Today I saw the Hunger games again for 3x And I came here to listen Coldplay music. Based on what is happening in the world lately, it even seems like this is the real hunger games, where extremist political influence is just like Snow, along with some fanatics. The world is in need of a Katniss, whether male or female. We are on a dangerous path. A comment that can be interpreted in 5 ways: dramatic, critical, hyperbole, metaphor and something real.

This is one of their most underrated ones! An absolutely stunning ballad with simple but deep lyrics, great melody, effective use of electronics for creating the mood and an addicting guitar solo at the climax of the song! It is also a musical piece, that can make you feel very different emotions: From sad, nostalgic, dreamy, wishful, empowered to hopeful. Under the surface, it is a very complex song. I just can't get enough of 'Atlas'!

This reminds me of Coldplays old stuff!! When they're style of music changed, the more commercial stuff that MTV likes, i wasn't too happy about it because in my opinion couldn't compare to their old stuff. This sounds like the old Coldplay that had more heart behind it! Great song!
@TedGallegosMusic11 жыл бұрын
I've gotta say, even though my heart resonates more with their older material, Mylo Xyloto still stands with me as one of the most cohesive and enjoyable albums I've ever heard. But I totally agree... this song is very reminiscent of their older work and especially X&Y in particular at least to me! But there's some Rush of Blood in there as well for sure!
@SeijiOnoss1111 жыл бұрын
I sense a little more Parachutes rather than Rush of Blood in this song. The piano is very much in the style of Parachutes, while the slight echo in the singing is typical of X and Y.

The lyrics are so beautiful! They don't have a clear meaning, but everyone can interpret them in some way. I for myself always find something new in it, what's always the same, however, is how strong and deep the emotional effect is. Coldplay is godlike, but Atlas is probably their best piece imo
@Viewable113 жыл бұрын
The lyrics describe the story of the film. See _Coldplay - Atlas (The Hunger Games - Catching Fire OST)_
@paulhk27273 жыл бұрын
@@Viewable11 I am aware of that, however I can't link the lyrics 100% to the story. Why Atlas? Why carry your world? I think it references Catching Fire but doesn't really reflect the story. (Fyi I'm a hardcore Hunger Games Fan, maybe I just missed the "true" meaning but after reading "Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" which has songs without definite meanings in it I like to believe the same applies to this song)
@ronnyaraujo9034 Жыл бұрын
@byarchangel Жыл бұрын
@@paulhk2727i'm late to this discussion, but "Atlas" - the titan condemned to carry the world on his shoulders - is Katniss in the song's narrative. the "world" she carries is the revolution, the ideals of the rebels and the pain of the poor and marginalized layers of the districts. "carrying this world" is a curse like Atlas's, as Katniss never wanted to be a symbol of the revolution - she was drawn into the middle of everything after her sacrifice for Prim. yet she subjects herself to it and is inevitably tied to it.

@laurens33549 жыл бұрын
Beautiful song complimented by a beautiful video; I love the symbolism within it especially with the title and the lyrics. Atlas being a Greek God who carries the sky/stars (Depending on your reading of the tale) on his shoulders - I've head quite a few people say they don't understand why the title is what it is. Well, It's quite simple, Atlas carries the stars/sky and every world exists within that so the main lyric "Carry your world." matches the reference to Atlas. It's a beautiful song which has interpretive meaning, anyone can infer what they like onto it to change it's meaning.
