Man that Victor III fight felt like it was straight out a movie. From the almost baited first torp launch, to the net of retaliation counter launches, those evasive maneuvers and finally ending with a Victor sunk. Absolutely epic, bet even some those salted veterans in Narwhal were a bit queasy after that one.

Are people REALLY asking why the game is easier in one of the most cutting edge submarines with dependable, wire guided torps (that can attack both submarine and surface targets) compared to what amounts to a copy of a German WW2 era diesel sub with sub par weaponry and sensors? Obvious answer is obvious. And every time I watch one of these I get the itch to go back into the North Atlantic myself. SSN-705 City of Corpus Christi sank over 1.2 million tons of Red Banner tonnage at one point.. may be time to get her out of mothballs.

Most subs that detect me launch 3 or more torps, they often don't exactly know where you are but spam the area anyway. Its nice to see wolf put under a little pressure for once.

The soviet stallion is easy to evade (once you destroy whoever launches that), it can only target submerged subs so you can just surface your sub and suddenly you are invincible to their sensors. This applies to Soviet Helicopter Torpedo too (AT-1 and other ASW torpedos). Just remember to destroy whoever did that first so they don't just launch other torpedoes that can target both surfaced and submerged sub. Love your content as always Wolfpack!

@@billmuller6133 Its not really cheesy considering that this game throws you into situations that are simply un-winable sometimes. Like my current game...I have a go after some boomers in the Barents. Problem is that I keep running into groups of 2 surface ships. No biggie right? Nope. Even at a dead stop in the campaign map, going silent right off the bat, they still fire within 8 seconds of the battle loading. I have tried everything I can think of and zip. I barely even have time to pick them up on sonar and they are launching everything they have. I wouldnt really mind if I had some distance but they keep starting me on top of them. There is literally nothing I can do but load the save I have at port and skip the mission.

I always fire from the edge of the detection cone of the target's baffles, run the torpedo perpendicular to the target's course until the torpedo is just shy of emerging from the opposite edge of the cone and then march the torpedo in, staying within the cone until shortly before impact. This maximizes the angular spread between my sub and the counter fired torpedoes and minimizes my chance of being picked up by the torpedo's sonar.

How you play, and talk through it in relative calm is impressive. When I have a board full of torpedoes, and my knuckles don't form when I want them to, no WAY I could comentate it. I mean I don't think I could even form sentances, all I manage is a lot of non Hugh Chube friendly words squeaked out through gritted teeth. This last episode was a great one, good bit of everything. I was half expecting another sub to show up from nowhere just at the end. Time to go berate myself for spending hours watching someone play a game better than me, and make it look easy.

If you are looking for contacts the best way to find them is to dive to half the depth of the water. So if the depth is 1914 you would dive to 950. Sound is the loudest in this depth range. If you do this then remember that it does make it easy for surface contacts to hear you there as well.
