I'm STILL drinking this Citrus Cold Tea nightly. and for the FIRST TIME IN YEARS, I went into the Midwest when they had those major blizzards in March (2019) and DID NOT GET SICK. I normally end up at some urgent care for bronchitis or worse. I also called ahead to my family and told them the ingredients to have on hand when I arrived. Made my "medicine" and stayed healthy. I have been recommending your site to my friends for over a year now. If for no other reason than this cough syrup. I am a believer. I pop a Green Tea bag in my cup too.

Excited to try this!!! The tea I like to make is a garlic, honey, lemon, and orange combo. I boil 2 cloves of crushed garlic, add in the lemon and orange, peels and juices; Bring it to a boil and add honey. It may smell up the house but it makes me feel so much better when I'm sick w/ a cold!

this was the best cold remedy ever. My children suffer with asthma so they cough constantly when they get a cold. Nothing seems to help them until I tried this cold remedy. It actually relieved them of their hacking cough and sooth their chest. The best part of it they enjoyed the citrus taste. So they learned to make it themselves and they're nine and ten years old. thank you.

I made this for my FIL. I adjusted your recipe slightly. After thinly slicing the citrus fruit, I cut them into quarters. I only added 2 teaspoons of turmeric, and lastly added 1/4 cup more honey. This was soooo good. Since my FIL has been sick for the last two days, I'm going to make a cup for myself to boost my immune system up and to get some rest tonight. Thank you! I will pass this along.

I tried this recipe just this past weekend after having coughed for about 2 months. The medicine given to me by my doctor didn't take away the post nasal drip which only exacerbated my cough, especially at night. I need to say that I altered it by putting everything into the blender. Yes, rinds and all. All you should know is that Friday night was cough free! Saturday night was cough free as well. I drink a lot of water during the day so my phlegm was clear but thick and I needed to get rid of it! Mine is in a mason jar in the refrigerator and I add a nice helping teaspoon to my tea. Now if I can just get my husband from stealing it from me when he thinks I am not looking!

I love this kind of thing. I've been making "Mother" if you drink it after you've been around someone whose sick/boyfriend/parent/sibling/coworker ect. You won't get sick. Or if it's in the beginning of you being sick it will totally reduce your symptoms and the length of the sickness. Recipe: 3/4 cup hot water 1 tbsp. BRAGGS organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother - most important thing!) And 1 tbsp. Organic local honey. :) the local honey will take the antibodies of your region and will really help fight off anything. Mix well and drink! I drink it every week or so just incase. :)

I use 1 tsp. tumeric, the juice of 1 fresh lemon, 1 tsp. of honey, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in a cup of hot water. I drink this for my arthritic knee pain. It works to relieve most of the pain and, when taken at night, gives me a great night of restful, pain free sleep. As an older woman, who needs to get up to pee several times a night, this concoction of tea at night also soothes my bladder so I can sleep straight through the night. I use tumeric or curry in a lot of my rice and bean dishes. When I do, I've noticed the knee pain is greatly reduced. Now, I'm adding tumeric it to my morning smoothie's. It's a wonderful, holistic spice!

+Honeysuckle Alright. Here's the thing. I'm not one for believing in witchcraft. I had every reason to believe that thIs was going to be some kind of placebo. I was wrong. Not only is this delicious and easy to prepare, but the effects are immediate. As the steam from the water and the turmeric cleared my sinuses, the honey coated my throat, and the ginger alleviated the soreness. Coupled with the fact that oranges are my favourite thing to ever exist ever, drinking this was an emotional experience from start to finish: the shock of the rapidity of the effects, the joy of relief from this foul feeling ailment, the sadness and anger of knowing that it (the tea) would soon end, and the satisfaction of being able to doze off congestion free. Thank you for sharing this, you absolutely deserve ALL the subscribers!

friedmanism Yo, I hope you're better. Next time, try: Small saucepan (kind you'd boil an egg in). 3 tablespoons of honey Juice from a freshl squeezed lemon 1 clove of finely chopped garlic (yeah garlic) Heat very gently in the saucepan until it starts to bubble. Pour into a cup and allow it to cool very slightly. Then sip it. You might have to down it like a shot, because it does not taste nice... I was like, I am not drinking that!!! 😒 I was told "DRINK DE TING!" 😂😂😂 Right. That works within 5-10 seconds, no lie! I've literally stopped buying Lemsip since trying it. To improve the flavour, stir rosemary and finely chopped ginger like the girl in the video did. Also make the tea from the video, it will also help take the taste away. Oh, you are going to need mouthwash, seriously... 🙈 But you will feel better.

What I've learned from beekeepers is that the water should maximum be 40 degrees Celsius to preserve the good stuff in the honey.

Medical use German Chamomile has been used for treatment of inflammation associated with hemorrhoids when topically applied.[13] There is level B evidence that German chamomile possesses anti-anxiety properties and could be used to treat stress and insomnia.[9] Pharmacology Major chemical compounds present within chamomile include apigenin and alpha-bisabolol.[3][9] Other compounds in chamomile include: sesquiterpenes, terpenoids, flavonoids, coumarins such as herniarin and umbelliferone, phenylpropanoids such as chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid, flavones such as apigenin and luteolin, flavanols such as quercetin and rutin, and polyacetylenes.[3][13] Apigenin has demonstrated chemopreventive effects against cancer cells in the laboratory,[14] and alpha-bisabolol has been shown to have antiseptic properties, anti-inflammatory properties, and reduces pepsin secretion without altering secretion of stomach acid.[13] Anticancer effect - Studies have shown that chamomile extracts have in vitro growth inhibitory effects on cancer cells in skin, prostate, breast, ovarian, prostate cancer cell lines with minimal effects on normal cells.[3] Anticoagulant effect - Coumarin compounds in chamomile such as herniarin and umbelliferone may have blood-thinning properties. However, the mechanism is not well understood.[15] Anti-inflammatory effect - Several chemical constituents of chamomile such as bisabolol, chamazulene, apigenin, and luteolin possess anti-inflammatory properties although the exact mechanism is not well characterized.[3] Antispasmodic/antidiarrheal effects - Bisabolol and flavonoids have demonstrated antispasmodic effects in animal experiments. In human studies, chamomile tea in combination with other herbs (vervain, licorice, fennel, balm mint) was shown to be effective in treating colic in children. Flavonoids and coumarins are considered smooth muscle relaxants.[3][16] CNS/sensory effects - Chemical compounds present within chamomile bind to GABA receptors, modulate monoamine neurotransmission, and have neuroendocrine effects

I'd recommend using organic citrus if you're going to put the peel in as all others are sprayed with preservatives you really don't want to ingest. I'd also recommend not using boiling hot water as that will wipe out much of the vitamin C and destroy the enzymes in your raw honey (60C is plenty warm enough to give you a cozy feeling). Otherwise it sounds like a wonderful recipe. I find turmeric not that powerful, but it may be an acquired taste.
