Love spyderco backlocks but the upward click of the lock really bugs my ocd side as well. It's on every one I've ever had.

Couldn't have said it better. Love the knives, can't stand that flex or rock. I did get a Stretch that doesn't do it yet but I'm not doubting it will develop. Correction, It has lock rock

I Love Cold Steel Knives . I totally agree with you ,and the Voyager is definitely one of the most underrated knives around , it's such a great knife . I always wished CS would do a sprint run with like blue g10 scales and a satin s35vn blade , that would definitely give the Recon 1 some competition, it gives it competition now , that's probably why they wouldn't do it . CS makes some great knives for great prices , nobody else gives you CTS-XHP or CPM-S35VN for $60 - $70, lve seen the Broken Skull , Code 4 , and even the Recon 1 and Lawman go at those prices . If you don't have a CS knife , you need to get one , you won't regret it , But be warned , you might fall in Love ..lol ...

Would love to see the Endura compared with the Recon 1.

Each time that a CS model is confronted, the result in the worst case is a tie.

I'd agree on that.

I agree I have nine cold steels and 5 spydercos and always grab my voyager camping, it’s sad than Lynn Thomas sold it to a shoddy company that now makes cheep knives that don’t even meet Chinese quality and customer service is a joke, they will never see a dime unless Lynn Thomas comes back. GSMO has more complaints then a felon In a nunnery. Oh and forget your life time warranty that went with the wash

I think that Voyager is a better slicer too. I don't like the Full flat grind on Endura. Kind a broad angles.

No comparison in performance... Cold steel esp with the triad. I’ve had a good handful of spydercos and benchmades with/without axis lock, obviously they can’t handle heavy use.. aaand I’m a heavy user apparently haha. I only carry cold steel now, everything else sits in a drawer or collects dust on my dresser

If you are a heavy user to that degree a fixed blade is a superior option. Any reasonable lock won't fail under normal usage before something else on the knife will.

I am a coldsteel fan everything else is overpriced. I find I really like Aus10 it is amazing steel. I carry the xl version myself . I personally don’t find any company that can compete with coldsteel quality an materials. Really comparing a broken skull to the spyderco the broken skull blows away the spyderco with its xhp . I can say spyderco always came sharp but I’ve never bought a coldsteel that was dull either. But I’m very biased I’ve been using coldsteel for many years but I’m a user not a collector.

My experience is that Cold Steel knives come super sharp. Every one that I've received and the heat on them from my experience from Aus8 to XHP has been exceptional. Spyderco for me has been hit or miss on the sharpness and always a miss on symmetry. Apparently I've been lucky on Benchmades as their 90% or better flawless, but Cold Steels have always been flawless. Pretty remarkable, especially for the price. I appreciate their no nonsense designs.
