol and drugs to make the pain go away. It doesn’t work and never will. Take one day at a time and keep pushing forward no matter what. 🖤

I remember getting the 13 ways to bleed onstage album from the radio station here in Knoxville TN and I've stuck with this band ever since. Cold is one of the best bands that doesn't get near the love they should. They have my respect.

The way I view it, every word a person speaks, every loving phrase and every lie, is still gently ringing through the air and the breath they used to speak has brought someone or something else life for one more glowing moment. Every time someone repeats a memory of them or speaks kindly of them, that adds another echo. So it's not that the person is gone, there is a vacuum but really it just breathed out and impacted the world in so many wonderful ways that I have a hard time feeling sadness over pride and joy in what that person did.
