The chaulk look on the side of the sheath is actually the white pencil I use to measure everything out. Just forgot to wipe it off before the vid. Your sheaths will not arrive ashy. 😂

I gave my late wife 3 knives over the years, a CS recon tanto for her purse, an Esee 4 for in her car and a CS 4" aluminum Ti-lite for her jeans pocket. Her favorite was the recon. Tried to get her to carry a pew-pew but we have a special needs son and she was afraid that he'd get into her purse when she wasn't looking, so blades it was. I could swear that the recon from back in the early 2000's when Thompson still owned the place was shorter though. Now I'll have to dig one out, still have a few, and measure it. Either way, it was always one of my favorites and a solid blade.

I own the recon tanto and all the SRK knives in fact I have two of the larger SRK knives, one in SK5 and one in San Mai. If the Navy SEALs use them for their BUDS training, then we should all trust them. All of these knives are blades you can depend on. They are sharp and tough tools at a very good price. I love mine and EDC them quite often. I have knives from Ka Bar, Tops, ESEE. Extrema Ratio, etc. and I carry my Cold Steel knives most of the time. You can get the SRK or the SRK-C for less than 50 bucks sometimes. Cool video, Brother.

I absolutely love these knives. I’ve owned both in multiple versions for many years. (I own both in SK5, as well as 3V) I’ve also purchased both as gifts for people many times. I have a custom sheath for my SRK from you, so that makes it even more awesome lol. Very very smart choice for someone just getting into knife collecting, or even for the seasoned outdoorsman. I don’t know the proper way to pronounce it but I say it like you did in this video. I probably was inclined to say it that way because of the Lone Rangers sidekick even though it is spelled different. I also don’t see why it maters. There are many words accepted with differing pronunciations.

@ IMO sir- Cold Steel heat treat is unreliable 👎 ( thumb down means bad ). If you are on a budget, try to go with Tops. Their heat treat 👍 ( thumb up means good ) IMO ( In My Opinion). I use emojis like abbreviations, so I don’t have to type as much to get my meaning across. I did not/ do not mean to offend you. 👍👊🏼. ( the last one is a fist bump. Kinda like a friendly handshake, only quicker , and less formal ) 😃 ( I am grateful for you taking the time and energy to create a video for us to see )

@ ooooooh. I’ve had good experience with CS stuff (for the most part) but am totally a Tops fanboy at this point. 👍
@ulbushcrafting659215 күн бұрын
@ “good experience “ is subjective. For example, I am in a very small community that would put me in the “hard use” category. If all you are doing is, and I don’t follow your channel, box opening , and the occasional batoning/feather stick making, then I suppose that would be ok. I don’t think there is even one cold steel knife that Joey X has tested that he did not say was 💩. Including their CPM 3 V steel Bowie and Tanto blades. That steel is AWESOME. So that tells me the heat treat is 👎.
@5MinuteKnives15 күн бұрын
@ makes sense. I approach knives mainly from the tactical angle so design, ergonomics and geometry matter a lot more to me on most cold steel knives rather than survival and woodworking. As a martial artist, I can work with the recon Tanto.
