What an emotional song that just rips your heart out of your chest wow. Met Scooter May of 2023 and told him how Year of the Spider came out the same year I lost my Mother and it that album helped heal my pain. He hugged me and said sorry man. What a humble guy. One man writes the words so many can’t say but we feel so deeply

I'm sorry for the loss of your mom. I'm seeing my dad, go through the loss of his mother two weeks ago. Scooter has been there, you can tell from his vocals and how he offered instant comfort in his words. I hope you're doing well.

....wow, same thing my mother died same year I found year of the spider, the oceans of tears I cried to that album saved me from myself during that time...crazy how someone else went through something so similar to me, hang in there, time don't heal all the pain but there was at least a time where our mothers lived right beside us and loved us with all their hearts and most likely still do somewhere special in our afterwards...🤘

@@davidm.schreckii1426 Crazy how the parallels of life do that. Meeting someone you never met, and here we are sharing the same story. You’re right time doesn’t heal the pain but I learned to cherish the time I had with her. To see all the sacrifices now and not understanding them so much then makes me realize the amazing woman she is. Year of the Spider was therapy. I still remember driving around in my car listening to each song and feeling every word. I met Scooter in September 2023 during a VIP meet and greet and to tell him that exact story 20 years almost to the day was surreal but you could see he truly cared and I tag named him for saying what so many of could not. I hope you’re well now my brother and to know someone else experienced and feels what I feel all these years later makes this all come full circle man

🥲 once I said to myself just to help that my mom died because her love was so strong she couldn't give it to everyone all at once unless God were to take her, my Mother died too in year 2002 it was my car accident, I was the driver and this band kept me alive those years, loosing a Mother is truly a different kind of pain especially when you have had years with her, I am now 36 and just lost my Father and again this singer Scooter Ward always, always, sings in my heart.

Yes indeed they have acquired many great metal bands over the years of a good array of heavier genres. My comment was reflective more on the fact they started as a primarily death and black metal label. Cold was always a little more from the Numetal school in the early days and was a surprise to me to see them on this specific label.

I've followed you over the years, and throughout my own depression and addiction to opioids and benzodiazepines, your music felt like home to me. I related all these years. I've been clean 3 years today, and I'm glad to see you're still doing the same. I also found my faith in the Lord, and came back home to my roots in faith. Keep it up man, keep rocking. Keep kickin ass. And don't give up. Also, I LOVE this song I was in jail the first time I heard it. And I went 2 years only hearing it once..downloaded it the day I got home. 2/14/22. This has to be one of the strongest emotional videos I’ve seen put with a song that has unmatched lyrics. Beautifully written song really pulls on the emotions that we carry for our children.

This song hit hard.... RIP my handsome little boy. Time will never heal this pain. UPDATE 4 YEARS LATER: I found this video originally during one of the darkest moments in my life. I had turned into a serious alcoholic at the time. I am now 100% sober. I have PTSD from everything. He was my youngest son. He would have been turning 11 years old this year….. this song helped me get through getting sober. The pain I felt and still do is very deep. Nothing prepares you for losing a child. It’s odd because burying a parent is a different feeling. But a child is so much more worse. I had a complete and utter mental breakdown when it happened. I’ve gotten better since then. Thank you to those whom sent kind words. Please remember if you are in a dark place reach out to someone and ask for help. Don’t turn to alcohol and drugs to make the pain go away. It doesn’t work and never will. Take one day at a time and keep pushing forward no matter what. 🖤

This is why music has a voice. It speaks to so many in so many circumstances globally across decades. Thanks. It explained it all for me using my favorite artistic medium of music that can reach your heart. Such a responsibly for music artists but Cold takes this on and nails it.

*Quiet Now* On the day you went away from me I remember all the little things When you held my hand and said I'll be okay I can still feel you in everything Every movie, every song they play, every time I hear your name I pray for rain It's a little too quiet now And it's harder everyday I'll stand in the storm till the world is gone to keep you in my dreams It's a little too quiet now And no time can heal this pain I'll stand up to god like I'm superman to keep you close to me It's a little too quiet I can still feel you in everything Every night brings back the memories When I close my eyes you wave goodbye to me It's a little too quiet now And it's harder everyday I'll stand in the storm till the world is gone to keep you in my dreams It's a little too quiet now And no time can heal this pain I'll stand up to god like I'm superman to keep you close to me It's a little too quiet now It's a little too quiet now And it's harder everyday I'll stand in the storm till the world is gone to keep you in my dreams It's a little too quiet now And no time can heal this pain I'll stand up to god like I'm superman to keep you close to me It's a little too quiet It's a little too quiet now

The way I view it, every word a person speaks, every loving phrase and every lie, is still gently ringing through the air and the breath they used to speak has brought someone or something else life for one more glowing moment. Every time someone repeats a memory of them or speaks kindly of them, that adds another echo. So it's not that the person is gone, there is a vacuum but really it just breathed out and impacted the world in so many wonderful ways that I have a hard time feeling sadness over pride and joy in what that person did.
