Thank you for covering topics like cold sores! I’m eating a Chef AJ diet and still suffer from those nasty blisters. I have to identified remedies but here’s what I found triggers my outbreaks: 1) sleep deprivation for an extended period of time 2) a horrible night of tossing&turing because of worrying and overthinking. 3) too much display time - especially at night. Throw that darn phone out of your bedroom. 4) extreme cold and getting real cold feet and freezing for a long period of time (outdoor concerts etc) 5) sunshine and extreme heat

I suffer from chronic coldsores and have found my major triggers are stress (particularly emotional stress) and the sun. I am yet to find a natural lip balm with sunscreen. 😔

I experienced a lot of cold sore outbreaks when I first started eating a plant based diet; I was shocked to learn that the prodominent amino acid in almonds, arginine, was the culprit because it promotes cold sore growth vs lysine suppressing them. While other foods also contain this amino acid (like chocolate, flax and sesame seeds, peanuts, hazelnuts and walnuts) - the higher concentration in almonds always triggers outbreaks for me.

I avoid nuts and chocolate due to chronic cold sores. I take an antiviral medication daily to stop them because they are so painful and uncomfortable. I can get away with having 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds at a time or a couple of nuts or tiny amount of chocolate, but no more. I also take 1,000 mg of lysine supplements twice daily to help. Cold sores are contagious and I don’t want my kids or grandkids to get this lifelong problem from me.

I have a product called Alba Unpetroleum Jelly containing coconut oil, castor seed oil, and beeswax (hope beeswax is okay). It is really greasy and I need to order more.

When I used a premium vegan multivitamin, I experienced horrendous zits. It took a lot of time to figure it out. Also almond milk caused zits. Now that I have been vegan and am an old lady, applying perfumes causes me to itch on my shoulders (for about two weeks).

Ive always heard that it's the silica in horsetail that's suposed to be helpful for hair and nails. So it might be worth trying the horsetail tea (which has a very mild and pleasant taste) or in an oral supplement, or look for a cream containing silica to apply.

Eczema is a very fussy thing. Different people have different triggers. Going plant based may not CURE it, but it should help your skin, in general, heal better and be more healthy overall. I have far fewer breakouts. And, when I do, I now heal faster. I still have to be careful of foods as high levels of citrus can break me out... so even some plant based foods can effect things.

I didn't think about the citrus but they do contain high levels of histamine. I'm the person with the cracks on the fingers. I don't even think about using hand sanitizers or squeezing a lemon.

Herbal supplements from Dr emuakhe from Africa has brought a major positive change in managing my herpes symptoms. Before,my skin was often marred with blisters and scar's.Since taking the supplements, these issues have significantly decreased. Skin can heal itself from the inside but there is a healing process that would be called a breakout.
