I just ordered the Belleville 655 boots as my trusty Wellco 80055 ST boots more than deserve a retirement (best and toughest boots I've ever had or seen). It's seen multiple generations of co-workers' boots appear and fall apart (mostly Red Wings). Maybe it was the steel toes, but after a while (I've gone down to -40 for over an hour straight in them) the 600g insulation just can't hold back the cold anymore. Apparently the Bellville 655/755 boots are even warmer than the 675/775 pairs with the addition of Gore-Tex Thermium, but otherwise are the same.

Ok I just had to look up the 755. I think it was discontinued but I'm really not sure what the difference is/was the C775 also has 600g insulation and has a gortex membrane. Ive had my C775's down to -5 and my feet felt fine. Belleville knows what they are doing. And the 655 looks like a good boot for you and I'm glad you got them.

@@winter_warfare From my understanding the Belleville 655/755 boots have Gore Thermium in addition to the traditional waterproof Gore-Tex membrane and 600g Thinsulate. Gore Thermium is apparently supposed to be an insulation that uses the most thermally efficient solid insulation known to exist: silica aerogel. At the very least it's rated to -20F with basically the same bulk as the 675/755 boots. Also, the Belleville 655/755 boots are the only boots Belleville officially describe as "Extreme Cold Weather Insulated". The 675/775 boots are only described as "Insulated". The first digit of the name only denote colors too, 6 meaning Sage Green (most blemish resistant color I've seen) and 7 meaning Coyote. I'm excited to try them out as soon as they get here, but I'm concerned about Belleville's sizing. Do your 775 boots fit true to size?

My recommendation is go a 1/2 size bigger. I can just say from both my Belleville Kyhbers and C775's the insulation adds a bit more to the inner boot, then if you want a big sock or 2 prs of socks something you also have a little extra fit. But Im gonna ask Belleville about the 675 and 755 and get them up on our site if it is available. So thank you for that info.

@@winter_warfarewhat are the key differences in the C775 and standard 775 from belleville? they have nearly a $200 difference and am wondering if there's a big enough difference to pay that much more. i've heard nothing but great things from belleville and am looking for boots to wear for hours a day in almost any weather conditions

Good question. I just looked up the 775 because I don't think I heard of it. Looking at the boot I think what the 775 is, is left over stock from Afghanistan but I could be wrong. But I did see some guys listing it at $99, it looks very solid though. Belleville is solid and has been around for a long long time and they do big DoD contracts so they are legit. If you like I can reach Belleville in the am to get an exact answer for you though on the C775 vs. 775. Let me know and I will do that and can get back to you. The Belleville C775 is a gortex 600g insulated boot with rugged sole. You cannot get the C755's. The Belleville Squall is a gortex 400g insulated boot with a sole designed for flat icy surfaces like working on a runway.
