Weakening the lock spring is an idiot idea unless you just use your knife to play with like a yo-yo. It keeps the lock engaged under hard use. The lock spring also holds the blade closed, and you want that to be as strong as possible in case you fall down or get in a car crash with a big folding knife on your pocket.

Never seen this one before. The mods you have in mind are interesting. Looking forward to seeing the process.

Very cool knife! I usually soften the pocket clips on all of the cold steel knives that I buy as well, I've had more than one pair of jeans with a "cold steel pocket". lol Your mod ideas sound neat, I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Cheers, buddy!

Very good evaluation; I totally agree. :-) I absolutely luv the Counter Point XL. It's my personal favorite Counter Point. But I did tune my favorite one, my CTS-BD1 Model, to my personal taste. :-) And I absolutely luv the way it turned out. Have fun with yours's, too, Bro! The Cold Steel Counter Point XL, absolutely, "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

I've had the old AUS8A version for 8 years. It's still as tough as nails. My Snaggletooth works well with it too. Unfortunately, since GSM has taken over I have found that Cold Steel's quality control has taken a nosedive. Which wouldn't be the end of the world if their warranty department made things right. They don't, so my collection of monster Cold Steel blades won't be growing.

Pretty cool. Are you planning on recording video of your adaptations to the knife? A how to? :-)

Hi Maureena! Yes I will follow up on this project, but will likely do a condensed rendition of the modifications. I hope you and W are happy and well!

Good luck getting a Snaggletooth to open that 6" blade effectively! I run them on all my CS stud knives, and find 5" to be max I'm efficient with, and much easier on 4" (SR1, Recon,Voyager, BrokenSkull). I would like to see if you can pull it off though! 👊🏼🇺🇲👊🏼

Shortly after posting this video, I installed the ST. I can say that it works and will be demonstrated soon.

I don't have a clear answer to the next problem. I would like to know the views of those who are able to clarify this issue, which is important to many. It is clear that the longer a knife is, the more effective it is in self-defense. The question is: when you do self-defense with a Counter Point XL, does the blade enter the attacker's body to the opening element or to the handle?

Did you ever put out the vid doing the mods?
@JohnnyJuke Жыл бұрын
I thought I did, but if I didn't, I will be soon. I did take it into the woods and gave a good work out. I know its not designed for this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKOwhaethNiWZ6s

Show me how difficult to open and close. How uncomfortable the sharp edges and corners. Not bad? Rubbish.

Their grinds are frequently off. The old Cold Steel company would swap the knife out for you immediately. These GSM fools act like they can’t comprehend that their grinds and bevels are off.
