My dad is in town visiting this weekend and we watched the game this morning and he kept asking me about Palmer. He doesn’t watch much football but he was saying that Palmer reminded him of the way Messi played with the passes and way that he can read the game. And then the free kick happened and we lost it. @megaslice23Ай бұрын
2 things: 1. Watching him play the last 13 months, it's been so uncanny to have a player like this and not know exactly who to compare him to. His skillset is so unique. Although a pundit today gave the closest one yet: Bergkamp. I don't think Cole can necessarily match Bergkamp's technique on the ball, but I do think he is a better finisher. However, their profiles are still strikingly similar: unremarkable athletes(by EPL standards, and yes, Cole has an incredible motor for all his quality) who are always two steps ahead of everyone else. Great first touch, agile, great dribbling, elite passing, bags of composure, makes players around him better, you could apply these traits to either Cole or Dennis. You won't see a better practitioner of la pausa than Cole (outside of Bergkamp, himself, Hazard or David Silva). 2. Joe Shields (Chelsea's head of youth recruitment) deserves all the credit in the world for that recommendation. He's also the one responsible for bringing in Jackson, Caicedo, Lavia, Gusto, Paez and Estevao. He absolutely deserves to be promoted to the top of the club's recruitment team.
